    large above-ground Cemetery scattered around New Orleans known as the City of the Dead are must-see for any visitor. You can pay for a guided tour of many of them but they're also open to the public FREE of charge. The St Louis Cemetery number 1 in the French Quarter is open Monday through Saturday from 9 to 3 and from 9 to 12 on Sundays.

    Ok I just want to clarify. I just got back from New Orleans and we a ghost tour the first location she is talking about take place two houses down. It’s the gray house towards the left of the street. I’m pretty sure she said the pink house tho. And he didn’t find the boy right away. He actually went down stairs and came back up when he heard more noise

    The story near the end about the pacing widow around 50 mins or so is a common tell about different hauntings across the United States if not the world! I've heard it about many different places including in two separate locations in Tennessee one in Clarksville (north middle) and one in Kingsport (Eastern) both very old mansions and extremely close to rivers.

    Well, if only video games and action movies interest you, so be it. It's also a lot more interesting when you're there in person in this amazing city. "The Haunted History Tours" are highly regarded, and well-reviewed by The History Channel, The Travel Channel, etc. The stories are well-researched from newspaper archives, historians, etc. New Orleans is supposedly the most haunted city in this country, so why would they need to make anything up? If it's a legend or lore they are repeating, the guides say so. Guides in New Orleans must pass a history test and pay a fee to be licensed.

  • @AGauthreauxMA

    @AGauthreauxMA

    7 жыл бұрын

    Kevin, you are absolutely correct. The people that conduct these tours are not historians; they are people who are versed in the bullshit that they are taught by the persons who own the tours. They are mostly eclectic weirdos that can't find employment doing anything else.

  • @lisellesloan3191

    @lisellesloan3191

    7 жыл бұрын

    What part of "taking a history test and paying a fee to become licensed" don't you understand?! Most guides, in fact, take a college course in Nola history to enable them to pass the test! The legends and lore are of long-standing and based on historical documents. Oh, I guess the History and the Travel Channel don't know what they are talking about the well-regarded "Haunted History Tours," and how they are a must-do!

    No, but it's makes you a licensed tour guide, and these guides have learned a lot on their own, as well. They love Nola history; that's why they became guides. Not all guides are good, of course, but these and the well-reviewed ones are!

They also said that after that happened it was decided to lock the gates to the cemetery, and only let people in if they were part of a tour group and had a guide to show them around... Is this true? And if so, then what about those who's got family buried there... Aren't they supposed to be able to come visit 😮 About the pictures you have... You should take them to a local archive and allow them to make a copy of your pictures. And if you know the names of the people in the pictures then make sure that you tell them that! That way it will all be preserved in New Orleans history... It would be a very valuable gift for next generations!!!
