Its not so bad if you have a good aystem. I organize by decade, refresh the key dates of that period, then try to stick to one year at a time, so I can focus on one peculiarity at a time, certain years like '82 get weighed so copper is separate from the zinc junk, then start running through with obvious keeper, look agains and cash in piles. Bada bing bada bang. Its a pita if youre all over the place decade wise.

That's a good thing for those of us that take the time to do it. That puts potentially valuable coins back in circulation for someone else to find. It's a relaxing (and sometimes rewarding) hobby. I set aside short blocks of time to sort coins. It works for me. Have a great day my friend

This is the best descriptive video I have ever seen on this topic. It finally makes sense to me. I may actually be able to recognize one of these coins now. Thank you!
Thank you, you really did a great job of clarifying these
Thank you, Daniel. Your video helped me locate a red 1998 (WAM) penny in my collection. Superb information and commentary.
Hey Daniel, I found a 1998 WAM yesterday. I'm not concerned with its monetary value because it was such a thrill to find it after watching your video. I posted it on CHU Community just to get personal verification. Thanks again for the videos and CHU Community. Also got my eye out for that elusive 96.
I would also like to say how much I enjoy your KZread videos, they are so informative thank you so much. Your knowledge is unending, I am really trying to learn more about coin collecting and have brought the books you suggested. But again thank you for your knowledge. Also I am so sorry you get people that cuss you and don't care about the great information you give but you do have people out here that do appreciate what you do.

Thanks for your videos Dan they help me so much I am new to coin collecting so they help 100% thank you :)
Daniel Idk how many times I've watched this video I keep refreshing my memory using it as a reference guide. Your kindness in sharing your knowledge is much appreciated. However you are a part of what in my case is fast becoming an obsession instead of just a cheap hobby that I can cash out at face value anytime. I have big ideas now of constructing a sorting table for coins to separate them by year date first then work each date and mint while referencing material before then putting the ones I don't keep back in the financial system. You may need to start up a rehab for those who become addicted to this. Perhaps a video or disclaimer might be in order.

Thank you! Just looked through a jar of cents and pulled out all the red ones. Out of three 98's, four 99's and four 2000's, I found 1 wide AM 98. Even has the different FG. Never looked at cents before - how cool to find something a bit rare.

Simply wow after watching this video I am mediately sent it to my mother and father who are also slight coin enthusiast, and told them that this is by far the best nine minutes at work I have had in two years. I immediately felt more knowledgeable overall had more clarity into the differentiation between these nuance varieties and was able to confirm and deny a couple of coins I have that I wasn’t exactly sure about. Bottom line you did an absolutely wonderful job and thank you so very much for the informative video also thank you for confirming the fact that I have an actual 1992D close AM it’s also red with very very very few cosmetic dings after looking at what some coins get 65s and 66s for I wholeheartedly believe it should be that or pretty darn close I will absolutely follow up with pictures and the outcome of the sale/auction/show and tell party with friends whatever it may be but in large part it was because of this video giving me the confidence to trust my gut and look a bit harder and understand that it actually is too good to be true for once YAY!!! Cam!

Thanks Daniel for this video. I went searching for the wide am's In my coin collection, and found 8 coins that were 1998,1999,and 2000. I also found, out of those 8 coins , 2 were the 1996 P wide am. I 'd like to get those coins authenticated and graded , then sold. I just need help getting that done. Do you consign coins for coin collecters? If not, do you know anyone who does? @@CoinHELPu Teach sometimes they look close or wide especially the 90's being the font, you really got to tilt it to see it is wide, many time I thought wide till I moved them around all angles perhaps you might do a clip on this cause the font can fool you. Like show how it looks wide at 1st glance then tilt it ;) I wonder if any errors will pop up being it changed again in 2009 back to wide ish more even. When they came out with the 4 set of Lincoln.. it was getting me confused I had to lay out all the years and see the change
Learn a lot off of this one Daniel, thanks.
Thank you Daniel, great info, very helpful! Checking out Penny values!❤!!

I would send it to the examiners at CONECA even with a doubled die a damaged coin isn't going to be worth much unless it is a rare example.

I remember the Close AM variety on some 1999-S proof cents. I was fortunate to read news of some 1998-S Close AM being found too and found three very soon after news broke. All I can say is that every close AM proof cent I found were in the Clad proof sets, never saw one in a silver proof set. Just FYI. I've never found a wide AM business strike but only look as unc mint sets. Excellent video!

Hi Danieli fine 1996 Wide Am. I think can you tell mi please is this 2 Cent is wide am
Thank you!
As well as the finding that will help me to explain each more in it's self finding of all ,being an explanation all .in all....
I always have to take a “refresher review” on this WAM & CAM issues...now I see 1996 has been added to the WAM line up! Woo Hoo! (Just when I thought I was getting less confused...LOL!) I was getting confused about the “dual dates”... I’ve watched other KZread videos that didn’t reclarify that the 1998, 1999,& 2000 were a “dual search”... so..., my dear Kumu (Hawaiian for Teacher), while going through my 1998, 1999, & 2000 proof sets that are encased in hard plastic holders for WIDE AM cents, I should keep “my 3rd eye open” for a CLOSE AM cent in these same years... so...I’m still not a “guaranteed winner”, right? I’m looking for either a WAM or CAM...the placement of the FG will be even more important in determining if a coin is a winner... It’s as clear as MUD... oh boy...I’ve replayed this video at least 6 times this afternoon...somewhere in between I recall trying to donate some “kala”(Hawaiian: $Money$) to your wonderful, educational, (right now very confusing) WAM vs CAM video...WHEN....all the stars align and I REALLY FIND ONE (I think I have found a couple possibilities, I haven’t shown them to any of the experts I know yet....but like you mentioned about an inexperienced coin hunter, I’ve taken a few of my finds to my coin dealer or shown them to a couple friends during Honolulu Coin Club meetings, only to be told the coins in my hand were not what I was looking for. Everyone smiles... then tells me or my rookie friend, that we are getting closer to finding a real variety...and we all smile...LOL... I think I’ll take a break now and eat some fish and poi...
