I don't get how this guy missed peeling off both protective films on the electrostatic stickers. It literally has a #1 and #2 instruction tabs for removal. That sounds more like a user issue than a Vantrue issue.

Despite the problems mentioned, the fact remains that this camera is in a completely different league of quality than it's competitors, ESPECIALLY at night time. I have this and my wife has the Viofo A139 pro and while daytime footage between the two is comparable, the night footage and license plate visibility of the N4 Pro is miles better.

The problem that he mentioned I have never seen someone faced except him. I have been using the cam for months and it’s the best thing I have bought recently. Worth every penny spent on it.

When adhering stuff especially to windows you have to keep in mind if its cold your window is cold, I would reccomend using a heatgun to heat up the window and the adhesive, Same with taking it off, Adhesive gets waaay stickier if you heat it up. Just a tip for evereyone

This dude must have got a defective cam. I got the same dashcam for two of my vehicles and couldn't be happier. The 3m tape on the base stuck directly to the windshield with no problems. I even smacked it and tugged it a few times to make sure it wouldn't fall off. If anything if I were in a wreck that alone might hold the windshield together 😂 The sd card cover supposed to come with a string attached so it doesn't fall out. Also I've had zero issues with the magnet on the cover. The app is fairly easy to use, plenty of videos on youtube for settings people use. Manual it comes with is not for me so most of the setting options I got from youtube. After 4 months I've had zero issues and recorded plenty of near misses and funny moments lol

Secondary camera cables connecting to the camera itself instead of the mount is also a mess for cleaner installs. Don't know why none of these dashcam makers can come up with cleaner solutions.

I hear a lot of complaints in this video. What about a suggestion what camera would you suggest instead of this one?

Thanks, I was leaning toward this one, but it's much bigger than I thought, and the power button on the left end would interfere with my mounting location to the right of the sensor pod / mirror mount (LHD). Plus, there's the extra expense of the interior camera, which I'd just leave turned off. It is one of the better performers, but I'll pass for now.

Thanks for making this video! Things like the ones you pointed out is very hard to spot on looking on the specs. I would send it back instantly if it would split apart like yours did or if it would also fall down. For the money it cost it should be premium straight through!

The round end cap should have a rubber type stem which is plugged into the main camera unit

What software do you use to zoom in and clear up the license plates? A still or a moving car? I just got a dash cam and the Vantrue app doesn’t have those features. Do you use iMovie or Final Cut Pro to do that, or what other software?

I hate that you can not use the app , while car is off! Also how do I record in cabin and front so when I go to download it, it will be in one from and not two separate frames?

I'm in Australia and purchased this Vantrue N4 Pro 4K dashcam for my Mazda 2 (2020) and found on opening the box that it is very heavy and BIG. There is no reason from a design standpoint to make the whole that heavy and the cord (from the cigarette lighter) is not long enough to hide it in the panels so it had to go direct and in front of the dash - very ugly arrangement. The double sided tape that came with the factory couldn't hold the dashcam on the windscreen because it is THAT heavy. I got rid of the factory tape and used a 3M tape and it also couldn't hold it on the windscreen due to the WEIGHT. Moved to using Loctite superglue and it held only for a few days. I'm considering throwing it in the trash bin. This device is too heavy for ANY glue to hold it on the windscreen. Very badly designed. Product not tested at all.If you live in a country that has a normal summer (30+ C), you wont be able to keep it glued to the windscreen. Highly recommend you do NOT buy this dashcam. You have been warned.

VanTrue needs to come up with a Magnetic mounting system for holding the camera in place on the windshield - something similar to the Garmin Magnetic Mounting system.

@@anhtunguyen368 Consider creating your own magnetic mounting system. Epoxy a strong magnet onto the windshield. Epoxy a metal plate onto the bottom of the camera or mounting system. However, I suspect you'll have other issues with the VanTrue dash cam SDHC card. There is no way to talk to a VanTrue Customer Service Person - you can only email 'em - that's NOT Customer Service in my mind. With Garmin, you can call & talk to a real live person in Tech Support on any Garmin Product. I've considered Viofo 229 Pro, 3 channel dash cam, however, I'll most likely stick with my one Garmin 57 camera & leave it at that. I've been using a Garmin 62ST GPS when out in the boonies hiking or looking for geocaches & a Garmin 2597 GPS for car, everything works, Map updates & Firmware upgrades are easy peasy on my mac with Garmin Express

I bought one, but when I saw where it is made and who make the software, I returned it. I really do not care how good the camera might be, I can not give that much information to a Chinese company. Such as my location, driving habits, videos, etc…

ZERO STARS THE VANTRUE N4 DASHCAM, A CRAPPY PRODUCT!!! This is the 2nd time the N4 FAILED me!!! I had a 18-wheeler accident on 9/23/23 and the camera did NOT RECORD THE IMPACT AT ALL! Previously my wife got rear ended, and it didn't record the impact theN either! Their product is crap and I'm planning on letting social media know that fact! The camera only recorded the aftermath of the accident when I ended up on the side of the road, NOT the impact! I spent $700 US for two of these cameras and they both are crap!!! IF YOU WANT A CAMERA THAT TAPES WHILE YOUR PARKED OR DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD BUT NOT HWEN YOU HAVE AN ACCIDENT? THE N4 IS YOUR CHOICE! Bob in Houston, TX, USA

Nope. No lead up footage to collision, although it did tape a short drive we made earlier in the day. In fact the camera STARTED to tape when we came to a stop adjacent to the interstate highway. There were no EVENT files in the camera.@@raymondamoroso2049

Could be he had a defective one. I regularly check the cameras to make sure they are working properly. Seems this was a personal problem not a dashcam problem 😂 Need to stay on top of any cam to make sure they are working.
