Vashawn was my minister of music when he was in Chicago. The songs he penned like my worship is for real, silent tears, and nobody greater and so many more go to songs where I find singing when I need it the most. Thank you VM

Fake Forgiveness, whew, thank you, I really needed this, after the loss of my only child, it has definitely tested my faith and its hard for me to "See the Goodness" I'm broken and I'm trying. Hearing Vashawn story has Definity lifted me as when I attended "Sweet Holy Spirit church" back in the days, his music and his presence took my worship to another level. I'm just trying to find my way back

So I found out about Vashawn Mitchell in the South Atlanta area going to church and bringing my now husband to Christ. Vashawn Mitchell was the worship leader. I didn’t know so much about him!! So much as changed at the church now including the names 😅but I will never forget the worship experience that he would give. Thanks Willie Moore and Vashawn! I listen to you both for different reasons and I appreciate the transparency.

Awesome, these session need to be advertised more often. There are a lot of men and women living lives of hurt and pain because of absent parents for whatever reason and they need to know their history, their why, and who. Some say they don’t care but it shows in the life, some of their actions, habits, way of communicating etc.

Willie Moore thank you so much for sharing your testimony about inner child . The Lord introduced me to that journey at the beginning of 2023.. he came to me in a dream and showed me my preteen self during that time of my life I was very broken and shattered but in the dream I saw myself whole and complete singing in the choir as a preteen. Then by the end of that year I found out some serious news about my biological identity that I did not know. Willie Moore thank you so much for bringing vashawn on the show to discuss this necessary topic.

Willie Moore, I absolutely appreciate this man to man open heart assessment review. So many men are wounded and bleeding out daily, due to unaddressed childhood trauma. VaShawn's transparency and his willingness to reveal and heal, his ability to expose then close some of those lingering life events, initiated an honest sense of self assessment, to stop ignoring the inner hurting boy, crying out for help. I appreciate you utilizing your platform, by initiating and sanctioning it as a safe space for men to to become vulnerable without judgment while healing. To God be the glory, for His grace and His mercy.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Bless you brother!

I am so glad to see the resurgence of Vashawn Mitchell and thank you for doing this interview with him Willie!! My take away is that he is human and he pinned the songs by the experiences he's been through! I wanted to have a conversation with someone today to tell them that the reason I left is because I didn't "see" him as human. It stems back to my Daddy. I told my husband today that I likened my Daddy to God and my Mother to Jesus. Jesus I could go to but God.....nope....only if it is life or death but not for consistent relationship!! My Heavenly Father is still working on my view of Him, but pastors and parents and parents need to show themselves as human as well! I make it a point to let my children see me in failures and disappointments but also see me call upon the name of the Lord Jesus to help me overcome!! Thank you Vashawn for taking the time to do this interview and letting GOD's goodness "I shall not die but live and declare the works of the LORD!" show in and through you!!!

I'm middle aged and struggle with abandonment and disconnection & bouts of anger. My grand parents passing intensified these feelings. I recently informed my therapist that one of my short term goals is to reach out to the person that gave birth to me be vulnerable with my feelings & have a conversation.

God introduced me to VaShawn Mitchell in 2019. I find that I have always listened to his music. However, one morning on my way to work "Joy" came on the radio. Instant love, singing alone. Once at work, I forgot about my experience. This is when I knew God was introducing VaShawn to me. His song "Joy" played as soon as I started my car, headed back home. From that day forward I have been paying close attention to VaShawn. When I look back, "Joy" was made in 2016. How or why did it stir my spirit later in 2019. This is a great interview. Somehow, I was answering his questions before he spoke. And I answered correctly. There is something/connection that God wants. I smiled when I heard that he is my VIP. I have a confession: I normally won't get too close until the person is comfortable. There is an answer but private to him.

This episode was profound and healing as well. I'm glad that I really listen to this episode! I love Vashawn Mitchell songs and music in general. His songs got me through and drew me more to God's grace and love. I truly was inspired that God allowed him to tell his story in his timing. Thank you, Willie Moore, for this interview with him. We are not perfect, but God still chose and loves us still.

I am so inspired to know that VM is from Harvey because my family history and roots are from there. I was partially raised in Harvey, Illinois. Anyone from Harvey knows that today, it is anything but inspiring, though it once was. The Dells were from Harvey and they also attended Thornton High School. Near the little league park, a street is named after the Dells. It’s called Dells Way. My family’s house was on Lexington one block away from the little league park. It was once known as the flower house because the entire front yard and side of the house were full of flowers planted by my grandmother. My dad attended Thornton High School with the Dells. He also sang with them prior to them signing to Motown. Interestingly enough I am an up and coming recording artist with music soon to be released. I am grateful for VM sharing his phenomenal music throughout the years and his amazing testimony on this podcast. Thank you Willie Moore Junior for all the awesome interviews you’re doing. I wish you both continued success.

FAKE FORGIVENESS.... my word. That is a whole sermon. I've been there for real. You have to forgive completely. Even if the person needing the forgiveness is not physically here. We have to forgive and move on but we have to really DEAL with the issue at hand. If we do not DEAL, we never HEAL completely. Your music has changed my life. Thank you for sharing your talent. Thank you for your transparency. Thank you for calling me to do better and continue to be better. It is a journey. Counseling is an AMAZING tool even as a person of faith. GOD wants us whole and healed. We cannot operate where HE needs us if we do not operate as WHOLE, HEALED, AUTHENTIC people. At 49 years old, the lessons have been many but I refuse to give up because HE has a reason for me and us all.

This interview was soooo awesome. So enlightening. Therapy in the black community needs to be more of it. We hold on to things, we need to let go, deal with it, move forward. Vashawn Mitchell is a great singer. Loved the video at the beginning. I listened to you on the radio never seen you in person. I’ve shared this with family and subscribed. “Side note- you are handsome.

What really struck my heart was the difference in talking about situations vs dealing with it. It hit me, so that means that I have to now reevaluate the way I have been able to move on from things in such a matter of fact type of way.

Great interview. I've learned I've had some fake forgiveness. And it's true, some days I desire marriage and other days I'm good with me and just God. I believe He will give clear direction either way. Amen.
