Every. Singe. Mark 1 car is not actually a bombardier train, UTDC made them, when we refurbished the 1984 cars, by 2011 UTDC was owned by bombardier since bombardier bought UTDC, UTDC didn’t make the original ICT’s anymore so they didn’t have those parts that they needed for the refurbishment, so bombardier made the parts for skytrain and TTC, thats why in some cars the window frames are very different compared the others, depending on the car your riding, there will be no screws unlike the 1991 and some 95 cars, instead theres rubber, which bombardier did since it was cheaper, and the metal bar underneath the doors when you step in, it says bombardier, thats because they swapped those since they were breaking and chipped, they changed the floor, They also switched the lights for bright white LED’s, i don’t think that was bombardier but what ever, anyways they also repainted the inside, not by bombardier, but fun fact if you look closely on the 1984 cars, you can still see some red paint on the fire door and the passenger doors since Translink did a bad job at painting or the paint is chipping, which i hope is chipping so the original red doors will be exposed which i preferred the red. Anyways, the ICT’s are now no longer owned by Bombardier, but now Alstom another train company, they also changed some stuff in the cars, you may notice but now some cars will say Alstom, and not bombardier on the bottom metal door bar, Its a cool fact. BUT THERE NOT ALSTOM OR BOMBARDIER TRAINS, There also not called UTDC’s thats just the company that made them, there actually called ICT’s.
