I really like the looks of this. It reminds me of the Lochsa. Ive seen a few pretty significant manufacturing and fit and finish issues secondhand, and had my own share of issues with Tuya knives, so its a hard pass no matter how much I like the looks. Edit: you mentioned a gritty pivot... Every one ive seen has had a pivot hole and bearing pockets that look like they were milled with a chattering masonry bit...

The Lochsa! That’s what i was reminded of when i saw the blade on the cheetah. Excellent reference! It’s my first Tuya knife so I don’t have any other one to compare it to. However, I think this particular model is fairly competitive for the price - the ergonomics, action, and blade is checking a lot of boxes. I already disassembled it and the gritty pivot is no longer an issue - I’ve noticed this is not uncommon with most imported knives; not that it’s ok or anything. The pivot has washers that contact the bearings so I can’t tell how poorly the racing tracks were milled lol.

@@TriedandTrueEDC Glad you got a good one! My local(ish) knife shop had to send back their entire shipment. They're a tiny shop so I'm sure it probably wasn't many, but it was still _all._ I had a Hive that had lockslip due to terrible lock geometry combined with what looked like some overzealous hand finishing. The only way they would even look at it was if I sent it to them FedEx Express, for almost $90. That was probably 5 years ago, so I'm not trying to say that's how it is now or anything but if it wasn't for that experience I'd probably be buying one of these and one of their integrals. They're actually the only Chinese maker I've had a negative warranty experience with. The two others I've dealt with have been phenomenal.

@@CNYKnifeNut Ah man, sounds that they are the type of company I would avoid. I'm all about taking care of your customers and if they were insisting you to FedEx Express a knife back to them for something they were initially responsible for, then I would absolutely stop buying their knives. Really appreciate your feedback here, I'm unlikely to purchase anymore knives from them knowing this. I haven't had any issues with WE or Reate, so I'm not sure how well their customer service is, but I have never heard any negative things about them. I'll probably use the Cheetah until I'm bored with it and gift/sell it down the road.
