Velocifero Mini Mad 800w Electric Scooter .. UK in depth look , video 127

Ойын-сауық

Hi Folks ...
just giving my first impressions on the Velocifero Mini Mad
electric scooter ... time stamps below ...
i've not ridden it yet, but i thought i would give you some detailed
information on it , because there is not a lot of info on this particular model
and i wanted to know some sizes , what i could and couldn't do to it
so , i ended up doing this for others who are searching for some unanswered questions , like seat post size etc etc
my experience is not great so far , but i do like the scooter other
than the very poor workmanship on the electrics mainly ...
it came with all sorts of issues which is not great
and i won't reveal where i bought it from quite just yet , to be more fair than i really should be
i also made a rear mudguard and stencil for you to copy , it looks great , so buckle up , this one's gonna be a bumpy one
peace out and keep a rockin

FOUND ANOTHER ODD THING .... the grub screws that secure the bars on mine are different sizes , i noticed this due to the crappy grub screws wearing away and becoming useless after 4 rides , my left is an m6 size , the right an m5 , better to make your own and cut a slot for a screwdriver , which is what i have done , will show this in a later video

@Clown World News hi clown , it will do around 20 mph , any more and it gets sketchy due to having no suspension , bumps do affect the steering as it gets real light at that speed , so it's plenty for a non suspension scooter

@Clown World News yeah it has to have the seat on , i had a petrol scooter when i was young, and i prefered to stand, but the bars on this do not raise high enough for that as i'm 6 foot 1 , and besides , the deck is not flat and makes footing awkward , and it also does not lock down , it's just on a hinge , unless you fit a quick release bracket or something

@Clown World News that being said , i may make a flat deck and use bungs underneath , something i will dable with in the future ;-)

Thanks for the vid im looking for one for my son. I hv the mad 1600 big tire. Luckily the battery ran out and the person sold it to me for $500 which then i bought a lithium battery for it.now its just as fast as the 2000watt scooter. I got it up to 40mph so far. Thanks Bsipp

PS FOLKS ... the mudguard does not have to be bent , it will fit nicely even flat , i made mine from an old aluminium washing machine back plate which is around 1mm thick , i managed to cut it with large scissors of all things whilst bending what i was cutting out of the way .... just take your time , hope this helps

my front wheel location was also way over one side in relation to the front forks, kinda odd , and the underside of the deck was also heavily marked from transportation from bouncing and vibrating on the battery connector , but that was due to the battery not being located properly in the tray as explained in the video , the brake caliper was also not adjustable enough to remove rubbing on the disc when rolling , you can hear it ....but you'll see in the next video when i test ride it .... peace out

ANOTHER UPDATE !!! i noticed the 2 bolts on the front rubber mounts on one side , where different to the opposite side , different allen key sizes and thread , it's almost as if they ran out of bolts and put some smaller ones through the opposite side ..... i'll show this more in the next video

In spite of those defiences its a pretty and comfortable machine, and it has high potential to mod it, i calculated to allocate self made battery pack of 130x Panasonic NCR18650B (tested 3,348Ah) with a total power of 1600W/h, machine actual stock battery pack (Spain model) is 500W/h (52 batteries of teorically 2,6Ah that sure really be less than that)

yeah it is a pretty machine , it's just a shame about it's poor build and performance drop after 5 minutes , i think the battery is probably made up of fake 18650's as they are rife in China

yeah that's why i did this video , because when i looked for info there was none about , the scooter overall is pretty strong , the assembly is pretty poor in parts as you can see , no consideration for the buyer , i guess all the mad scooters are the same quality , but with a few hand skills you can get around it , not that you should have to agreed at that price, but the lithium battery is partly the reason why the price is still up there , it's probably made from knock off 18650's , Velocifero is an Italian company i believe , it's a shame they get things made in China by a farmer and his kids for the price of a chocolate biscuit .... i'm sure he doesn't do that for his electric motorbikes , and he never replies on his Fb group either , so it's a big F him , maybe they are not all like this, i don't know , but if my video causes doubt and makes people think first before buying, then it did it's job , thanks for the reply Elestro and good luck

well i need to look into it a little more still , but 4 rows of 9 2700's will fit in , giving more mah , so that will give more power for longer periods , and more distance , and i think 5 rows of 9 18650's will also fit in , which would be better also , you just have to keep within the voltage the motor can handle , it's early days for me yet, so i need to look into that more when i get the time , but i'm pretty new to these as well , i'm just good with my hands is all and tidying crap up haha

