Here after Jonathan Glazer's acceptance speech at the Oscar's several days ago...the parallels are absolutely uncanny. Both the films 'Julia' and 'Zone of interest' are about WW2 and the evils of the Nazis. In both speeches, both antisemitism and sionist aggression was denounced. In both cases, it took a great deal of courage. The only difference being, Glazer is jewish himself and was not booed, not on stage at least. And so, almost half a century later, maybe that was an improvement.

Interestingly, that most of the Pro-Pals and ARabs until recently denied the Holocaust ever happenned and claimed the Zionists aka The Jews made it up. Now most of the Pro-pals (Although the ?Syurian President recently made a speech in which he cast doubt on the Validity of the Holocaust) amit it happen, but say the Zionists- aka the Jews are the New Nazis.

This is from 1978, while Gaza was Israel proper. It wasn't till 2005 that Gaza was emptied of Israelis so that Arabs could move in. It was called "land for peace" - that went well, didn't it? 😒 So your comment says nothing for your knowledge of history, and even less for all the halfwits who upvoted it.

Redgrave is easily one of the finest actresses ever to grace the screen. Most critics thought so, most actors think so. Listen to the things Meryl Streep has to say about her, and yes, I'm a BIG fan of Streep, but Vanessa is better and should have several Oscars, particularly for The Bostonians and Wheatherby. Two great subtle performances.

@@michelrodrigues5686 And you deserve to have your opinion as well. We'd better let Streep in on this one because apparently she disagrees with us. I guess it comes down to how we come to our decisions. Most people gage by awards. I guess since McDormand has three best actress Oscars many might now start saying she's better than Streep. They both have three, but Alan Rickman said it best: actors don't win Oscars, roles do, and this is so true, and echoed in a statement by the great Glenda Jackson who is as good as ANY who had e ever lived, and I summarize: Many who should have won didn't win because the role wasn't showy enough, and she ended it with a classic statement: they certainly don't make you act any better. Look up that interview on KZread.

"Truth to power"? WTF? DO YOU EVEN GRASP THE MEANING OF THE TERM YOU NIT? Speaking "Truth to power" isn't a matter of standing up in the middle of a bunch of like-minded folk and telling them what they freaking want to hear. Speaking Truth To Power is getting up in front of someone who can kill you at will and telling them the Truth, that they aren't the wonderful person they see themselves as. It's Jesse Owens looking Hitler in the eye as he took his gold medals. It isn't a stupid actress whining about some long-since forgotten event from a podium in downtown LA. Imbecile.

Vanessa Redgrave is one of the greatest actresses in the world. Her record of magnificent performances both on the stage and screen still remains unequalled. I well remember her acceptance speech as she delivered it that day, but I never understood the furor it generated. I respect her for being so brilliant in her work and so brave in her personal attitude towards bigotry and injustice.
