The guy looked like veal parmasian..... I don't even want to try to imagine the pain that he was in. I hurt just looking at him.

It’s probably the saddest character arc of all time. One of the best acted too. I think the entire show is the best acting ever.

Weird how HBO demonised that poor woman by suggesting she risked her unborn babies life by going near her husband.

Also weird that you and I both are commenting days apart after this has been up two years. I guess I am not the only one thinking of this! And yes, thats the media for you. Its never accurate.

It's based on her first person account in the book "Voices from Chernobyl". Thr Dr's asked her if she was pregnant or had children and she lied so she could be with her dying husband, she didn't fully upstanding how radiation worked and it was unintentional (although nuanced). After reading the book hbo really stayed true to her first person account. It sucks that media in her country have demonized her following the HBO series...

Her husband wasn’t radioactive, the baby died due to the exposure from the incident

@@bigships At the time, this wasn't understood as there had never been a nuclear accident of this magnitude. It was assumed that anyone exposed to significant doses could also become radioactive themselves (or at least dangerous enough to harm others)
