Hi Anna, love following your vlog! My two-penny-worth. If you really feel you like sailing, it would seem that a way forward would be to get more experience - a mixture of courses, and crewing for other people. See what it is like in Force 8 to 9 seas! Crewing for other people essentially you would be getting your experience on their dime. And when you feel ready to get your own boat, you will have the confidence to handle it.

Just a suggestion... Every year from about now to November all sorts of sailboats on the east coast head from wherever they are to the Caribbean. So if you rolled up to Beaufort, NC or Newport, RI - for example - you would be able to sign on as crew and see what this sailing stuff is really like. 💯 crewseekers, sailnet many others will help you find what's available. Remember, the only thing better than owning a boat is having a friend who owns a boat...

Never too much, not crazy. That rush you felt from sailing can come by doing anything new and exciting. I think vanlife can make us feel like we are living groundhog day over and over. Loved the video, hope you visit us in BC if you head to Canada.

After 80 years I've had 28 foot, 32 foot and 70 foot sailboats; 2 5th wheels; and a 7 meter RV in Europe. So welcome to the choices of how to live. You can also "boobdock" on a sailboat especially in Washington state, BC and Mexico. Anchorages are free. Just like an RV you can go simple, complicated or anywhere in between. A well documented series of RV and sailing experiences can be found at Gone With the Wynns. From a simple VW to a largeish RV to a 42 foot catamaran to a sophisticated hybrid catamaran. All well documented. Thre is also lots of excellent books on sailing. And some good extended You Tube series by solo sailors and young couple sailing offshore and inshore. Enjoy the experience and the relative freedom, alomg with the hard slogs. And be happy. Cheers, Roger

I've done van life stuff myself in the continental U.S. and its VERY fulfilling for anywhere from 4 - 18 months (depending upon if you break up the journey to do seasonal work in the summertime or winter when its either too beastly hot or cold to sleep comfortably in a van or if daylight hours are too short etc.) but its not something to do for years and years on end. There's plenty of van life channels on KZread which are now defunct because the content creator closed the book on that lifestyle. You can only go to so many caves, lakes, waterfalls, mountain vistas, etc. to where they do lose their wonder after awhile.

Hello, I am a truck driver, when I get home I like to relax by watching sailing channels so if you get a boat I will definitely watch! Thanks

Girl… we are sooo much alike in some things - and I’m 50 😂. How you feel about sailing right now is how I am feeling about van life. I want to do it NOW but I’m trying to rein in my impatience and do it right. That way when I get on the road I don’t fail and have to come back to bricks n sticks. I laughed when you were like “I gotta go “ .. I see sooo much of myself and my current light/fire of inspiration in this video 😂 much love and safe travels! ❤

The ending monologue is literally everything that's been in my head trying to get my head right to jump into the mobile lifestyle. Also...whatever shenanigans that just sparked in your brain, I am so ready to see what they are!
