VANLIFE DISASTER! Broke In Whilst I Was Asleep Inside
Our micro campervan van conversion got broken into whilst I was asleep inside . Living vanlife can be dangerous especially in the UK. England vanlife uk with the uks high crime rate it was only a matter of time before our van got broken into. The perks of having a stealth campervan I guess.

I'm a 76yr old female, that started my van life in my late teens - early 20's...& am still @ it, on & off. I never leave ANYTHING IN THE FRONT AREA OF MY VEHICLE, unless it's completely covered with 1 of the several large patterned cover sheets, that I always carry in my vehicle. If thieves can see what is there, they'll break in to get it - even if it's only of value to U. Best of luck to U, from Kimberley, BC, Canada.

That's crazy. I bet you have a few tricks up your sleeve and some stories to tell. I hope to get a van in the near future, ironically to escape this den of thieves I currently live in. Noisy, thieving druggo's I must escape from. I will be sure to remember not to put anything valuable on display. Though I plan to camp way away from here, away from all the scumlords.
I'm glad you weren't hurt & a very valuable lesson learned! You have a positive attitude & won't let this deter you from the lifestyle you love!! Happy trails!!
I love your sense of humor and the way you told your story! We will probably get some motion sensor lights for the top of our van after watching this. Despite you having spent money on the new cards that you needed for work, it was so good to hear that somebody decent found your work back and returned it to you.
I was sleeping in my van in Hammersmith and two guys tried to get into my van. They walked off quite casually once I banged on the side of my van. Called the police which was on the scene in 10 minutes. They drove around the neighborhood for a bit, did not spot the perpetrators. It’s disturbing though. Thank for sharing. Be safe.

Thanks for the great video and optimism, was very much needed after the break in I had today
You make a difference for those of us that are planning to get on the road and for those who already have. Thank you for everything you do.
This is second video I’ve watch today where vandals have put bricks through camper window. You stay safe out there.
When I park up in my van for the night, I put up those silver fitted insulation blanket things on the inside of all my windows and screen. Yes, it takes away from the whole stealth thing, but it does have the added effect of making sure nobody can see in. Plus if potential thieves think there is someone inside, they're going to give it a pass. I stay well off the beaten track as much as possible too. That may be a double edged sword as there will be nobody to help should the worst happen, however I can look after myself and would rather there were no witnesses if I did have to defend myself & my property!
You did get a break and a lesson learned. I really appreciate you sharing this experience. I learned a few things myself!

Newly Updated Safety Suggestions: for Campers, Explorers, Travelers, I just happened to see your channel, and others similar channels recently, and I think that you, and others sharing their actual reality, and some have expressed some of the up, and down sides to van, RV, or vehicle living. Although, I just noticed your KZread channel, and other similar channels, displaying van living. I just wanted to remind everyone to Aware Be of your surroundings and Alert, I just posted this anyway to help anyone who may benefit from these suggestions I believe that it is very helpful, and beneficial to others who may be thinking about this type of living without actually thinking through, about the some of the realistic problems that could occur with vehicle or van living etc... People need to know what up sides there are, as well as some of the down sides of vehicle living. I believe this channel, and other channels have been informative to others, including myself. Although, I am NOT living in a vehicle or anything like this. I feel that you , and others KZreadrs sharing this with your viewers will be very helpful. I wish you ALL the Best with your traveling endeavors. I shared this with several other travelers, as I watched their KZread channel for the first time, as yours, and I shared with them this information that may be helpful to you as well to others. Therefore, I would also like to suggest a few Safety tips, and items that may help you, or others in your viewing audience. Although, you may have knowledge of this already, I am not sure, so I hope this will be helpful to you, others or someone. *Keep a Extra working cellphone with you or in your vehicle. You can purchase inexpensive phone with a very low monthly price between 25, 35, 45, dollars a month with unlimited data and text, and some have Nationwide coverage Do your research for the best fit for you Consider Carrying Several Extra portable cellphone phone chargers, and cables. Consider theses items: *Mini portable power charging station. I have also seen outdoor portable solar powered power stations, that can be recharged from sunlight this may be very useful to have, to power your devices. *Invest in a Cellular signal booster for outdoor use, and camping situations to boost or amplify your cell signal and reception. Consider also the purchase of a WiFi signal booster to also boost your WiFi signal. Research to see what you prefer. *Very Inportant: Invest in a SOS distress electronic signal device, this a kind of device can send out a distress signal with your exact location. Glad your alright😊
I'm so sorry this happened to you! It's a serious situation and yet you're humor gave me a bit of a giggle. Thank you for sharing your situation. The plexiglass was a very good idea on their part! On the other side of the coin I've just been made aware of four Carpenters camping in their utility van and some thugs decided to break in not knowing what a very very bad idea that was going to be for them as the four Carpenters dove out the van and pummeled the thugs,.... so many situations out there.
