Slaughtering Grounds, Operation Z and Ark Survival Evolved are the funniest three. And he used to have a Star Trek VR game on his other channel but that's gone sadly.

I just got this the second I saw the artstyle and then saw the gameplay, probs best value so far this year have enjoyed every second with the game

This game is an excellent reminder why games from the NES/C64 era could be so fun! A simple, well executed idea with a price tag to match, unlike that overpriced soulless AAA garbage that we're otherwise being fed.

as if there weren't big developers trying to sell sub standard full price games in those times. LJN goes around making countless bad games using a movie license to peddle them and people still think gaming was perfect back then. not only that, there were no online reviews, so if you didnt know somebody who owned the game, you would have to believe what ever was written in nintendo power. mayb thats why everyone is convinced gaming is so bad now, because they couldnt comprehend how badly they were getting ripped off back in the day because there were no online forums or steam reviews to be able to gauge how bad games were. there are people who owned ET for atari and probably thought it was the best game in the world because they didnt know any better. now everyone knows the new COD game is bad without even playing it because their favourite game reviewer / streamer told them it was bad. honestly this "gaming was better in my day" is some hipster / old people bs. the amount of good games in existence only ever increases. no one is ever taking away your old library of games (save for maybe blizzard and wc3). elden ring is one of the best games ever made. you cant play it on a c64 and 3d open world games werent even a thing back then. name an openworld action rpg on the c64 that holds a candle to elden ring. this game couldnt have existed on the NES, i dont think a indie dev would have got licensing from nintendo. besides, this game is only getting recognition because of the internet. retro gaming is a fad designed to turn stock of obsolete hardware in to something that can be sold for way more than its worth.

This is such a stupid take. This game literally couldn’t be from the NES era. The game is only fun because it has such a large amount of entities where it still runs seamlessly even when the screen is filled-not just the enemies but the gems and the projectile weapons as well. The only thing “NES”-esque about this game is the graphics. It’s also a low investment game which makes it easy to pick up but annoying to play for longer periods of time-which AAA games usually aren’t. I know we love hating on AAA gaming but can we stop saying a bloody mobile game is the epitome of gaming?

That was THE most exciting thing I've seen all week. Loved it, Mack!

i literally already have this game mack, before i watch your review, i can already tell you its worth the price, easily 10-20 hours worth of gameplay here. took me 23 hours to get everything unlocked by accident and all achivements. would like more content.

they released an update a few weeks back adding some things.

the upgraded super weapons are the best part. You need a fully upgraded weapon and then another specific item (depends on the weapon) for it to become available in chests

when you get a chest you can right click left click on line shooting vertically up from the chest to skip the chest animation that takes ages. sometimes it doesnt work for reasons

Alot of the icons and sprites from this game look like their from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

The enjoyment you had playing this was really cathartic for me.

been getting stuck into this lately. Seriously more fun for 2 squid, than some 55 squid triple A's. When managing to survive long enough, and it goes crazy with the screen filled with enemies, i actually experienced "slow down". Not had that, since the 8 bit era

I originally ignored this as being a bit basic until you pointed out it's only a couple of quid. Played it for 4.5 hours on my first sitting. Surprisingly enjoyable despite the limited controls. Garlic is OP.

I would definitely watch a stream of Mack on something like this.

Would be happy to see more budget and indie titles. Also some cases of "is it worth now?" with games 1-2 years old, now patched and on sale, that might be a worthy buy in the state they are in after some fixing and content additions. If you ever come across something like that by chance. Like a no mans sky type of thing. That made a great turnaround.

Great game, makes me think of the old NES days. Soundtrack is great too, deceptively simple game play turns into strategic upgrade planning and map awareness, horde dodging! Great game, well worth 2 squids!

Bought it after seeing your review 24 hours or so ago, have already played 7h+ while listening to some podcasts. Having more fun in this simple game than I had playing any AAA game the last few months. Makes you think that maybe going with a 3080 was a bit overkill when I seem to enjoy these simple games the most.

This is the only game i've seen Mack review for awhile that actually looks fun.

Vampire Survivor is kind of a ripoff gameplay wise, but it has better enemy variety and better graphics. Both are fun but I prefer Vampire Survivor.

Always get the king bible , the evolved version is just nuts. Awesome little game btw worth every penny and scratches that old school itch. Edit: Forgot the ole 16 bit style tunes are really good as well.

I really liked this game, the fact that a game is 30min max makes it really easy to do a quick game. Been a long time since I spent 30 hours on game, unlocked everything. And new patch keeps bringing new content all that for that price, awesome. Loved the review Mack

I had my £2's worth after 15 mins never mind the rest. Wish the biggest success on that guy/team for being so generous.

Sifu is great but I don't recommend it to anyone who isnt after a high skill cap game that's less forgiving than any souls like I've played before it's hardcore and that's how it should be
