This was a good series. I met Robert Urich when I was a teenager as an extra for an episode of Spencer For Hire, he was such a terrific guy. He was so nice that he was even trying to call me over at one point when I wasn't allowed to leave where I was. In all the years I worked on sets he was hands down one of the nicest people I've encountered. And the happy experience of meeting him has never left me.

I always had that impression of him, it's lovely to learn that he really was a nice guy. I still grieve his loss, he was one of my favorite actors, especially on Spenser. LOVED that show.

This was Vegas 50 years ago..love the small town feel and seeing old casinos like the Dunes.

Yep this show ran just before Vegas began it's high-rise resort transformation.

This show is fantastic!! I have the DVD set. But, Will watch them on here if I don’t feel like getting up! Very underrated!

I noticed they've reduced the entire series down...and down to what is now!?!? I thought people/ companies could get a license to stream or show on tv...but the time frame..was usually 5 years plus??? Who knows??

This is fantastic to see!

Will these episodes always be here? Or will they be taken down after awhile? Don’t want to start a playlist and months or so later they’ll be gone. Love these old classics.

1/16/23: Robert Urich was a great actor, loved him in Spencer for Hire and his friendship with Hawk. Hawk was a another great spin off.

They had mobile operators in those days. Ever since the introduction of the cellphone towers, all mobile operators have since been on unemployment, and that’s just unfair!

Fun show; fun characters. The difference between making a show then and now is striking. This could easily be a 30 minute show with tighter editing and dialogue. The hiring of a full orchestra for every plot line for background is long gone now. And why are interior shots so dark? Love all the suit coats and ties for everything, even at home or commiting mayhem.

Actually, it’s spelled W-I-N-D-Y, and you obviously got the wrong gender in mind under the circumstances of the dilemma.

Too bad that Dan Tanna was out of town on vacation when The Sheriff’s Association of America had its big convention in town, and Milwaukee born independent trucker B.J. (Billie Joe) McKay was framed for the robbery of The Dunes (by mob connected gambler Paul Vayne), otherwise it would probably have been interesting to see how Dan Tanna would have handled himself when confronting Captain John Sebastian Cain and Deputy Sergeant Jack Higgens of Bishop County, Georgia, as well as Sergeant Beauregard Wiley of Winslow County, and Wilhameinha Johnson aka The Fox of the Atlanta P.D., and Sheriff Elroy P. He died way too young. I wonder how old he would be today or at least he could have died at least closer to the time his wife died although she died young as well. She probably died of a broken heart.

1:7 This was a good episode, BUT, Pernell Roberts was COMPLETELY wasted in this. He deserved better. Anyone could have done that microscopic part they gave him.

A top notch villain player in no uncertain terms, from Ralph the diner cook in the 1967 cinematic version of “IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT” to the henchman of the mobster who wanted former Lieutenant Novelli dead because the mobster’s grandson was murdered in jail while awaiting trial on a narcotics charge, according to a second season episode of the series “MATT HOUSTON”.

The series Vega$ was strong, edgy, and so very often funny when Dan Tanna was engaged by Philip (Slick) Roth. (movie star Tony Curtis)..Tony Curtis as 'Desert Inn owner 'Slick Roth' appeared less and less over the next 2 seasons..At 27:20, engaging 'Daniel', Tony Curtis was a great and very famous movie star--and he was a huge story asset to Vega$.... When Phyllis Davis (Bea) was asked in a 2010 interview why Curtis was appearing less and less in Season 2 and Season 3,, she said, 'I don't know..."

The bumbling sidekick character (Benzer) is annoying along with the ubiquitous, fake Hollywood fights. The human body can only take so many direct fist punches. ...With all the brute violence and story angles, it's no wonder Vegas had to drastically change its image.

Spencer for hire was FAR better. This would have been better if the entry had been filmed better. Back in the day I got tired of watching every time you'd run the same intro the Vegas lights the strip the whole thing the soundtrack got old.

But Spenser is a biological 1ST Cousin to both Dan Tanna of “VEGA$”, and Jim Street of “S.W.A.T.”.

I simply don't like to see Pernell Roberts bald. Most of his aura went away with his black hair.