I have it, here in Spain is sold under "Cecotec" brand, i completelly dissasembled the BLDC to search for electromagnetic brake funtion and ensure the wiring. The BLDC is labeled as 48V 800W "SWL09F0C01-A" with "HIGH LEVEL BRAKE", some conectors are not conected (and not labeled), no way to find schematic for this BLDC model. EMG Brake doesnt work, or is not conected, or need for another part like a braking resistance, with this issue the braking is extremelly poor and dangerous to brake a load of about 114Kg at 25Km/h and less. Someone forget to weld right side internal chasis steel plate (where the braketing reinforcements are screwed to). May be the need to replace the controller for an actual one, with speed, cruise, a working EMG brake and another actual features. It doesnt have rear red light too, contradictory, the packaging appears with it. The seat support is autodissasembled with movement vibrations and turn itself, need to be fixed to a permanent or semipermanent system. I think this machine has been designed to feign.

@@Rusko_087 it all depends what you really want it for , off road etc , hub motors will give you more power , thats why i got this one , even though it's only 800w , it's comparable to a standard 1600 chain driven motors with acid batteries , but a scooter with 2 hub motors will be very nice , and lipo batteries also give more oooomph .... look at Kugoo dual 2400 , mercane mx60 , mercane widewheel pro , dualtron and similar, you get what you pay for , but all scoots have these teething build problems , if you are ok with your hands, then it's no biggie ...good luck , ps, i'll have another soon so keep checking ;-)

Hi Andy, My friend brought an electric scooter yesterday, The seller said it had new batteries 2 weeks ago & gave him the receipt. he tried at buyers house & it was fine but was advised to charge it more, anyhow once home he put on charge for 5 hrs it was still red, he tested it outside to see if it had the right power but it only took him about 4 minutes up the road & light went out so had to push it back..... Should this of happened? or any advice please Andy. would be so grateful,

funnily my battery isn't great , and i'm editing a ride video right now testing it out , because i charged mine up and rode it 2 days later , and had 5 minutes before the battery was starting to sag and lose power , so today i charged it and went straight out, it was better but still not as it should be.... the problem is, batteries are usually stood unused for ages in a scooter because they don't sell rapidly and are in storage for ages , i'm no expert on scooters yet , but batteries i do know , and most scooter batteries seem poor quality , as for your friends , he may need to leave it on charge for 8 to 10 hours then go try it and let me know , mine goes green after 20 minutes and it shouldn't do that either , i'm doing similar tests right now so stay tuned , and both of you let me know what happens, just drop a message

@@AndyM65 okay Andy, thanks for your re[ly. W leave it on longer & see what happens, I know it isn't that the batteries have stood for too long though as they are new (2 weeks) unless they have stood for a long time in the shop, nice to speak with someone who knows about batteries. seems it's the batteries are the cause of most the problems or am I wrong ? @@andrewwhan5237 haha, i wouldn't say i'm the main man lol , but batteries from new generally need a nice long slow charge to start with , yeah batteries suck a little for scooters, but look after them correctly and they will last, they also improve after a few uses , depends what type it is , but lithium would give more response and power and also last longer , lead acid tend to have a life cycle of 350 or so charges and need you to be around when charging , never over charge those ...what type do you have ? anyways i'm uploading my ride test video right now , which i did purely as i thought my battery was crap also , keep me posted and let me know how you get on

Ok, tire ...everything is great, now no power, i checked the battery and on the charger case it is a green light, i'm thinking that the battery shorted out as soon as I was thinking about getting the new upgrade. "funny thing is something simple turns into a project. Do you think the battery gave up? It is new, but that does me no good considering it's from China.

  • @AndyM65

my battery case goes green after an hour of charging , ignore that as it's glitchy i think and is a false reading , just leave it on for a good 8 to 9 hours , then go play , one thing to note with these cheapo batteries is, if you charge it ride it , if you charge then wait for the next day , it will have lost a lot of charge , they are so crap at holding a charge, which is a sign of poor cells used , knock offs lol , so i take it off charge just before i go out on it .... look into making a battery , they are not hard , they will cost you around £100 to build with quality batteries and strips , yet 250 to 400 to buy , but a few simple rules apply , like voltage and using pure nickel and not a mixed nickel strip , resistance is lower in pure nickel strips and they will also not corode like mixed strips will , another option would be to measure the max size a battery can be to fit in ok , and get someone to make you one , obviously giving them the info 36v etc and what connector to use , but they can work out the max capacity they can get to fit within that size .... ps , after a ride , put it on charge for a few hours to keep the battery topped , if they drop to low from being left for ages, they will give up , which is total BS , anyways , as i say i'm new to this and still looking into it
