Vannoy S. - Family Recovery Speaker - "Laughing my way to Wellness"

Get ready to have a good time and laugh! Vannoy is a wonderful speaker with a deep and profound message delivered in a fun and entertaining way. Sometimes people who love alcoholics can become overwhelmed by our emotions and feelings, and it is often therapeutic to have a nice laugh! This tape provides plenty of humor, along with a HUGE amount of hope and experience from an Al-Anon great!
Al-Anon / Alateen, known as Al-Anon Family Groups, is an international "fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope in order to solve their common problems." They "help families of alcoholics by practicing the Twelve Steps, by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics, and by giving understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic."

Thank you so much for sharing your story. It brought tears to my eyes. I am only at the beginning of my journey with my alcoholist husband but your story gave me hope that no matter what happens I will survive with Al-Anon and God.

I got something out of this chair that I haven't heard and really taken into my heart until Vannoy said it: the forgiveness came with the 9th step. The forgiveness came when she learned more about alcoholism. I know lots about the disease, I've heard many AA and NA speakers, but today, listening to this chair, I really heard it and took it in when she said that her husband didnt want to hurt his family, nor did they want to be doing the things they were doing, but they just couldn't stop. Today, that message finally really meant something to me. And even with myself, the al anon, i didnt want to hurt my alcoholic, but i couldn't stop until i was able to actually stop- with the program and my higher power, and emotional sobriety.
