A thought I had was that with the nation system and “clan” inspired archetypes we may see themes that they couldn’t make in the past without coming up with new clans like Ice Benders or Sky Pirates. We may finally get Nekroz like units in Vanguard.

Nations may have changed, but one thing remains constant and that is Dragonic Overlord, cuz you know he’s still kicking after 3k years

While the usual crowd has the typical meltdown over seeing any form of changes, I do think merging the clans into nations is a smart decision. Uneven clan support has always been a big problem with the game, most clans barely get one wave per year and that one wave often isn't enough to keep them relevant, by reducing it to 5 clans/nations it'll make it so decks don't have to go for such long dry streaks without support.

I sure am gonna miss clans itself and my V-decks, but I'm sure for balance and design this is a good decision (and LORE FINALLY). Thanks for summing it all up!

And then they drop D 4-5 years later for Vanguard Q standard. This is the second reboot they had to make. I dont think we can trust bushiroad anymore. You really wanna invest in a card game that will be made obsolete in a few years... The game is a ton fun. Thats why I started playing since G but it feels really heavy dropping money on cards that will be worth nothing later :(

Nothing is going to match the original feel of OG Vanguard, but this might just be worth a shot.

all these changes are amazing. I might come back to the game. The new rarity stuff is amazing, the nations are amazing, the ride deck is great, I'm blown away.

I really like the new changes but ultimately the cards ascetic and play style will be the ultimate deciding factor for me. From just the descriptions of the trial deck and the quick flashes of units Dark States is currently my forerunner with Brandt Gate and Ketter Sanctuary only being behind because that’s where golds and novas are. Design wise cover card of the Booster is definitely my favorite, so hopefully it’s play matches what I like. Pretty much the upcoming Dr O stream and subsequent reveals will be the deciding factor.

Nations makes sense on a lore standpoint. Since Gyze disappeared along with imaginary gifts and Harmonics Messiah sleeping meant that all the clans are vulnerable to any future events that might occur so it would be better to unite each clan of each nation as one so that they'll be more powerful enough to combat any of these threats as they can no longer rely on HM when something bad happens.

This nation system reminds me of the civilization system found in duel masters. I would love to see how the lore will develop and i will like to see the lore connect with the anime. I wonder if we will see G units in this timeline since they came from the future. Best of all i applaud bush for giving all players the opportunity to get all 5 starter decks for essentially dirt cheap, $20 wow.

Now this I'm interested; if you guys know battle spirits it feels like the direction of vanguard is going similarly to battle spirits and it's actually quite good, it means you are guaranteed multiple set for probably every nation so... I would it's a good direction

This also means all deck regardless of clan theme now can have front triggers not just accel ones

I’m looking forward to coming back into this game. I played loads in highschool with my friends (mega colony ride or die) but the game started to add too much content for my taste so I came away from it so the fact they’re basically doing a soft reset of the game is amazing

I was Keter Sanctuary to hope for descendants of Pellinore but I heard Multi-Attack and noped straight into Stoicheia.

Honestly its a little bitter sweet to see clans go but ill have faith that this is for the best. Different Fight thanks for being so dedicated to this game over all these years and to many more. And to my Gold paladins I hope to see you in the new series in the Keter sanctuary.

Not gonna lie, V ended up making me fall off this game hard and not even seeing the reimaginings of my favorite G era units excited me. Zero had my interest for a while but eventually I hit a burnout with it I couldn't shake. overDress is giving me hope and I want to come back to this game. Whenever lockdown ends I wanna relive the magic of going to locals and enjoying this game with friends again.

My issue is Aichi is just naturally a pro, and he's played far less card fights than in the first timeline? I'm sorry but just no.

@@CommandingArena the v series wasn’t that good i agree but acc that’s the original story from the manga, they just altered it a tiny bit. Game wise I like both G era and V era. I have no qualms about any of the eras tbh not even the G era. I am excited to see what’s new for vanguard.

I might get into Premium with this, I was already considering jumping into DP with your list. I don't even play the real game (ZERO is my first) and I'm kind of excited. I may start when this is released.

1) I hope that the V sets provide enough of a boost that many clans can do well and V won't be such a stale meta for 3/4-5/6 of the year. 2) The stock should be plentiful enough to match the demand from every player might buy from every set, but also keep prices from being too outrageously high.

This, is the kind of thing I want to see more of from Bushiroad. No shitty, unbalanced, poorly written remakes. Just something new and exciting!!

Hoping the new Brandt gate gets some proper D-robo esque love at some point! Though I won't complain if we get more mecha girls too

The spin on the gameplay is ''interesting'' but the everyone is reacting badly on these news for good reasons. Our collection is made useless onces more. This is the second time Bushiroad designed/powercrepped themself into a corner and had to push the restart button. Can we really trust Bushiroad at this point? Why should we invest in a card game when the cards lose all value 5 years later and cannot be used in 50%, now 66% of the games formats.

@@darkbribe777 honestly, considering how badly it seems Bushi screwed themselves last year, this feels a lot more like a “hey, we pulled our heads out of our asses,” kind of thing; basically this is meant to try bringing back the players and shops that have dropped them more than supporting current supporters, but that’s just my interpretation of the situation

I say we can trust them as they gave us everything we asked for and more in this reboot. This is set up for greatness with every clan getting support every set even if power creep begins to happen, everyone will be doing it so nothing will be overpowered. i have high hopes for this, bushi wont mess it up this time.

Maybe Vanguard will do an sp pack for specific characters like what buddyfight used to do where you guaranteed one per box but it's random whose pack you get

This may pull me back into the game. The Ride Deck seems a very smart move to make sure players can always play the game. What I've taken away from them going for Nations over Clans is that it's essentially a wipe to all those aesthetics and play styles we got with Clans. The Dark States Trial Deck sounded very much classic Dark Irregulars. I hope this doesn't mean everything will boil down to being based around one look or playstyle for the entire Nation. Very unsure about the over-trigger as well, that seems a dangerous route to go down.

I love the nation support type cause I feel like the clan aspect was so prominent no one really cared to represent their nation just their clan. I support the dragon empire cause of Nubatama but looking at it as nations I’m not sure which will be my favorite nation cause I’m not to fond of dragons.

New Link joker seems cool

This will make decks more fun and varied, still hope that they make the clans still distinct enough to make their own decks instead of the meta deck being a hodgepodge of the best cards from each clan within a nation.

i've literally been watching the anime since the meta was in the link joker era but never was able to get into the game since going to shops was a hassle and none of my bros were willing to play (plus the TDs were pretty crappy and the prebuilt decks I got were a scam but I didn't realize that until recently) But now... I have my own car, I can drive, starter decks are 4 dollars... it is finally MY time!!!

Im a little scared for this new direction. If everyone is getting support every 2 months, then power creeps gonna kick in early, but if everything is broken then nothing really is. They kinda have to power creep otherwise, people wont buy the new nation stuff every set. Bushiroad also has to be careful with the cards in the nation. If one clan ends up being a lot better or worse then the others, then that can be really bad,kinda like how accell was bad in the beginning. I really hopes this doesnt happen but even gear chronicle got broken enough no matter how bad the support was in the beginning.
