I HIGHLY recommend the Viofo a119 dash cam. I have the V3 version, and the quality is great. Only downside is that I can't connect to phone, I have to use a usb cable (which they give) and connect it to my computer at home to view footage. I'd give it a 8.5/10! It's selling for $99 and you can see the footage on my channel although the footage quality is greatly decreased through KZread's publication. it's much better before going through KZread's editor, i promise!

@@minnesotavideos4487My only downside is that I don’t own a home computer or laptop, just don’t really have a need for one, a dash cam where I can access the footage on my phone would be better in my instance but I nonetheless, I will check it out, I appreciate your input. Thanks!!

@@Los1722 Then i recommend the VIOFO A119 Mini version, it's smaller and has Wifi compatability so you can connect using your phone. The downside is it costs $40 more, at $139. But whatever dash cam you choose, don't forget to buy a micro SD card!

In your video, you talk about Blackvue external batteries, are they compatible with the VANTRUE Element 1 and 2? Because it seems to me that on these batteries there is no USB-C input or output? Thanks for the review. I was encouraged to buy this camera, but now I regret it and am about to return it to Amazon. The reason is that the app doesn't work on my iPhone. I have the most up-to-date version of the app as well as the latest version of iOS; however, when I connect to the unit's WiFi, all the app does is spin its wheel in the "live view" screen. It doesn't show the live view, and it won't let me get past that to the various controls in the app. As far as I am concerned, the app is garbage (even though the camera seems good).

Try disabling the celular data in app settings. That solved the issue for me.

@@NomadicVoltron Thanks for that suggestion. I got the same recommendation elsewhere and gave it a try. It worked perfectly, and now all is well. I am still not happy, however, with Vantrue's lack of response or support.

I’ve had one of these for about a week now, but am having trouble downloading files. I turn on Wi-Fi, connect to my iPhone, pull up the video files, select a files and start the download. Within a few seconds the Wi-Fi disconnects. The download never completes. I try this again and get the same results.

I've been having trouble making the app work as well (see my comment above). The app seems like garbage, and Vantrue offers no support (they don't answer requests for assistance).

I have to connect to Wi-Fi every time when I’m in the car. I assume my phone and unit Wi-Fi will automatically connect every time when unit is turned on but it’s not. I have to manually turn on unit’s Wi-Fi then connect to it with my phone. Any solutions ?

At 9:10 - "You really only get one shot at this...". What does that mean? Also, mine does not stick to the "electrostatic" sheet at all, there's no attraction, nothing sticky, nothing. How do you get the camera mount to stick? To me the "electrostatic" sheet is like a phone screen protector, i.e. when you peel off the film #1 there's a slight adhesive, a little bit sticky, which makes it stick to the windshield (or the front of the phone). Then remove the film #2, and the part on the windshield is perfectly smooth, no adhesive or anything. I then removed the paper 3M label from the camera mount, but when I press it against the film on the windshield, it doesn't stick. What am I doing wrong? Thx,

That means when you’re sticking it to your windshield make sure it’s aligned the way you want it because once that tape hits the glass that’s it. It’s strong. You only get one shot at mounting it the way you want it, or you have to rip it off and use the spare piece of 3M tape they give you.

At 8:45, when you're about to stick the camera mount on the plastic sheet already on your windshield, is the camera mount sticky to the touch? Or does it have a piece of clear plastic on it? Mine is not sticky and will not adhere to the "electrostatic" thing. Did you have to remove, peel off a piece of clear plastic from the camera mount to make it stick? Thx,

The camera has built in wifi you can connect to. It won’t connect to the internet but it will connect the camera to your phone

@@artstech the cam will not stop recording after 5-7 minutes of recording, which means the parking mode isn't working

Vantrue E1 lite already then Vantrue element more expensive but still suck didn't work wifi and upper port charger DC didn't work also damn wasted my time to drive to ups for return. Now I am using Kingslim D4 that is so fast wifi quick setup well, tounch screen.

The parking mode is flawed. Luckily I won't be using it. The CPL filter is good for sunny days, but bad for night vision.
