    I'm very impressed with how the guys handled this situation. Jensen wanting to leave the stage to diffuse, and Jared staying on stage, trying to see if there was anything he could do to help. I fully believe he would have given her an autograph if it would have helped. What an amazing cast we have been given. Thank you for your video.

    Desiree Lecluse ...I totally agree. That why it warmed my heart that it wasn’t placed out “there”. I work with special needs. Have for eleven years. Not easy job or life. Kudos to the young girl for even having the courage to go despite her disability. What better place to have her moment, but with our “SPN family”! I’m proud that she had enough faith in us, not to judge, but understand. People on the outside of the convention...that their only connection to a convention is these videos. Can stand proudly and say it was handled like a family. I haven’t seen nor heard anyone bashing her. Quite the opposite. That it makes me proud to be apart of Supernatural. It’s no longer a fandom. It has turned into family. Proof is in the pudding. 😂

    @@SamanthaArrowoodTate I wasn't aware until I saw this video that autism could result in such deeply pained cries, I genuinely thought someone was being attacked in the background when I first heard it, then I realized the context of what she was saying, it was something else. I'm amazed the boys knew exactly what was going on so quickly, and responded so well. I've known people on the spectrum but not seen that kind of thing before and it scared me. It's so good that people out there know so much and can keep people calm.

    Chaeron77 i work with special needs. They can be quite violent as well as lovable. But when they get fixated they on something they will do everything in their power to fulfill that fixation. They don’t understand why they can’t do something. I was so proud of both guys. They handled it so good. Not freaking out and leaving was the best thing. The young lady fixation wasn’t there so they tend to quiet down. Sad thing as soon as I heard her it was evident that she had some special needs.

  • @Vousie

    @Vousie

    5 жыл бұрын

    Uhh, the Vampire Diaries is still running cons despite the spin-off having ended in the middle of last year (and VD itself the year before that). Also Creation entertainment and the others will happily keep running the cons as long as the tickets sell and the actors continue to sign on. The main reason why most shows' conventions end shortly after the show does is because usually the actors are only talking about the show itself, answering questions about their characters' actions, so once that finishes, they kinda run out of interesting stuff to talk about. But with SPN, the majority of the questions are about J2 themselves. In this panel, by halfway through it, we still haven't had any question about actual storylines in the show. I think the fans will be just as interested in hearing Jensen's adventures in being a superhero as they are about Supernatural (as I am too).

    The concern and love and empathy that you saw in Jared's eyes proves how much he cares about his fans. You can also tell from his reaction that its most likely he has had similar bad days and could relate to the girl. Jensen was phenomenal going from joking and humor to straight crisis manager. You can tell he was concerned for the fan and was ready to diffuse the situation any way he could. I would have been like Jared and tried to stay to see if I could help in any way but I also understand Jensen wanting to leave the stage to diffuse the situation because he knew her seeing them was why she was breaking down. I don't think security was helpful, A con can be overwhelming and for an autistic person who was fixated on something it can be even more so. I love how Jensen said, let her get through it and asked if there was someone who she needed.... Jared was too quick with a medical professional, it would have been a stranger, which does not go well with Autism either. But good on them for being so gracious and sending her love. @@ditajean they wouldn't of been able to say something then cause that would be giving her personal medical information out. I knew right away it was autism and even commented on a post that was saying she was just an obsessed fan and one where no one had acknowledged that it was autism. Then later reading through the comments I found where the girl's Mom confirmed it was in fact autism and that the girl had a photo op with them so they most likely knew it was autism and they can't legally share her medical records so at that point. I agree that it would be great for them to do some kind of campaign for autism awareness, unfortunately they have so many fans that suffer from so many different conditions whether it be Medical, mental, or emotiona. They wouldn't be able to do that many recognitions for each and every thing on each and every month just be too many. They'd have to limit it to their own personal immediate family to make it fair to the extended SPN family. I work with autistic children by the way. I love it! I really really hope Dabb & Singer will listen to what Jared & Jensen have to say. Every time they tell how they would've done something different, it ALWAYS sounds better than it was in reality (extending DemonDean storyline, extending purgatory storyline, cut the cheesy fight scene between Michael and Lucifer and so on).

  • @Vousie

    @Vousie

    5 жыл бұрын

    The showrunners probably also wanted the Denon!Dean storyline to be longer. The problem was they had ep200 at 10x05, and needed 10x04 as a "recovery" ep - for Dean to get back to being himself - would've been dodgy/jarring if Dean had gone directly from being healed from being a Demon straight into being normal Dean again. Thus they were kinda boxed in with having to end the Demon!Dean storyline at 10x03. One of the things I love most about SPN is that it doesn't skip over the recovery time - the need to come back from what they'd been through - eg Sam's time in Hell, which still hasn't just been erased. Compare in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (as much as I loved that show), where Angel spent 100 years in Hell, came back rather feral - literally forgot his own identity - but by the end of the ep he's back to normal as if nothing ever happened, and it's only ever mentioned again when Buffy talks about how hard it was for her to send him to Hell...

