Oh how I miss those days with young life and little cares.High school in the early 1970s….what a dream gone by.

This will be played at my funeral.Life is mysterious and so is leaving it.Into the Mystic.

Out of a large catalog of great songs, this has always been my favorite from Van the Man.

I've been a Van Morrison fan since 1967, his catalog is huge. One of my favorites is Redwood Tree, it tells a wonderful story about a boy and his dog.

Van Morrison: "Tupelo Honey", "Caravan", "Someone Like You", "Moondance", "Brown-Eye Girl", "Crazy love" and a huge favorite, "Wavelength" so, so many more great Morrison songs!

So many great songs by this artist; I have loved this song for decades. It just settles in your soul.

Even as a teenager, this song touched me and triggered something in me, even though I was listening to completely different music at the time. Many of his songs are too short on the audio albums; You have to see and hear Van Morrison live, then they become masterpieces with the transitions. Live videos last 5-9 minutes. In 2018 he interpreted it on the guitar almost alone, still brilliant in his own way at his age. All the best, good health Van!!!

My absolute favorite Van Morrison tune

Van Morrison often left his lyrics open for your own personal interpretation. I feel it is a life journey song. The fog horn representing the call to go home (death). "I don't have to fear it"!

Massive. Where to start? Try "Caravan" live from the movie "The Last Waltz". Or "Ballerina" from Astral Weeks. Or "Jackie Wilson Said (I'm in heaven when you smile)" from Saint Dominics Preview. Or Moondance. Or "Bright Side of the Road". Or "Just Like Greta". Or "The Daring Night". Or "Celtic Swing", which is an instrumental where Van plays the saxophone. That's just to get you started.

Saw VM in my home town Gloucester in 1993/94...he was miserable, disengaged that night...went off one of my heroes. In hindsight, he's just one of them great miserable buggers.

This song has a strong spiritual meaning like other Van Morrison songs. This is my favorite song of his, although it is too short.

Van Morrison's music creates new pathways in our brains, taking us to new realms that cry out to be explored. "ASTRAL WEEKS", is his early masterpiece, both the song and the album and it is rated one of the best albums of 20th Century music. Truly, he takes us into the mystic.

Tupelo honey,domino,astral weeks,autumn song are just a smidgeon of all his songs to listen to

It's about South Louisiana, most of our men work on the river (tugboats) that escort ships through the Mississippi River to dock, they work offshore, they go out on shrimping/fishing boats and much more. The significance of the foghorn is blown to let everyone know they are almost to dock. Y'all have a beautiful, blessed weekend✌️✌️✌️

Also, both have been long time performers at the Jazz Festival and loved the French/Cajun because we aren't like ANYONE in the USA. Although, your opinion is whatever, yet meaningless to me, cher. I think it's about the journey we take after death.

The album MOONDANCE (Into the mystiq is one of the tracks) is a masterpiece and its side A was considered the best ever recorded ... this album is incredible!

If I close my eyes while listening to this I feel as if I'm floating.

The mystic River flows into Boston harbor and is the location of old shipbuilders. To me it represents a man coming home to his girl after a long time at sea. Imo the most romantic song ever
