I watched this film at Independence Park when it was first screened in 1980. Was a kid back then.

I learned a lot about Vanuatu. It is amazing that they behave, look and dance exactly like their brothers and sisters in Africa. Black people should really unite.

Yes grateful to the PNG... Our main road through capital Port Vila is Kumul Highway in remembrance of the PNDF Kumul force that deployed here to quell rebellion leading up to independence.

It was brilliantly executed by PNG Military...They used PNGDF military band as decoy in Port Vila when they were already on the ground on the Island of Esperanto Santo using two landing craft as gunship and troop carrier all the way from Port Moresby supported by two old DC3 and Nomad transport planes. They caught British, France and Australia by surprise as they knew that PNG military did not have the logistic to carryout distant military operations. Credit should go to Sir Julius Chan!
