Wanted to share a tip on layering and beating the cold. It helps to have layers that are made for the outdoors. Base layers, mid-layers, outer layers, and shell. Having a solid layering system will keep you warm even while sitting down. Great investment if you intend on living this lifestyle. REI has great information on their website if you're interested.

The assumption for the most part is that it is less expensive to do van life. I guess it could be if one is doing the bare minimum. Financial stability or planning how you will continuously earn enough to sustain the lifestyle is the key. I love seeing you and all others doing it your way. You’re a amazing.

Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much for addressing the menstrual cycle and how to manage it! I've asked so many female van lifers how they do it. Kara from Kara and Nate said "mentrual cup." Helpful, but I was happy to hear more detail. Cuz watching all you vanlifers or folks who live on wheels I always wonder......What do they do when their menstrual cycle come? Thanks for sharing!

Love your video. Finally, a You Tuber keeping it real. So many make van life seem like it is all rainbows and unicorns. Telling how many gallons of water you have blah, blah, blah not helpful. Telling me daily 20 minute showers not happening informative. Don't care kind of toilet someone has. You on the other hand telling it like it is very helpful. Don't think I've heard things like menstrual cycle discussed before. You are blessed with the ability to explain things in lay terms that actually help people. Enjoy your travels.

Just came across your channel. I am 🇬🇧 solo black female part-time car camper, yes not many of us folk camp, that's just reality in the UK and other places, my opinion is based on facts with my own travels before anyone comes with a attitude. I car camp around work. Well I love nature and the outdoors. Did the luxury cruises above 7, did the posh hotels, glamping, in old shepherd's huts jazzed up. The transition came from the shepherd's huts. I loved the experience but realised I was making other people wealthy and not necessarily living my best life, with being free to go anywhere anytime adhoc. So I explored tent camping and , did numerous tent camping all weathers. When a storm hit where I was based and the farmer said be careful, I literally had to abort my tem AM due to tent flood and strom, right into my car as my tent got flooded. Before that I watched living tiny and container houses so had a itch for change. Well That took me into car camping inside a tiny Cheverlot Spark, I never looked back. Now I have a bigger vehicle, after years of research and test drives and missed out sale opportunities. I found my Upgrade vehicle. It isn't a Van but is a cross between a van and car in shape. You can't stand up in it but you can sit up. I choose what was practical due to world today. I've had it for 5 days and have been camping twice already in it. The space has been wonderful, but like everything I have to figure out how to make sleeping more comfortable. Out again this week camping in it. (I do carry a tent for chill space but not to sleep in. ) I wanted a bigger vehicle to explore outside UK I.e Europe and other places but to venture all over the 🇬🇧. I have to agree petrol ⛽ is ridiculous here too now, but it makes me think about places I could visit close to home and far places I plan a bit more in advance. Space has been a blessing. Buying my camp gear and other items for luxury over the years now has made life easier. Very blessed. I have got caught out with menstrual cycle but I am more prepared these days. Incontinence pads lining the toilet help. Then wrap and dispose when you are ready. Less mess. Stay blessed and happy travels. P.s WiFi or data issues had a few in Shepherd's huts. Now just hope and pray on my travels or move to somewhere that has reception which is still around nature. Your points are valid though in comparison to other van or car campers that glorify the experience full or part-time.

Man that's all I'm saying, auntie visits are too much and too often. I want to vanlife badly. What hinders me is I don't want a driver's license and the cycles. How is it 38 years straight with no breaks and it's still here. I constantly say ok next month I'm done no more and faithfully here it comes and due to fibroids it comes up to 3 times a month. Sick of it. Let's talk about it since it must be this way.

I love this truth and you're right, people need to know the behind the scenes truth and how to handle the rough times and being without the necessities sometimes. Being from La and having gone through hurricanes and living out of motel rooms, I can definitely relate to making it do what it needs to do. My only concern is dealing with van issues and breakdowns...that's my biggest fear and what keeps me from pulling the trigger. I can handle everything else. I also love that you and Jasmine have such a beautiful friendship and travel together for the most part. I think that would give me some peace of mind if I had that comfort of a friend....but none of my friends want to get out there like I do. I want to go to MX now ever since you went. Your informative videos mean so much. ❤

Putting into perspective what you say, maybe I'll just start travelling and hoping from hotel to hotel ... when I do start van lifeing because I really can't with small spaces , little water, toilet issues especially during that time of the month, weh! That needs alot... I love the idea of van life but these issues are a necessity ... then imagine if I were to travel with my family.... I'd go nuts! Kudoz to you girl and everyone who can do it 💪💪....

Although I do have a "home base" - my sister's house, I live most of my life out here in my truck 🚛, so tiny spaces don't bother me. (Um... My tiny space comes equipped with a microwave, fridge/freezer, sink, 11-gallon water reservoir, Murphy bed, seating area & more. Ijs) I also lived and worked in Thailand for over four years which taught me just how few things I need to live my life comfortably. That said, a van build-out is more than likely in my future but I think I'd like to try some car camping first.

I had very heavy flow, cramping and uterine fibroids in my last few years before The Big Change. Get your hormone levels checked. You could have estrogen dominance. Could be helped by dietary/medicinal changes. Unsolicited advice, I know. Rock on, luv.

I would really love if you did a video showing how you decide where to be on these remote locations. I feel like it would be kind of scary as a female by yourself. I see there's other Vans at this location I thought it was just you are there always other Vans around or do you go to remote locations by yourself? I really want to jump into this life but it's scary thinking about being alone

Battle Born need to sell or ship to Kenya if they really want to be available for everyone. Tried to buy some last year and was told it wasn't possible. Love your van still. It looks like you really choose a layout that works well for you.

I like using plastic bags and the decomposer. I also have a travel bidet you can use to clean while menstruating. Honestly, the composting and toilets and gray water tanks are "convenient" until they smell or break. Minivan campers use the simpler methods and I do too in my van, so its not a big deal at all. Also, you can get reusable pads at Walmart and just sterilize them in the wash.

lol...I really like your videos, you got a great personality. I am looking so forward to trying this out. I'm not sure how long I can, but at the least it will be an extended trip. I will be staying in my car and after I receive a settlement check, I will be trying this out until the money runs out (well, I will have enough to get home, of course.) I will also be working as I go doing gig work in cities ont he days I'm not out in nature. I like all those questions and yes, I'm willing to try out dealing with all those issues when I am absolutely MISERABLE here where I live now. I already mostly stay in a small room and (even though I know it will be a lot smaller)...and I will be as frugal as I can be on the road. I actually am not a "luxury" type of girl so I'm ok ruffin' it but the bathroom stuff does worry me cuz well, I'm not a thin female so I gotta make sure I have a car big enough for going on a portable toilet and I'm luckily past the age of having that aunt visit me every month! lol (46, it left early!) After 4 eye surgeries over the years, I am now pursuing a photography life taking pics and making vids on youtube and hoping it all works out!

I’m not planning on doing Van Life, but I am making ready to move into a teardrop trailer in about a year. I have a cat, and refuse to put her in a shelter, so I’ll be parking in an RV park while she’s alive, so that she can be in a temperature controlled environment. After that, though.. it’s time to hit the road. While the cons won’t stop me, it’s nice to know about them before I start.. forewarned is forearmed.. I think is the saying haha. Thanks so much for all of your informative and entertaining videos!
