It’s hard because I don’t want people to think I’m being a complainer because they don’t understand what it is that that we do. However, because I do understand what it is that we do and the things that we power on the road and what that means in a long term Consumption way I can’t just overlook something like this especially considering it is such a large investment for an individual just getting started. I can’t imagine if my first power unit wouldn’t have been able to power my refrigerator for hours at a time because that would’ve put me in a really bad place and I don’t want anyone else to be in that bad place so having to speak up is not going to be as popular with the company, but it is going to be more honest for the people who watch my channel and that’s what really matters to me.

At the end of the day, I always wanna make sure that the people who watch my channel are protected and educated about the different items. I think it’s very important for companies to consider the use of the items in a variety of different ways instead of just a singular way and I think well this size and capacity is good unfortunately With that one major portion not accounted for it’s pretty unfortunate and I think that with some improvement they could definitely have a really nice unit, but it needs to have that improvement to be effective for everyone

We travel in an a class and with that we have quite a bit of power however, we have a couple of power banks that we use outside when we are setting up our campsite for various things for the kids for us. This would not be a dealbreaker because we could charge them while we are driving and then pop them out at a campsite. However, if someone was using them for their sole source of power that would be a bummer. Thank you for sharing all of the details with the products that you use so that people can make choices.

Thanks for being honest. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t have made it where it could have continuous usage either. All of the leading ones on the market have continuous charging. It seems like for the price that they want for it, which is similar to the price of the bigger units that they would’ve looked at that. It just seems like a cheap one and comparison doing the bare minimum.

  • @BunnyPlaysHere

I’m not exactly sure why they didn’t choose that as a feature, and it could be that they weren’t thinking about people who would use this as a dedicated power source as opposed to a spot charger. Either way, I wanted to make sure that the people who watch my channel have that honest information because I think it’s very important when you’re spending that kind of money to know what the capabilities of the item are.

I understand you’re not wanting to say anything bad about a company that was so gracious to send you something however honesty and integrity or something that I have associated with you since you gave me such wonderful advice in the beginning. I appreciate and I know people will appreciate the fact that you were brutally honest, even though it was clearly an uncomfortable situation. Since I have been living on the road in my tiny NV 200 I have learned a lot of things that I never thought I would know about power based on what you said here I completely agree. I would never purchase this if it was my only power unit. If you have a refrigerator, you can’t have it unplugged for hours, and if you needed to charge this on a solar panel, even if it charges faster that still means that the refrigerator would be unplugged for at least two hours, which would make everything inside of it go to waste. It just seems unreasonable to use this particular power station by itself. Thank you for being honest. I’m sure it’s great for other stuff but not for life like we do.

It makes it really difficult whenever we know our specific needs on the road and I want to make sure that others are set up for that as well especially people who are just starting out because I know it is a large investment to purchase any kind of power station. Thank you so much for these words.. I want to always make our journey more inclusive for everyone so sharing the small details and the common sense usage is important especially for those starting out. I will always take the offer for a power station if i will be near basecamp when they reach out because like you mentioned there are so many out there but not all are perfect for everyone and with it being a HUGE investment I want to help everyone make positive choices which will help them along the way. I also do turn down hundreds of products per month because they do not relate to what we do, they do not make sense or are just not something I feel comfortable endorsing on the channel. There are a lot of companies which do not regard the subject matter of the channel and just want the audience.. some companies want unrealistic things from me in regard to dedicated videos for things which are so small it makes no sense to do so... fact is you cannot accept every brand that reaches out...it isn't fair to the audience and doesn't make sense...

I’ve watched a lot of people do reviews and talk about how great something was and then have to work on it the very next day that’s not what should happen when you spend that kind of money. There’s one girl who’s been reviewing a power station that just keeps having issues, but she keeps talking about how good it is Cleary. It’s not good. We see that she she just wants to make money. I’m sure had to worry about putting out some thing that was this brutally honest, but it just shows that you really care about your audience and not just making the money and that in my book tells me that you’re a person that I should follow because you’re honest you’re not going to lie to me. I’ve stopped watching four or five different channels in the past two weeks because they lie or they get combative at their audience. I just don’t have time to support those kinds of people anymore, but you’ve never made me question if I should support your channel. Thanks for being honest and caring about us who watch it.

I don't sell anything for this reason and others....

This is an honest opinion from your perspective and I think that you saying if this is the only power that you have, it’s not good it’s valid because you’re right it takes a while to charge those things and your food would rot if the fridge was unplugged. I have wondered why you do so many power station reviews in the past but now I see why. You normally show us how things work and kind of explain for the beginners what kind of power that they might need or how to assess what they might be using, which I think is really helpful but you also show a variety of different things and now I realize that the price points on those are all sorts of different prices. But now I see that you are reviewing so many of them so you can show us which companies are good and which companies are not designed for us. A few years back whenever I started out there weren’t very many companies. Now everyone and their dog seems to have a company just to make money. I even saw a big creator a while back telling people that they could order a whole bunch of power units from China and put their own brand on it. No offense to that guy I don’t think that everyone needs to be a power station expert, especially when they clearly are ruled by the Almighty dollar. This was one of the most clear and honest reviews. Keep doing these money because not everything is a good product and sometimes seeing somebody that you trust tell you that can allow you to see that a good deal is not always a good deal. Much respect.

