    Some of the most important changes announced at the conference: - the table is shortened by 10 cm (4 inch) - increased comfort for smaller players while maintaining safety, - New rule! The competitor has 30 seconds to recover from each shot. This will increase the dynamics of the fights, - The judges will be more mobile on the stage, they will pay more attention to the position of the players, chin and shoulders, which have always had and will continue to influence the verdict, - Each verdict will be presented by judges after the fight, they will explain the round scores and argumentation. - PunchDown and SlapFIGHT together created the "World Slap Fighting Alliance" to create a ranking, consistent rules, organization of the world championships and others, which we will learn soon - cooperation with Charlie White aka "moistcr1tikal"

    Prośba do organizacji Punchdown, zmontujecie jakieś tłumaczenie anglojęzyczne. Najlepiej nie przez tłumacza, który tłumaczy bezpośrednio zawodnikowi co ma zrozumieć. Najlepiej było by zorganizować komentatora anglojęzycznego, żeby razem tłumaczył z polskim całą gale. Mamy dużo zagranicznych widzów szkoda ich stracić i warto docenić. Pozdrawiam cały Punchdown i oglądających.👻👻👻

    yeah, they were obviously both bruised like plums, but it was pretty clear that vassily did more damage in the end. Not to mention, people seemed to give a lot of weight to that last slap of zales, since he took vassily off guard with the surprise slap, but its kinda bullshit if you think about it. Of course, vassily using the step in tactic to reduce the slap force is unfair, but in contrast I think its way more unfair to get a slap in when another contestant is caught off guard and I think the judges did not take that into account. However, even then, if we just look at the outcomes of all 5 slaps, zales always recoiled on every single one of vassily's slaps, although visibly less on the 4th and 5th slaps. On the other hand, vassily practically didnt so much as take a single step back for slaps 1,2 and 4, whereas on slaps 3 and 5 he indeed does recoil from the slap, but visibly less than zales would on every other slap. Overall, I think there was some bias from both the crowd and the judges which let zales wiin in the end. Not to mention, you can tell vassily is just having a shitty time overall, the only person he can communicate with in that whole arena was the translator, who frankly speaking didnt really seem to give that much of a shit about the whole event in the first place, only came to translate like 3 times throughout the whole thing from what I can tell.

    For non polish speaking people. During the aftermath interview, Zales stated that he was shook by Vasili because he did not expect that much power from his slaps, and when asked if he has anyone else he wants to defeat and if he thinks he's the best in the world, he replied "Yes I'm the best... in Punchdown" Not gonna lie that's hella humble for a guy who just beat one of the best slappers in the world.

    First 2 rounds were so confidentely won by Vasily, but that third round basicly won the battle for Dawid. I ve noticed that Vasily doesnt take damage from most of the slaps he is facing but if one shakes him out , he becomes wayy weaker in defence and attack. He should’ve put more points into defense, and a few points in attack, Vasily has a special ability that instead of taking damage he takes stamina damage, which untimely decreases his defense. Dawid has raw attack damage and a little less defense than Vasily which is why his face got swollen. Dawid’s special ability is significantly increased power overtime while in battle. But since they destroy their brain health with each slap, they are committing self arm, and as such are mentally ill at best, which invalidate the athlete notion. the sport relies in half on the ability to accept destroying one's brain. this ability is not a skill, but a sickness at best, so this is not a sport.

    @@dempart5558 I kinda understand your point, but I can confidently say that this is not a mental ilness or disorder like those of a transgender for example. It's people that love adrenaline rush and high risk situations. It's similar to MMA or jumping off a cliff to a lake. They are old enough to decide, and even though in MMA you can "defend yourself" and this is promoting people risking themselves, I think banning everything that seems slightly controversial messes up with people's freedom. It's scarier to know you can't do this if you want to than actually doing it.

    @@fullshark09 i can watch this match between this polish dude and the russian, as an interesting case of how people can develop slap power and defense technique, together with special genetics gifts. I can watch this as a fringe event, as a "scientific curiosity", while still knowing these guys are still destroying their brains. But the context is everything. The mental illness part becomes evident when the people watching and participating, start thinking this is a legitimate activity that can become mainstream. When this threshold is crossed, which it is currently the case thanks to Dana White, then things become serious, on a cultural level. To be honest, i did have a lot of problem with mma, which i love and hate at the same time, for the techniques and the clear brain damage, respectively. I'm currently trying to stop watching mma. I am as much scared that people will be banned to participate in this, as this becoming mainstream. If one enjoys this activity, one should complain actively against it becoming mainstream. The key thing is that culture, society, is not something we can act upon without restrain, and without expecting pushback, ever, in any circumstances. People who truly enjoy watching this should vehemently complain against Dana White.

    Vasily definitely did more damage and probably won 3 out of the 5 rounds imo. I don't know all the rules, so I wonder what the rules are in regards to flinching towards the slap which is what it looked like Vasily did? Is that a defensive tactic. I definitely think the judges were impacted by the crowd on this one too as the crowd was hard rooting for Zales.

    It'll never be accepted in America as a sport: 1. Beards cushion slaps, so they need to be banned. 2. No punishment for turning your head. 3. There's controversy, as shown in this video, about people angling their heads downward, which reduces surface area for slapping. That needs to be controlled. 4. These guys clearly abuse steroids. That's why Russia is banned from the Olympics for the time being and Russians need to compete independently. 5. What about potential for breaking an opponent's neck, or giving them concussions? At least boxers and MMA fighters wear padded gloves. Concussions are a big problem in wrestling, which is harder to safeguard in that sport. This is too risky to make mainstream.

  • 2 жыл бұрын

    @@Maxx_XIII Agreed, this should not be a sport, especially dangerous if you are facing the strongest heavyweights against each other, yes, that could result in more than a K.O! For low weights, it seems rather safe just as a funny game/kinky thing...

    You can see here Vasily's technique fully exposed here in the 5th round. He likes to shrug his traps and lean in, shortening the distance the slap can accelerate and shortening the lever, reducing torque. If you're going to do this, don't complain 80% of the time that you got hit in the ear. Dawid tilts his head down but does not move. If you speak Polish, the Punchdown rules state that you cannot flinch or move or you will be penalized, and this final round sealed the deal for Vasily in that regard on top of being knocked out. All things considered, this last round was like a 7-10 if we're speaking in boxing terms.

  • @Austinsayshi

    @Austinsayshi

    3 жыл бұрын

    It didn’t really look like he was flinching or moving throughout the other slaps. What really sucks is that Vasily has a much shorter wingspan and has to lose power just to get his slap across the table that was way too big for his size. Already he was at a disadvantage in that aspect. I don’t think the table should ever get in the way of any slaps if they want even competitions. Zales earned the victory for sure tho. Rocked him with the slaps in the later rounds.

    @@lzrrrrr3370 The argument is that although both tucked their heads only Vasily was moving at the moment of impact(to reduce the power of the blow), which is a breach of the rules as laid out.
