David Lee Roth is a martial artist. Thats why he was perfect for 80's very "physical" rock performances.

Just 3 days ago it was 40 YEARS AGO "Jump" hits #1 in the US where it would stay for 5 weeks. Their first and only #1 with 💎Dave. He would leave the band a year later on April Fool's Day

David Lee Roth is a martial artist. Been training Kenjutsu since he was 12, also trained in Kempo and Brazilian Jiujutsu. That might explain his limberness 😆🤘 He is also nicknamed Diamond Dave 😅

I once read there was a conspiracy theory about this song.....the theory was the chord sequences on the synth were linked to sound frequencies that when heard released chemicals in the brain which calmed or relaxed the listener. It then went on to say the tune was penned by the government and played extensively during the summer months to stiffle civil unrest or riots..........sounds silly to me but it it IS STILL played a lot during summer months. 😮It could also be a return to the Close Encounters movies😂 Getting back to reality, what a great song and as usual a great reaction. 👍

Hi Andrei & Dominika, I used to dance like crazy to Van Halen’s ‘Jump’, and it’s still on my favourite Dance Playlist . Actually I’m here with a performance you might not have seen, as a mega mega fan of MK & his Bands, I just saw it for the first time last week. It’s a Mark/Dire Straits & Eric Clapton lineup performing an MK written song. Check out: Dire Straits & Eric Clapton - ‘Think I love you too Much’ (Knebworth Festival, 1990). I love it sooo much, & MK & EC are sooo cool together, especially in this video wearing those Armani suits! Hope you are able to give it one of your adorable reactions. I❤MK

I'd like to share this experience with you.I was at the Roxy, a club in Hollywood, CA. to see one of my favorite English punk band. It was Dec 5th 1979. After the show people were filing out to the front exit and I heard people saying "Van Halen sucks, you guys stink" and other expletives. As I followed the people towards the front door, the floor made a right turn towards the exit. I looked to my right and there, sitting in a curved booth, was David Lee Roth. Sitting on each side of him were super hot chicks. With his right hand held it out to the girl on his right and made a V with his fingers. She stuck a cigarette between the fingers. He then moved his hand to the left and that lady lit it. The whole time he was looking at us passing by. A true rock star moment. I was 27 at the time.

For 80's music, you need to listen to some more Thrash metal. You have listened to Metallica's "One". Now you need to listen to Megadeth, one of the other "Big 4" of Thrash meal. Let me suggest two earlier Megadeth songs. First, "Wake Up Dead." You can watch either the official video or the album cut. The second song is "In My Darkest Hour". Do not watch the official video as some of the song was edited for time. The music was written after a friend of Dave Mustaine, the founder, singer and guitarist of the band, found out about the death of good friend Cliff Burton, bassist for Metallica. The lyrics are about an ex-girlfriend of Dave's. Both of these songs are about the same girl, just written at different points in their relationship.

David Lee Roth was the king of all frontmen. And there is a reason Van Halen have sold 34 million albums with Roth as compared to 18 million with Sammy Hagar, because they were superior with Roth at the helm. In addition, the 2007 reunion with Roth dwarfed the 2004 reunion with Hagar in everyway possible including: average tickets sold per night, total tickets sold for the tour, and gross revenue. It wasn't even close, the reunion with David Lee Roth blew the reunion with Hagar away business wise. This is the real Van Halen. The original. Van Halen's legacy as a band will always lie with David Lee Roth. Anyone who claims otherwise is either naive, stupid, or lying.
