Dude, keep this series going. I would love it if you also start a vlog and take us on your "A day in the life of A320 pilot" And explain the difference between sim and real life!!! I think that will go viral. Many pilots show their daily life, but not many can really help us simmers visualize the difference.

I just joined vatsim yesterday and saw your videos here on KZread. This will be very useful.

I've been reading, watching & listening for about 10 days now, and about to take my first flight on the weekend. Feel kinda confident, but I stumbled into this vid and discovered a few things... Will deffo watch the whole series before I take off. Thanks !!! o7

What may also be helpful for people is getting a notebook. I have a notebook where I log all of my flights and each individual flight notes, etc. This way, I can look back on any of my flights or if I’m using an airport again, I’ll have a better idea of what to expect from ATC. Plus it feels more legit having a notebook!

When I was learning to fly it was very common for students to be more nervous about talking on the radio for the first time than actually flying the aircraft. Just do what I did and write down exactly what you want to say. It's pretty amazing how quickly it goes from incomprehensible gibberish to an incredibly efficient conversation.

First time using Vatsim here. When I connect to Vpilot, a jet engine sound starts in the sim, but yet there are no planes around me. So tried it on an empty airport and indeed the jet engine sound is always there as soon as I connect to Vpilot. Is this normal? How do I turn it off?

You need to download liveries and model matching for vatsim. Search for FSLTL on youtube for a guide on how to add those.

Just one doubt, I cleared the vatsim test, but rather than flying i want to be the one of atc, like i want to guide the aircraft only. So what should i do, I just want to be the one of controller for the game

You need to contact the vatsim division for the country you want to control at, they can show you how to sign up for training. Be warned it's alot of work and you will start right at the bottom. Good luck 👍🏻

Thanks for watching. Sometimes voice atis doesn't always work especially in the UK. You can read the ATIS on VPilot when that happens.

You no longer need to choose your server it will use the best on for you automatically based on your location.

This was going so well (and I was following every step exactly) until you opened to your SIM settings, then I went into my own SIM (which is FSX and different from yours and no0where near as detailed) and when I opened FSX it just defauted to the regular game computerised ATC, (which was devastating as Im so desperate to hear Vatsim) what Sim do you use, also do you know how I connect VATSIM with my simulator?

Vpilot works with FSX too. It's all exactly the same procedure. I'm using Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

Right click the download, and run as administrator. That seemed to work for me for Vat-Spy, I would think it should work for vpilot

When I was learning to fly for real, what they gave me was a couple of pages of pronounced of what to expect so when I called the Clarence delivery, they would write out what I was gonna say, and they wrote out what the controller was gonna say back so knowing ahead of time what they were going to say makes it much easier to understand it and then once you get it, it’s easier to understand in general.

For vpilot? Just install it wherever you want. If it's xpilot you need to choose your xplane root directory.

I have no idea if anyone here would know if my friend had x plane 11 and I have x plane 12 if we could make a private server to play together on vatsim
