Dad use to say he was Jack of all Trades Master of none. He did carpentry, laid flooring, roofing, plumbing, mechanic, night watchman, Bread deliveryman. He was never really out of a job. He said work at a job till you knew what you were doing, then if a better paying job showed up go to it.

I love working on the road. Even temp jobs. I’m not good at sitting. I meet lots of people. Learn new places to hike. The moneys there if I need it but it’s mostly keeping busy. Sitting at a computer or just watching the birds fly won’t work for me. Heading to Yellowstone now. Dorm life in my 60’s!! Confidence & a smile will go far.

That's how it is done. Making yourself available, when others may not, such as a bagger in a grocery line, all the while knowing you will not be there for very long, and in today's climate you probably also get to select perishable food items at the end of each day. I worked this way in kitchens too, freshly prepared food, warm environment, and close to date items. The Managers were always sad to see me leave, as l never missed a shift.😉

Awesome video Bob. This is how we were raised. If you don't have a job create one. A job is a job. I don't care if you're shoveling dog poop or flipping burgers. A honest day's work for an honest day's pay! We also were taught the bartering of goods and services. Much Respect 4 hard working honest people. Now these youngster need to see people like this guy. He's not begging or stealing from others! I love it! ❤️ I was telling a friend earlier. Parents need to be parents and stop trying to be their childrens friend! Discipline saved me LOL! 😆 🤣 😂 Our youth need guidance and to be taught work ethics! 😃

I love new ideas for earning money as a nomad. I’m especially intrigued about the van rental with Outdoorsy. I’m finally about to buy a used RV for my own travel & this gives me some ideas & encouragement to think outside the box for passive income, since my age & disabilities limit some of my choices for work. Thanks, Bob, as always!👍🏻

I, too, have been watching videos like this one for ideas on how to earn money as I go. I have been wanting to start the vandwelling lifestyle for quite some time. I'm still fighting for social security/disability (which is taking a LOT longer than I had hoped). As soon as I am able to get it, I plan on getting a van to convert into a camper van, convert it, and hit the road. I am very fortunate in that I have an absolute TON of camping gear to use in the conversion to save money.

My fave video here!!! Hands on skills are becoming a rare commodity now that you've mentioned it. More rare is the multiple skilled trade hands on set. And that takes investment of time and life teachers. And because of this video I shall reassess my worth. The electricians back in the day didn't call me MACGYVER for nothing. Many thanks for the Life wisdom's passed along for the tribal knowledge. I am successful because of all of You!! Believe it! And I shall pass this along as well. 😁

This guy has the right attitude about work and he has experience in many different industries including back breaking work. I can relate to him in many ways. I met my first husband while working in Oregon and Idaho. I worked on a potato harvester sorting out the big clots and whatever else we were required to do back in that day and age and my husband drove the truck with his best buddy and my sister is still married to the same guy she met during that time. We have such a big world and this guy seems to have a lot of experience and a wonderful attitude and dream about what he wants to do when he settles down. This has been one of the best interviews. I’ve seen Bob. Keep up the good work and keep those fine folks visiting your channel.👍

Hi, I love this channel and Bob is a remarkable individual. I just retired and planning on living the van life for the years my health allows it, that I hope is many. Those experienced at living the van or rv life have a treasure of knowledge, and I'm hoping to find a way to tap into it, and would like to seek their advice on a few things. I've watched all of Bob's videos but still have questions. Can you fine readers of these comments please advise a novice like me where there is a blog or site that would allow me to directly interact with experienced full time rv and van adventurers who weather travel from season to season, and disperse camp legally on government land? I know how to find information on where dispersed camping is allowed, regulations, weather, emergency preparation, etc, Bob has taught me a lot. What I'm hoping to acquire is the opinions and advice of these experienced individuals. Any suggestions are much appreciated. I'm not beginning my adventure until June, so your kind suggestion will not be too late if you don't read this until the early summer of 2023.
