This was Eddie fucking up in the process. IT doomed the VH3 album. I like the Cherone era album because of Ed playing on it is awesome, but....Dave at the time would have been way better to take in for a full album

Now that I watch it again I noticed Mike's sarcastic laugh. Michael Anthony is one of the nicest man you could meet. I met him in South Beach back in 1997 or so when Sammy Hagar was promoting his Tequila in South Florida and Mike was tagging along with him and they did a tasting where I worked and Mike was very approachable, would carry on a conversation like a normal person, he did not have that " I am a Rock Star vibe" like many Rock stars that walked into where I used to work. So here in this video HE seemed annoyed by being there, don't get me wrong Eddie seemed pissed but how funny it is that Dave and Alex seem to be having a good time.

Such a huge letdown, To have to have Cherone instead of this was just the beginning of the end for a while.

In my opinion.... nooo....Gary is good in any situation!!!!!

I haven’t watched this in decades but I remember watching it live and freaking out. Given the benefit of hindsight, the Van Halen brothers completely screwed up this era. Cherone was a disaster. Ed and Alex would go on to trash Dave only to bookend their career with Dave for a final tour. Roth and the Van Halen brothers squandered a great thing. It’s really a shame.

Cherone was great with extreme but he just was a mile away from fitting into van halen . It just didn’t work and in fact was terrible .

They did three tours with Roth. 07/08, 2012, 2015. And an Australian festival and a few Japan shows in 2013, so that’s a mini-tour I guess.

The funniest part about this is that they actually had already hired another guy, Mitch Malloy. 1996 was a crazy year for Van Halen. Sammy Hagar, Mitch Malloy, David Lee Roth, AND Gary Cherone we’re all apart of Van Halen all within the same year.
