Sid Davis Productions presents “Vandalism,” a 1953 social guidance / educational film that focuses on the travails of three groups of juvenile delinquents and their brushes with the law in Inglewood, California. The “pranks” pulled by the teenagers featured in the film range from throwing a scarecrow in front of a moving vehicle, stealing merchandise from a shop, spiking the punch bowl at a party, and “borrowing” a stranger’s car. The narrator intones that although these teenagers may often view such actions as lighthearted and fun, they will all inevitably lead to jail time and a police record.
(0:08) opening titles: Sid Davis Productions present “Vandalism”

(0:30) A group of four boys gather around a prone figure on the ground. The figure is revealed to be a scarecrow which they proceed to throw in front of a moving car as a practical joke.

(7:13) Ben and Dave drive the stolen/“borrowed" car into a drive-in fast food stand. When they drop their trash onto the ground and drive away, the carhop takes their license plate number.

We need a film to tell us not to be criminals? Criminals will commit crimes, and they aren't going to stop because of any video.

These Sid Davis films are a trip. 😆
Now they warn me……. 40 years too late 😃
We did the dummy on the road trick which did very nearly end in disaster. Even 'egging' cars turned out bad as it caused damage to paint on cars which we hadn't intended. I was lucky to learn and stop doing these things before people were hurt or me getting caught.

Same here - In Florida we threw oranges at cars that were going 40-50mph and at night - So many stupid things I did and thankful that no one was hurt from my stupidity.

@@hiker64 I know right. Seemed all pretty innocent because the car wasn't going to be damaged while being completely unaware of what else could happen. Because we meant no harm we thought it was all ok. I think this sort of stuff was pretty standard for kids though at that time. Blowing up letter boxes was another one that nearly ended in tears big time and got me hauled down to the police station where I got thrown around by an old sergeant - which actually made me stop all my shenanigans and think long and hard lol.
Who knew that 60 years in the future that "spiking" the punch is now considered a "good " thing..lol

I'll take these "tricksters" over the people we have today constantly breaking the laws and then crying they are the victim
A Shame they didn't have The Pharaohs to tie a chain to the cops' rear axle and the other end to a building. That was in Mill Valley-almost a Decade Later.
Flip side of the story: Responsible teenager Joe takes care of business with Cornpop.
I remember that time, in 76, that I spiked the punch, and two hours later, I had stole a car, Robbed a bank, and got two gals pregnant. I got 5 years for bank Robbery, but 50 for the pregnancy. Lol

Sounds like you should run for Senate 😁
Consequence should be the same today. The problem however starts in the home and media since socially reengineered to churn out delinquents of a 'mother married to father State'.
I remember this film from grammar school. My brothers and I never dared do anything wild.
They need to update and show these in schools, kids nowadays don't have any manners or a clue about good sense.
The Police think they have the Authority to bust Beaver and Wally. This stuff is SO Tame next to nowadays!
I was somewhat of an outlaw kid. (Decades ago). I never desired to tear shit up though. Vandalism is just purely ignorant.
Spiking the punch is an old stale trick! So the boys put a large quantity of GHB into the punch.
Ethel got something, all right!
In Australia it is illegal to leave your keys in the car, if you leave your window down too far its illegal.
I guess it is about time I change my ways. I mean, why should other folks suffer just because I wanna pull a gag? I'm gonna call Ox & tell him I'm staying in.
The hair!
it is one thing to smash the globe off a street light where minor injury if anything from broken glass or no one gets hurt by painting up the side of a building but causing a car crash can kill. stealing the knives is shoplifting walmart is the biggest victim of shoplifting
7:05 "as the police says: GTA"
Seventy years forward and shop lifting, mass looting are rarely prosecuted by progressive D.A. or given jail time by progressive judges. Walmart has become the latest company along with Walgreens, Rite Aid to start closing stores.
Was that James Garner driving the car which hit the dummy??? Looks a little like him, and he was a hot shoe in real life too...
