    Manni-Gaming I saw that you mentioned something about it becoming obsolete or something along those lines. Do you mind sharing what issues you came across? Also, I'm curious if you've kept the same equatorial line concept ;). Have you kept the same premise with the introduction of the bombers on the fleet bay?

    dwhspace Hi there dwhspace. I kept the idea. But with the implementation of the fleet bay into the inner base area - there was no way to combine a good turret-coverage with low collateral damage anymore especially if you wanted to make your turrets sit inside the base being protected by a closed or at least almost closed mine-wall. I made a video about my new base layout since the fleet bay. You will find that the line is stil there but not as long anymore. The mine-opening stil stayed the same but I made some other changes. The old layout was NEVER 2-starred. That's a fact. But I soon realized that the kinetic driver turrets were too slow. I put in place 4 gladius driver turrets 3 and kept 3 kinetic next to the bridge so they would fire on every sniper regarldess of which direction they came from. Here's the new layout. It's very powerful. Definitely stronger than the old one. But no wonder with the new fleet bay now as well. Defense videos will follow, soon. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mH9rzZadZaSbXaQ.html

    MerlinCorwinoff Cap Plates 3 are the highest hitpoints you can fit on a module, buddy.

    I recently unlocked glad2s for my base (lev 33) and have been feverishly strapping them onto everything for the event, now I realise I got carried away and have massive blind spots for rush fleets. I need to balance them with close quarters, do you think Graviton Ray 5 would work ok?

    BJAGOGO It just doesn't have enough damage output. You need to get Sicos and til you get there: Try to get the Tachyon Beam (thermal beam for base) its a blueprint

    would it be to much to make a base defense video in terms of different ship classes for example to defend against a carrier fleet doing a rim job on your base?

    After doing similar, I have a lot of coin makers and storage modules left over, what would you do with them? I have them randomly placed around.. :)

    smithy2365 I always place some low level modules around the edges in order to make your enemy have to actually get those 1-hit-targets too in order to 100% you.. Not so important in higher levels anymore as noone can 100% you anymore. But in low-mid level area that was very helpful... Other than that. Place things before your turret so that a shot that your enemy wants to fire on your turret gets fired at that thing instead because he's not in range, yet. But make sure that those are no buildings with lots of collateral damage.

    Nice basedesign Tho I prefere to have max shields (meta 3) on all my modules. Dont actually know why, since shield/mass of meta3 is horrible. Too bad I also dont have sico turrets. I think i skipped that event. BTW, I use also 2 arrestors. You think its a good choice to sacrifice 2 damage dealers for it?

    coolman129921 Anything that gets destroyed deliveres the collateral damage no matter if connected or not.

    Love it, Manni. Been using a rendition of your premise with the fleet bay bombers. I've lost the collateral damage advantage with the fleet bay, but it's a pretty nasty thing. Just waiting on the sicos. How has your testing gone against fleets? I've found it's weak to snipers on its flanks.

    Daniel holley Jeah I've got a new setup after I did the Reclamation Event. It's definitely much stronger. But I also had to sacrifice the collateral thing to a certian part.

    To delete a building press upgrade, on the down left side there is a "recycle" button that will take away the building ;)

    manni did you every think about putting in a few gladius turrets with your KD's. They fire fast but have less range then KD's. The benefit of this is the proximity explosion even if it does not hit exactly.

    richard long Yes. I know. I had Gladius there. But the range is not long enough for me. I want to make all possible turrets fire and for this i need good range.

    Manni-Gaming They were made using a program I wrote: rebel.bugs3.com or the mirror at rebel.conuf.com. Still in beta. Yes, the coverage is correct. The bridge coverage is more of a square with rounded corners (just like in the game). And it's a top-down view.

    Shin Tetsuya Kenshin Hm. I thought that also, once. But it doesn't work as the weapon and the special + armor weighs too much at times and you can't fit it anymore. So it's good to have level 2, also.

    With out the iridium magnets on your turrets, how do you deal with strafing? It seems if I used phased, they are easy to dodge, so the extra punch through doesn't make a difference.

    +MerlinCorwinoff Yepp. That's the thought. When multiple shots are firing from different positions arriving at different times - it's almost impossible to dodge them all. And the damage you do then is REAL damage to the armor. Notthing your opponent can regenerate or refil but just starting the combat again.

    collateral also goes diagonally so to all 8 spots directly around your module and all 12 spots around your bridge. Your collateral story needs some updating :). Keep up your good work!

    jarnowesterhof hehe. you're right. But I know that it goes diagonally, already. I know some turrets do collateral but I meant collateral against other turrets (which also some of them do - but not as much as most other bases have and especially consierable lower than my last layout ^^) Thanks!

    With regards to that first base layout, sniping one SICO would allow any decient sniper to take bridge with very minimal damage. It needs arrestor

    vanasten2 Either the people attacking so far did not do it right - or you're wrong in your assumption :-) I don't use arrestors. I rather have more turrets firing. Better against rushers and also useful against snipers. YOu can dodge - you will get hit a lot, too :-) Not saying it's the best. But so far it worked ;-)

    vanasten2 You'd have to line up. I can't even repair my own base anymore before getting attacked again because of that video, hehe. :-) But that's because I did not relocate to my alliance. I will be back with them in a few days or so I guess.

    using level 1 miners on the outside of your base will help vs creeper rushes and rim jobs. the creepers are so slow that they will actually take all the hits from the creepers until the cruiser passes them while still being only level 1. rimmers will continually target the closest target which will always be the next miner unless they stop the ship and let it get turned into fish food. that is unless they are smart and target manually which can be problematic in its own way.

