I like the body

I lucked out and got in an the 1st round of VRD's. I haven't built mine yet though, but i am looking forward to the build. I have been tied up all summer with work and getting caught up with other things that I was avoiding, so I also have to do some maintenance on the RC's I did manage to get out and run. The temptation is to jump right back into a new build, but instead I have bookmarked Josh and Matts build videos with yours and plan to watch them as I catch up with everything else that got ignored, before I sit down with this build. The only part that is hanging me up is what body to run.

I hear that!! You’ll love the build, typical vanquish quality. Watch Josh’s vid about errors in manual and watch for that 3rd bearing on page 14 in back half of trans. Cheers! Enjoy the build!

You can put the shorter shock ends on if you want it a little lower. They are on the parts trees.

3 racing gold stainless 3mm screw kit. Amazon has em for cheap

4 link and chassis mount servo causes bad bump steer.

I’ve got the SCX pro kit, and I’ve got a feeling the vanquish kit is a little better performer, and certainly a better with fit/finish than the axial. I have a Phoenix portal kit from vanquish that is handily a better kit in terms of fit/finish than anything from axial. I was a little let down by the Scx pro kit. Especially when you go to add the genuine axial upgrades. I added the aluminum motor plate and it was just a poor fit for the bearings and created a ton of end play for the spur gear, so I had to shim it quite a bit to clean that up so I could get proper mesh with the motor pinion gear. At almost full look and full bump a 4.75” tire on even .475 hubs rubs the very front of the chassis rail. Also brass knuckles and rear axle end cap weighted were a must, otherwise it’s just as high of a COG as a standard scx-10 kit. The stock springs are also very soft, which really hurts side hill performance as the down hill springs collapse and allow full droop almost and the uphill side shocks unload. But it does perform well now that I’ve got all the little short comings sorted out. And should be a little better yet once I get some new springs and Deez shock bandz on it.
