I just installed these rails on 2022 Sprinter 170 WB. No issues.

Stuff always has to be modified but customer service shouldn't be so rude. They lost you as a customer, Russ. And thanks to your channel, a whole lot more, no doubt. Way to go Vantech!

Hello Russ. At 8:54 it says "OPTIONAL drilling required for A1 hole". That's the first hole at the front, but your index FINGER was BLOCKING. Then we go to 9:58 and you'll see that you didn't start on the 2nd hole as instructed. That's why nothing aligned. Watch the video again.

I’m sure you’ve already discovered this by now but in case anyone else was curious.... Mercedes changed the body in 2019. This is the new body (2019-up). At the time when VanTech came up with the rails, the 2007-2018 body was the newest which would mean “2007-up” in the manual was accurate (at time of printing). Their rails will fit 2007-2018 but as this video shows, it won’t fit the 2019 and newer.

The Vantech rack on my Promaster City fit the holes. I didn't like the way it set, so I sealed the edges. It also made a very loud whistling noise going down the highway. Something about the way the hollow cross bar caught the wind. I filled it and taped it, which shut it up. They are pretty cheap.

From what I’m seeing is you started from the wrong end. I just ordered same for mine. Fits perfect. Instructors say Channel A starts at Front, B in middle, and C in back. They have letter markings on them. You started from the wrong end guy. It also says the first and last whole have to be drilled IF you want use of whole rail

Well done now to finish it up and add those fans, it's all coming together.

When you install the Vantech rails on the sprinter 170 did you have extra holes on the rails that you didn’t use?

Don’t you hate that when your order is wrong and it stops you completely? Why didn’t you heat the plugs from the inside and push through at the same time? Not many of us have 10x32 or 1/4x20 taps hanging around, then again it might even be metric. What a pain but what a fantastic job Russ. Problem, solution, solved you’re the man. Russ is (for now anyway) only putting in an electric toilet. No shower or bathroom sink.

Hi, I ordered them (4 days ago) and received them today, I check your video before installing in case there was something wrong. I have a 2014 sprinter 170' normal version, the hole are inline perfectly with my OEM van hole have you notice every track have a special position to be and side. For exemple A track can still be wrongly place if you put the first hole at the wrong side of the track. Mine fine properly and exactly.

I had them ship and ask they send the 170' standard to be sure they don't do a mistake since I live in Canada and didn't wanted to rebuild them or send them back.

If it were mine I would bed the rails in dycore and not ever worry about them leaking after you install the interior.

Yes their idea of customer service is taking the customers money and not returning their calls. I know you've had that problem before where holes and other things don't line up... I know I have. You're doing the right thing. Rather than hassle with returns just fix it and never use vantec or that supplier again.

Did you try to flip the rails around, but it looks like the Rail holes are spaced to wide anyway ! Kind of a Bummer to start your day off like that...but let's hope that's the only problems you have with the New BEAST !

Russ flipped and flopped, arranged and re-arranged those rails and nothing ever lined up correctly. Dang nabbit! ;-)

No. Russ just wasn't 100% that day. It fits perfectly.

Leonard truck accessories sucks for calling people back I lived across the street from them and bought a shed from them and never could get corporate to call for any questions

It seems these days nobody cares about their products. Manufacturer and vendor attitude seems to be "suck it up" or no response at all - "you bought it, now its yours: deal with it". Very discouraging. There are exceptions (e,g, Battle Born).

Good job but a pain. Will never use that company. Beware of these guys

I hate fails and probably you do to as far as sound deadening goes flex seal seems good or a rubber based paint with bubble wrap cardboard any porous material will do lots of small holes in material up to half inch thick or build up to one inch then fiberglass maybe your choice their be always budget your sinister partner lol ; ) looking good so far. heck just be creative surprise me

Hey Russ, you didn't deserve that. You put faith in suppliers, pay good money and get service like that. Vantech could have had a real bonus for their business, showing your viewers how good they are, instead, they've chose to go down a different path and will suffer for it. They are totally out of order Russ. Vantech should refund you the cost instantly and take a hit for their company. Anyway, great video as always, looking forward to the Van build on the Sprinter and this years adventures. Keep on trucking, talk soon and up we go! Happy trails, from Southampton, UK.

I will excuse poorly written instruction manuals and misaligned holes, but poor customer service is a deal-breaker.
