Constantly switching between 2-3 bands, mostly depends on the rc difficulty as 80 percent of my score somes from there

Sometimes the VARC difficulty plays a role. I think this video is broadly indicative. U think Jatin is saying "If there are 4 levels of competency, then what should you focus on at each level?" I agree that the score volatility is very often due to the level of difficulty. We guys decided to put a score bracket instead of talking more broadly in terms of "competency levels" in order to strike a chord with students. I think students intuitively get the idea of which band is perhaps more relevant for them. Your point on the level of difficulty being a serious factor is super-relevant.

Hey, I think this strategy could really help me. My scores fluctuate throughout the mocks that I have appeared for ranging from 1 to 30 and accuracy at 50%. But my plateau is around 17. Should put this into use from the next mock onwards. I think the level of difficulty and RC Selection play a crucial role in this as said by the mentor.

Update on Mock scores Writing this update after a week (2 mocks and 2 sectionals have been taken) The strategy worked beautifully for me my scores as follows Mock -1 28 Mock 2 29 Sectional 1 - 24 Sectional 2 - 31 Checked percentile also huge jump from previous I am not saying the strategy shared by sir is some secret but the thinking that accuracy and zero error definitely helped. The switch from attempting all without a strategy and with good approach makes a definite change. Thanks sir and 2IIM

Hi Bhumika. Sectionals usually are of lower complexity than mocks. This of course depends on the secitonals in question but it might explain the score difference. At this stage, I would recommend attempting past year papers as mocks to get a good indicator of your performance. Use that score to determine your range and implement the relevant strategies.

Score fluctuations are very common with mocks. Don't stress over one low score. :) Make sure to analyze your mistakes as well as unattempted questions very well and learn from them.

Looking forward to your update Hrishikesh. Hope your scores improve after implementing these strategies. :) Since your accuracy is fluctuating, double down on it and attempt only those questions where you are absolutely sure of the correct answer. Once it stabilizes, you can afford to take a "little" more risk. All the best!

Apart from the strategies discussed for your range in the video, keep practicing RC & VA questions on the days when you are not attempting a mock. Read longer and complex articles every day for at least 30 minutes. The long Aeon essays (2000+ words) can really help build reading momentum.