I can’t tell the cost of the unit, but it holds promise - its marketing and packaging are good, and it looks good, but of course no point in any of that if the guts aren’t hooked up right for through charging. I hope the company gets that resolved. My Bluetti EB3A works great, but of course is much smaller. I would love to have a reliable (!) bigger guy that looks only a bit larger, to keep in my van as emergency backup. Having a “one-charge” emergency battery (like the old school UPS) is OK, but I’m not really interested in that. Through charging is just at this point an expectation, not a luxury. It also really should have more outputs, in its power range. Thanks for your review!!

  • @BunnyPlaysHere

I definitely wanted to make sure that I put this information out there because I like you think that most of them should be capable of through charging at this point. A lot of advancements have been made to make this more universal and I think that companies are starting to realize that people who are buying these for van life or for preparedness are going to need that continuous ability to use the power. For example, taking the van out of it if I were to use this as an emergency back up to run a small refrigerator at my home I would still need to have continuous power so my food would not go bad. Unfortunately, this is more of a recreational station. I’m going to start categories of different units that I use based on how I feel that they are designed lol this is something that could be used just for fun for a few things here and there that don’t need to be plugged in constantly, that’s gonna be a much smaller demographic of people I think that they’re wanting overall however

@@BunnyPlaysHere That’s a thought. The price isn’t bad for the amount of power. It could be used (fully pre-charged) for a weekend camping trip maybe, then upon return home it could be recharged at the owner’s leisure. But absolutely as it is, it couldn’t work for vanlife. I’m “lucky” enough to have a big battery bank, but still have “ran out of power” a couple times since I went full-time ~1-year ago, so the Bluetti came in real handy. But folks like you who keep the gennie in constant use absolutely require that pass-thru charging capability. I don’t think it is unreasonable to design and market these little guys for BOTH uses. Thanks for the response and keep up the fun!!

@@BillWalker3rd Yes for a weekend it would work or some people in the comments mention for a spot charging outside of the van or bus or rv it could work if you are not relying on it being the main power

I don’t understand why they’d reach out to somebody who does Vanlife if they don’t even understand Vanlife. Do they not research the market that they’re trying to push into? Because I would never buy a power station that I couldn’t have plugged in while also charging. Most people only use one power station so they could be the main station.

I believe that some companies have great products they don't work for everyone in every scenario however. But for my channel because of the way I share things I encourage people to think about their needs and in vanlife if that includes a fridge or anything else that is a big thing to account for.... and this unfortunately misses the mark for that

Thanks for the review. Bummer, you can't charge anything while charging the unit. I understand how detrimental that is. Also, does this mean that while it's plugged into the solar power you can't charge anything either? As a single power station, that isn't good.

According to everyone who is reviewing it unfortunately any time it is charging at all those ports do not work... that is super unfortunate... Certainly would hope that the company revisits this feature and makes improvements

Liked the video because I like you, but otherwise I would put a thumbs down because this is not a great product for Vanlife. I wish companies would do a little bit more research before they try to put something out just to get a cash grab.

I am aware that this is some thing that some companies do not do, however, for a person who is relying on that particular charging method to power their refrigerator or other portions of their journey that is not the best so I wanted to express that. Again, it’s a great power station for someone who does not need that feature, but for someone like myself who advises others in regards to a more common sense approach to life I would not suggest this as a primary power source for someone who does need those things

That is a great question... i typically keep the power stations for bad weather... I have discussed on my channel before that our power situation here in Texas is not always great and we have power outages more often than I would like to admit. So in those times I roll out the power stations... I use them for my fridge and move everything into my van fridge if needed... i use them for lights, cell charging... dvd player if i am without power for long periods... heating blankets or things like that. As for the other things I have I use them as backups and replace items in my van as needed. With the fridges I gave away one ... i just try to rehome things when i can to people i know

@@BunnyPlaysHere that is great to hear! It’s not really my business I know, but I was just curious because you had mentioned that before and to see how well that it’s working for you in a variety of different ways even even beyond the reviews makes me happy for you. Also, you shared that refrigerator and I’m sure that you don’t regret doing that because it was helpful but at the same time it’s kind of unfortunate that that person received it.

I appreciate that you don’t sell your things because there’s several channels that do and you see them listing stuff on Facebook marketplace when you’re in the area and it’s just very cringe. You know they aren’t reporting that income. It’s just a matter of time before somebody reports them.

Contact the company. Those who bought off Amazon or at Freight Harbor the 260 unit may get refused customer service, but if you bought directly from the company I understand they are very good about issues even post warranty.
