See this was originally one song. Realizing the appeal in two disparate demographics, the producers decided to mix out each song separately for each band rather than release it as one song-as originally intended. Sure, it’s not the truth. But these two sound so good together, who could say they WEREN’T originally the same song? Ho Lee Fuk!!! Amazing

@@nigeltate7337 --- even to this day, very few people know that Eddie and Michael made history together many years ago. I also agree that not having more collaborations of the two of them is a shame. I wonder if there are more tracks that they recorded in the archives of either family? I can't imagine that they only recorded the solo for that one single and nothing else. It seems unlikely that happened. The two of them loved music too much and definitely respected each other's talents too much to not just let the tapes roll on record while they hung out for hours in the studio. Maybe someday Wolfie or Blanket will break out some recordings of their dads jamming together.

Listening to this song made me realize that Dave's random "wwwaaaaoooohhh!!!!" and "UGHHH!!!!!" sounds should be sporadically placed in more songs. Only Bill McClintock has the power to truly do this justice.

It’s one of their more famous songs actually, not sure why you say non-mainstream. It charted number 12 in the category literally called “mainstream rock”

Came across this about 2-3yrs ago and no matter how many times I've listened it's still absolutely f'n brilliant! Although I haven't heard all the mashups yet, it'll be a very difficult task to outdo this one!

When Eddie Van Halen supplied the guitar for Beat It then Sammy Hagar came in to rerecord the vocals it really went downhill for MJ.

Some of these mashups are insanely brilliant, like this one. Both songs so perfect for each other, so great in their own right, and then improved upon by their combining. This one, Rock emotion, and Electric sex machine are my favorites.
Michael Jackson doing The Robot during Eddie’s solo is pretty damn brilliant.

This is absolutely captivating! Imagine an alternate history where Eddie didn’t just record the solo for Beat It, but the whole band joined forces with the Jacksons to do a Motown/metal mashup, sort of like Aerosmith and Run DMC did with rap/rock in the 80’s. Added it to my favorites 30 seconds in ✌️😎💣💥
