VaxPass Guide
Hi Brooklyn College Students, in this video we will be going over uploading your CUNY Vaccination information and activating your CUNY VaxPass. At the time of recording, you will only be permitted to enter campus with your VaxPass and your ID. Your Vaccine card and Excelsior Pass will not be accepted as proof of vaccination. Individuals who are not vaccinated can get tested weekly at any CUNY site and will be allowed entry with a negative test.
To activate your VaxPass you will need to complete these 3 steps.
- Vaccine Verification
- Install the Everbridge App
- Get Your VaxPass in Everbridge
Step 1: Vaccine Verification
- Sign in to CUNYfirst
- Click Vaccination Verification in the CUNYfirst Menu
- Upload your vaccination documentation as instructed.
- Brooklyn College HRS will review your vaccination documentation within one business day. An approved status is required to receive your VaxPass
Step 2: Install the Everbridge App
- Install the Everbridge app for iOS or Android:

- Android: play.google.com/store/apps/de...
- Open the Everbridge app
- Click "Find an Organization or subscription" button on the Everbridge splash page.
- Search for CUNY. Select the CUNY - Health Screening option. Do not choose NYAlert.
- Set your notification preferences and click the Done button
- You will be taken to the CUNY Web Applications Login page. Sign in using your CUNY Login credentials (Username: Firstname.Lastname##@login.cuny.edu).
Step 3: Get Your VaxPass in Everbridge
- Open the Everbridge app, click the Shield icon in the bottom right corner. If you do not see the Shield icon, restart the Everbridge application.
- Click the *VaxPass* Request icon:
- Click Submit. You will see a “You’ve successfully submitted your form” banner.
- You will receive a notification of a new message in your Feed within a few minutes.
- Your Access Approved confirmation token will be available within your Everbridge Feed (a copy will also be sent to your college email).
- Open the VaxPass confirmation token for review by the CUNY Screener when you are entering a CUNY location.

Please confirm you have uploaded your vaccine info to CUNYfirst and that it is approved before using the Everbridge App. It takes a couples hours for Everbridge to sync with CUNYfirst.
For everyone that has having trouble seeing the shield on the app, I did too. You have to log in to your CUNY account to submit your vaccination verification. It on the menu where you usually click student center. Only until after your vaccination info is submitted and approved will you see the shield in the app. I wish they made that more clear in the email which is probably why people haven’t been submitting their info. I hope this helps 😊

How long did it take CUNY to approve your vaccine info?
I did not see any shield icon. I even restarted it dosen tes already.

Same here. I've also tried resetting it multiple times. It comes out as a blank white page.

i literally predicted the same thing with this app and it fucking sucks
How can I update my vax pass because it shows it expired?
As usual, an app used by the city is going to be trash. I am not surprised at all with the issues I'm having.
I even reinstalled it and it still doesn't show up 😩
