I honestly believe 2016 was my peak of like...happiness & health. I look back now and realize that I was just experiencing a lot of great "firsts" back then. First "adult" job making good money, first apartment with a friend. It was also the first time I really let the internet be my ENTIRE source of new music after living years with an iPod. That really isolates you and weirdly some generations will never understand that particular era. That being said, it was in 2016 that this gem dropped and I'll constantly come back to it. It's pure nostalgia and I eat that shit up. Try to enjoy the now, folks. Sometimes we don't know when we're in the "good times".

You saying that about ipods, kinda cracks me up slightly, because I grew up where all we had for music was a walkman with a tape you had to put inside, either with recorded music directly from your favorite radio station you made yourself, or from a tape you had to go to a store to buy... Then CD's came out and it was the same way. I didn't know what "internet music" was until Napster. We had plenty of exposure to all kinds of music without the internet.

I don't know what it is about the Seus animations that makes me feel somewhat at home. I didn't even really grow up watching them, but something about the muted colors and alien landscapes brings a sense of comfort. Almost the same way that the early Simpsons episodes made me feel, it's hard to pin down exactly what I mean. It's as if I could pick a still from any moment in this video and imagine myself living there forever. Maybe it's nostalgia or just a fondness for the old ways of animation. Either way I'd love to just spend a day in the universe of Doctor Seus.

Honestly, Dr Seuss is a perfect fit for Vaporwave. His odd designs and world fit in perfectly for the bizarre 80s-90s early computer aesthetics of the genre. This song gives me the feeling of being in a colorful sunset, with oranges and pinks, on the verge of a big storm coming from the horizon, getting closer and closer as everything fades to purple and then gray.

Love all the visuals from 2:05 onwards, they all feel like a kids interpretation of eldritch horrors. The music goes great with all the creepy designs as well.

This song is special to me. Whenever I listen to it, it takes me back to the time when I was in 8th grade, life was great, I didn't care about anything and just had fun with my friends. I remember cool summer, staying up late while playing minecraft, listing to spotify when this song came up. It instantly burned into my memory. I'm graduating this year. It's hard to aknoweldge that the school is over. I will go to college and start a new period of my life. But this song reminds me not to cry because it's over, but to laugh because it happened.