    I figured it out recently! Just click upgrade and then there is a recycle shown lower left. btw, i dunno how to gear up my rancor MK2. I have 5 of them for now!

    Good video overall. Not really an Antisnipe your kd's are very slow not a problem to dodge. Collateral is a great weapon if you know how to use it, don't be afraid of it :)

    Roel Baguca You mean - use it with your base? Or do you mean against someone elses base? In that case I love collateral, of course ^^. But it's a lot of KDs. It's not possible to dodge them all - especially because they don't always fire a perfectly aimed shot. Or at least I never manage to dodge all the shots :-)

    Use it on your base make it harder to prep, if you use collateral right most of the players will give you the 2 hours bubble and also if the modules are close to each other the attacker will have to swap targets a lot more witch confuses noons lol . I think your CM's are low on armor, a lot of players use phased on destroyers, think about it. You don't need to dodge them all but most of them ;). Anyway Imo this is a good video and giving great tips for new players a friend of mine send me the link so I thought to share my opinion ;)

    Zeezee SD Thanks man. Jeah I'm german. Are you talking about german vids? I am already doing all the weapon reviews for the Vega Conflict Online Wiki. After that - maybe I will continue doing that with the ships. But for now I concentrate on getting the weapons done. And jeah... I wish my english would be more than "quite ok". But I'm working on it every day :-)

    Ap has really good range glad has proxi explosion and kinetic highest range with highest damage. Theres not really an answere to that ;-)

    Henry Hamilton Creeper are squishy. They can help kill snipers while actually aiming for the decoys but they are - in my oppinion - unrelyable. I had them once. Didn't do sh*t :-)

    +thepcfd yes. That is an older video. I replaced all the Kinetics now with gladius drivers. They are much faster with a insanely much better hit chance thanks to the proximity triggered detonation also. They also miss. But if you fire enough - they will hit enough :)

    +eric biwang What is your question? You are level 23 and need to set up a good base? Hm. Try using a combination of Plasma Missiles and Coil Driver and maybe 1 Thermal Ray V on the bridge.

    Jordan Lovett Anti Rush only if your opponent isn't the smartest one ;-) A good rush is with a split up fleet - even considering where to put every single one to share damage output by moving them a little bit. A good rush does not get double-penetrated by AP :-)

    Manni-Gaming, Can you give me details about your fleet and your base defences system? 1. what level base are you? 2. bridge weapons? 3.turret weapons? (for anti sniping) 4.Turret weapons? (for anti rush) 5.both for snipin and rushing weapons 6.whats your best fleet? 7.(asking number 6) what level fleet is, does it can destroy Vsec /Golden Star by 1 fleet? 8.Best weapons on your fleet (your opinion) 9.could you give me example for snipin (with projectile) fleet and rushing fleet (with missile / any energy weapons) 10.could you find my base, then watch your best fleet in battle? Name : HellhunterZ Location : (doesn't Remember)

    oh boy... hey buddy. im about to go to sleep so lets make this short. I have 4 sico missile III turrets as anti rush, 5 anti snipe / rush vector torp turrets, 1 ultra long range AP driver turret directly next to the bridge and one ultra long range sniping turret (kinetic V) on the bridge itself. Generally I go for more armor.. some turrets have no shields but capacitive plates III as this has the highest possible defence then. Others have Meta II but non has meta III. Mines are made so that sniping as hard as possible (outside with big caps) and base layout is made so that it has as minimal as possible collateral damage. I can't possibly describe every little special & armor and its purpose. But if you watch my most recent videos you'll get a good look in the most recent layouit. usually in the beginning you can see my base layout before I jump into the topic...

    This is a really old video, dude.. And ps.: Anyone can destroy any base with Lance destroyers currently. The balancing sucks for bases atm :)

    +Siim Sander Karu You're wrong Siim. It's not the best base. I have a different one, today. But with a lot of similarities. Gladius Driver 3 does better than the Kinetic Driver turrets. That was one thing I had to learn. But that base layout was never 2-starred back when I had it. And I was under attack from ICU and other top alliances. It's outdated now and was not the best back then but it was not bad either :)

    lol na, trust me ELYS coiner guy, i know, what is a good base, and this 1 is rubbish, i can easyly flat it :D there are over 30 of these kinds of bases, from lvl 37-44 and all of them i have 2 or 3 stared :D

    I don't think this base design is very good at all...you do have too much collateral damage, and not enough concentration of fire power. Why are you actually mining asteroids?

    J. Ken Welch Good question, hehe. Doesn't really bring much ress in, that's true :-) Well.. Since then I change a couple of things. I changed most of the Kinetic Driver V with Gladius Driver 3, for once. But other than that: I have not been 2-starred ever since I build this base when I made this video. That does not mean that it's impossible or extremely difficult. But it hasn't happened, yet. The Collateral only comes in when the bridge gets destroyer. The turret to turret collateral is minimal. And most importantly: It's something unique. Not some design you see on every corner, you know. I kinda like that, too :-)