  • @sunnykaykay

    @sunnykaykay

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@Vousie Yes that may be a reason, still maybe it could have been handled differently. It seriously was wasted potential. And to the recovery time, yes that's true but I feel that is mostly the case with Sam in my opinion. His Lucifer storyline was HUGE and the aftermath and trauma was dealt with in numerous episodes even seasons (6 & 7). We didn't get a lot of recovery time after hell for Dean because the focus was on Sam/Ruby storyline and after Purgatory all the worry was for Cas or the angel/demon tablets...

    I am so glad they were calm and understanding... Autism can be hard to understand and they were great. I don't think security was helpful, A con can be overwhelming and for an autistic person who was fixated on something it can be even more so. I love how Jensen said, let her get through it and asked if there was someone who she needed.... Jared was quick with a medical personal, it would have been a stranger, which does not go well with Autism either. But good on them for being so gracious and sending her love. Anyone saying bad things about her should be ashamed of themselves.

    @@steeleye2000 there, copy, pasted and fixed a little... realized I missed a word and wanted to use another one. I work with Autistic kids so I know how it can affect people. I think Jensen has a better sense of Autism because they can have some similar personality quirks (which are not a bad thing at all) as Downs people and he has his nephew with DS.

    My nephew and my best friends brother have autism and sometimes it’s really difficult to watch them when they have a meltdown cuz you feel like u can’t do anything but watch. Jensen and Jared both handled it really well and I’m so happy that people didn’t laugh or make nasty jokes about it which unfortunately does happen a lot. And thank you for covering the screen that’s so mature of you and very caring. So thank you to everyone for being so understanding of the poor girl. This is just further proof of how amazing our supernatural family truly is. Thank you x💙

    I always enjoy watching our boys but hearing that girl screaming (at first I thought it was someone causing a fight or something than realized she may have been having some kind of episode), it broke my heart once I realized what was going on. And Jared and Jensen and the rest of the fans handled it so well, doing what they could to keep things from getting out of hand. Jensen made a good call for them to go offstage while those trying to help her did what they needed to but I also commend Jared. He has such a big heart and you could tell he was so concerned and wanted to help any way he could, he just wanted to make sure she was okay even though Jensen tried to get him offstage which he started to do til those girls stopped him with whatever they told him. And I applaud you for covering the lens when she was brought in front of you than stopping recording. I'm sure just knowing what happened is embarrassing enough for her without it being recorded and out there for hundreds to see. And when she came back in, they were so good about handling that as well. It's nice to see actors who care so much for their fans. And it was good to hear the fans being supportive for her too. The whole situation was well handled.

    Thank you for so much for upload.💕 They had so much good laughs but I also was do impressed how J2 manage (especially Jensen) the situation during episode this lady with autism. They were so respectful, so kind, so caring and worried about her condition (the looks on their faces) and they did the best what that could for her and to calming audience to not making stunt. Kudos for them for pauze panel and leaving for a moment so situation could be manage to end with possible calm, to not distress her even more. And I love the moment when they realized that she came back to the room and they again calm audience to let this lady normally rejoin the panel and when Jared said to send her love because sometimes ups and down happens to members od SPNFamily.

Second hats off to you for covering the camera as the young lady was having some issues and applause to J2 for the major class they showed during that time. This is one of the reasons I love the boys the way I do. Lastly Jensen to Jared "A Helicopter Ride?" Priceless. Jensen "I wanna see my children grow up." I melted. Good god I Love that Man. Anyway Thank you again for posting this I am always here you have amazing convention coverage. I'm excited to see your next video have a wonderful day.

    @@mjnorman9824 My younger brother has autism, and this statement is not fair. You can't constantly confine someone to easy comfortable situations just out of fear that they might have a meltdown. The only way an individual on the spectrum can learn and grow is by experiencing new and unknown situations. While yes this is an instance where the convention might have overwhelmed the woman, you can't keep them at home as if they were in jail.

    I asked and you delivered thank you so much! I personally think that both of these great actors real kit even greater opportunities because of the numbers worldwide of fans that support them and we'll go to any likes to see anything that they do! So in that sense I do believe at the conclusion I'm Supernatural these two will be in the higher echelon of sought after actors, if not, the most sought-after actors for anything! It is going to be very interesting and extremely we want him for both of them and I'm grateful for that and happy for them! In conclusion, I think that giving us advance notice was so right in the sense that some minor Skirmish Wars broke out and hopefully now simmer down so that all can enjoy what remains for now!
