It was all about going out with your friends on a Friday and Saturday night and dance . The youth of today have no idea the fun and freedom there was back then. Greatest memories of my young life !!!!!

It’s impossible NOT to get happy with this song on. It’s also impossible NOT to find yourself shaking your butt or dancing. But who else DIDN’T notice that this was an hour long when you pressed play? Me, at around 30 minutes I’m like what ? How long is this thing? 😂

My grandpa introduced me to this song in his 64 Chevy radiobox in Mexico I was 8 during the summer of 2010 Right when Van says "Do the Hustle" I immediately jump in the dance floor and freely tap dancing and jumping around And listening to this now made me think of him and my childhood Rest in Paradise abuelo

Holy fuck I’d say the extended version. It came on in auto play on KZread while I was working. though it is a great song, after hour of this it starts to make you do the hustle

When this song first came out I was 14 15 - i was a jeans and corduroy kid mixed with surfer baggies and earth shoes style closet disco lover. I remember later clubbing in Ft. Lauderdale with really long hair, rose colored glasses, corduroys or jeans and maybe just maybe a polyester shirt. The disco guys couldn’t believe the moves I had and didn’t like that i had all the chicks dancing with me. Awwww the fun i had to this song and lots more.

Hustle forever nothing could be better!

It took him 12 hours to put this gem together ❤.

We need to broadcast this in space for f sake!!!

I couldn't agree with you more...Society was different because values were taught and appreciated. Those values were the real jewels of the person -and it reflected in 'everything'. Our health, clothes, jobs, relationships, etc., etc. No one competed to get something, but everyone lived to be something 'unique'. The music of those times was 'real' because it brought out the beauty of culture(s). If anything is missed, it's the American culture that global society wanted to be a part of. Not 'today'.

Life seemed to be easier and happier back then.

This was it. This was the epitome of Disco. When we would go to the clubs to dance we would recognize this song from the very first note, we'd jump up from our seats, run to the dance floor and in pure harmony would do the greatest dance ever also called The Hustle, god, I miss those days so much.

I watched my mom and her friends perfect "The Long Island Hustle" in our living room to the "Giant Disco Single" of this song on repeat. They'd rest while the arm repositioned to start it over. I watched them dress up to go party in the Hamptons. I watched my sissy practice the Cotillion " showstopper" to this song. They're gone now, and I am still here. This song brings them all alive again in my mind and heart.

I still long for those halcyon days of disco and the beautiful dance music that everyone just had to get on the floor to and let it rip. What a wonderful time we experienced but only those of us that lived through it can really appreciate. As time passes by so swiftly and we reminisce on those days, all I can say is that I was privileged to have lived those times to the hilt.

First time I danced to this was at The Copa in Houston on my first visit there I had just moved there from Toledo in 1980 and was blown away by a huge lighted dance floor packed with shirtless gay guyz and a Fan Dancer***I never knew such bliss! !LOL

The very first time I heard and danced to this was at The Copa in Houston when I came out to everyone there!

My aunt introduced me to this song...ive loved it since I was teen...now my new goal is to get that album cover and hang it on my wall! 😂😍

@@theodoreritola9758 don't forget "hot pants" (bib and shorts), and the mini, midi and maxi - the skirt lengths in the early 70s; wearing shorts under a long coat. There was no pre-faded jeans in those days so you would get a river stone and rub down your jeans to get that faded look.

This was really the one that started the Disco Movement together with KC & The Sunshine Band. KC actually has great respect for the Black Music of the day that time and hired George McCrae to sing his composition Rock Me Baby coz the pitch was too high for him to sing it! Van McCoy was gone too soon! Couldn't believe the news he passed @ 35? He was at his peak when it happened. The guy could've made more superhits had he lived more, no question. He made the best arrangements for the backtrack of Stylistics songs. RIP - 🎵🎶Goodnight Baby 🎶🎵

Times were simpler back when this song was new and THE disco song. Men and women were "dressed to the nines," and all the races got along on the dance floor, just admiring each other's moves.

Some radio station DJ's play a long record when they need to visit the toilet. This should do it! 😂😂😂
