I love my Vaultek VT10i, but it pushes the limits of portability. It’s gotten the job done but sometimes I want something smaller, lighter and all-around more portable. That’s where the LifePod Comes in, more specifically, the Colion Noir Edition LifePod.
In short, The LifePod is a lockable, water-resistant, dustproof, airtight, lightweight, Lifestyle case that can float. The LifePod Is Lifestyle neutral in that its use is limited only by your creativity. You can put your phone, wallet, watch, money, passport, knife, condoms, flask, AirPods, diamond-encrusted 300 black bullet chain, you name it. However, I mainly use it as my lightweight Travel gun safe, so that’s my focus of the Colion Noir Edition LifePod.
LOOKS
Aesthetically, the Lifepod is pretty simple or minimal if you want to be all hipster about it. Take the black camouflage grid pattern on the top of the cover. It’s just a bunch of lines Crisscrossing each other, but there’s something so visually satisfying about it and I think it has a lot to do with the texture in combination with the shape and lines of the Lifepod that makes it so aesthetically appealing.
Besides, who doesn’t like black digitized camouflage?
Protection
My Lifepod is about protecting my gun and whatever valuables I decide to put in it while still being able to take it with me just about anywhere. From a security standpoint, I can lock and unlock this case in two ways. Electronically using the recessed number keypad or manually using keys.
The recessed numbered keypad look and feel rubbery soft, so much so they don’t even look functional. However, I swear I get a small endorphin spike every-time I tap the center lock keypad and see the numbers light up in bright red.
To lock the Lifepod manually, I pull open the tab on the front of the case exposing the manual key lock. I insert the key twist and case opens. To lock the safe manually I hold down the lid and turn the key. Now, if someone wants to get slick and wants to try to pick the lock, I can actually lock the lock from the inside so the lock can’t turn at all. This means the only way I can open the life pod is through the keypad. I’m going to be honest with you. Most of the time I keep the lock locked. If my battery dies, I’ll power it up using the micro USB port and unlock the manual lock until I can get a new battery.
I am not the biggest fan of leaving my gun and or valuables in my rental car when I travel, however, sometimes I have to do it, especially, in states where I can keep a gun in the car but not on my person. When I have to do this, I’ll take the 19” steel cable that comes with the life pod and tie it to the bottom of my seat or if I have to leave it in my hotel room, I’ll tie it to a permanent fixture. I’ll then place whatever documents, money, keys, etc, in the organizer on the back of the lid and then place my gun in the bottom portion.
Let’s talk environment. Water, air, dust, and external impacts are going to be the biggest environmental threats to my valuables inside the life pod. That’s where the dual compression latches, Red Rubber Gasket seal and high-density form interior come into play. After closing and locking the Life-pod, the two compression latches on the side of the life pod are used to clamp down on the Red Rubber gasket seal creating an airtight seal on the inside of the life pod giving it an IP65 water resistance rating and making it dustproof, not to mention the life pod will float with up to 2lbs inside. When I’m less worried about someone running off with my life pod and more concerned with just keeping it in place when I'm engaging in all of my awesome tactical outdoor activities, I can just use the tether lanyard that is also included to keep my life pod in place.
As I said before, there’s a rugged simplistic beauty to the life pod but it’s not all looks. The case in and of itself is pretty damn rugged while still protecting the contents inside. The 3-piece high-density foam plays a big part in this foam does a really good job of keeping everything in place while observing a lot of the shock from any impact the life pod may experience.
The LifePod has become one of my favorite lifestyle gadgets. I use it primarily to transport my guns when travelling, but the longer I own it the more uses I find for it. As I said, it’s lifestyle neutral, it’s the only limit is my creativity.

Helloim Throwed sorry brother. I lost all my guns in a boating accident a while ago. But after I moved to North Carolina they all floated back home.
This case is rock solid (like other Pelican cases). kzread.infoUgkx3jMFPw9QX_Iu4DNcjW-t9AZ4_iNhJzhE I paired it with the Master Lock 140T set of padlocks. The US Airways ticket agent that checked the case was impressed by how completely the latches were secured. The case has layers of removable foam cubes that can be easily adapted to the contents of the case and keep everything secure. After declaring its contents to the ticket agent, I was allowed to put this case in other checked luggage. Due to its size and black color, this helped insure that it wasn't misplaced by a baggage handler. TSA was (apparently) happy with the packaging as well. If you plan on flying with more than one of the main items, I would recommend buying a larger Pelican case and just transport the case as another piece of checked luggage.

Being able to disable the key is good, but using a decent core would be better. I haven't seen one of these in person, but what I saw here in the video, that hinge looks like it could push out. No Bueno. I know something this size and price range isn't gonna be an actual vault. But I wish they would at least try to make it reasonably secure.

I bought mine and I really like it. I like how it holds all my EDC in one location. Even just for my wallet and money, it is more secure than how I had them before. it is easy to configure and it is light and there are a couple of additions on to lock it to desks or other areas I may be at when I'm out and about. Get the addition that adds the holder to the lid of the device. It was not included in the one I bought, but it is a nicer way to hold extra credit cards, passports, etc.

Mike's Law is currently in the works. It will allow Over-The-Road drivers to carry concealed, as long as their CCW has reciprocity with the state they're currently in. This is also in conjunction with the NRA (and GOA) fighting to get national reciprocity passed across all fifty states.

Not going to lie never thought I get from LPL to Colion Noir but somehow it brought me back in a circle lmao, Gotta admit I didn't think Colion had a response for the lockpick but clearly he's up to date with his shit, Gotta give props to him and Vaultek for making the quick adjustment. LPL is awesome too.
You should get with the lock picking lawyer and see what he says about the security of this case. It looks good, but I'm very curious as to just how secure the key lock is.

Ryan Singer It’s made out of plastic and the fact that it costs over $100 is pretty ridiculous. It can be easily pried open with a screw driver.
These are great. I have one to transport my gun to and from the range. They are small enough to fit into the range bag.
I bought mine today on Amazon and I picked the one that is your design.

Paid for mine last week... waiting for it to come in the mail
I love this. My only drawback is that a CZ P10c won’t fit with a suppressor barrel and +2 mag. 15rd mags made everything fit with a mag loaded. Now my concern is if it’ll fit a TLR1. I know a TLR7A will fit but I won’t decide on what WML I’ll use based on what fits in my lock box. All around it’s pretty bad ass. And I’ll always support Colion Noir.

Just wanted to say thanks for all you do for the 2nd Amendment and our rights to carry. This Vaultek LifePod will work well for me as I am a Long Haul Trucker from Texas and have to pass through those states where I cannot carry.

That thing is sexy! I would totally get one, except, when I travel, I wanna lock ALL my stuff so the TSA doesn't steal anything. I use my Pelican 1560 as a combination suit case and gun case and I can have real locks on the outside of the case.

This is really cool, I plan on purchasing the Vaultek MX Wi-Fi Safe for at home storage, but this looks great for travel. How does it work with airports/TSA? I know they can get pissy about locking mechanisms even for checked baggage.
It actually is slightly disguised with the lines as at first glance it looked like a speaker
