Valse D'Amélie - Solo Guitar
Музыка
My arrangement of a tune by Yann Tiersen from the wonderful 2001 film "Amélie." I couldn't find a rendition out there for solo guitar in the original key that I felt did the song justice, so here's my best attempt at it. I do not have sheet music or tab. Tuning is E A C F# B E.

The right hand technique is incredible, subtle tonal shifts achieved through picking positions, mesmerising.

The left hand is also very hard.

The only thing i see that could be adjusted is lower the guitar a bit and tilt the headstock up. So that his right hand wrist can straighten out into a more natural position. That being said, Brad Paisley can shred with the guitar flat on his lap, so who cares. 😂

For some feelings, there are no words. Then comes music. Thank you for this. ♥️
Josh you don’t really have any spare time do you ? Do you eat? Do you sleep ? That was stunning! Thank you for sharing that with us mere mortals.

Woah! I have a feeling you're not happy unless you're challenging yourself. Lucky us!

Still the best version on You Tube. As a solo guitar, it manages to capture every nuance of the lovely piece of music.
This is absolutely stunning, beautiful and executed to perfection, total clarity. You're very very talented and doubtless dedicated, you have a tremendous technique and understanding of your instrument. I've watched a lot of your videos, your range and repertoire are quite frankly unbelievable and I would think pretty unmatched. For someone who has 'played' for 35 yrs self taught ( and of ok standard ) I'm in awe. Inspiring stuff, thanks for sharing your videos, your skills & talents and infecting us with your appreciation of all things musical.
J'adore ce film. Il est magnifique tout comme ton interprétation. Bravo.
How is this even possible for a human to play guitar so incredibly beautiful?

The technique required for this is built up gradually, just like the ability to bench press 125 kg or running a marathon. Nothing happens overnight and no one was born to do something without effort
One of my favorite pieces, and now I hear it on guitar. Amazing job!
Ohhh, my!! Stunning! Absolutely. Beautiful & inspirational. Thank you!
Jaw droppingly masterful, soulful, subtle, powerful. Thankyou Josh.
A lovely piece of music and I enjoyed your playing, thank you!
Your way to play it brings around the sadness a kind touch that confort like the gentle touch of a child. Fantastic adaptation Josh!
You are consistently broadening my music taste. Excellently played
As always- I'm left astounded by your work. It was terrific! Thank you!
Great cover! So fluent and beautiful! I love how you managed to keep the feeling of the original version while doing this guitar arangement.
Bravo! This is just too painfully beautiful. Thank You!
This piece makes time slow down... You just stop and listen... And you are transported... Beautiful.
Can't speak. Unbelievable talent and smoothness. I'm almost embarrassed at how much I love the work you do.
Oh wow, that was so beautiful. I am so touched by this. Love love love
I’ve been following you for a few years now, and you never cease to amaze me. I love this 💖
Stunning. Thanks both for sharing and for the countless hours that no doubt went into this 👏👍
I am absolutely blown away by your talent. This is easily the most beautiful arrangement of this song I’ve heard.
It's clear you have an understating of guitar that most humans don't have.
I'm stunned. Best guitar rendition out there; absolutely beautiful. Thank you!
Beautiful.... nothing more. One of the best artists on KZread.
When I close my eyes, I see a little house in the countryside, with trees around it. It's an old house, with red adobe, and old plants on his walls. And there is the smell of flowers all around... Thank you!
Never ceases to amaze me how talented you are. This was insanely impressive. Bravo.
You give me faith in the KZread music scene man. So nice to just sit and watch something beautiful the whole way through without a load of attention grabbing stuff going on. Love your work.
Your command of so many different styles is amazing. Keep up the good work!
Wow... stunning! Can he really be that good? Why, yes. Turns out he can be.
Sounds so nice and difficult!
Yet another inspiring upload. You have a rare gift, thanks for putting in the work to make the most of it.
It's so incredible to see how comfortable you are in all these different types of music. Bluegrass, classic rock, jazz, classical, you name it! Joshua Lee Turner can play it. That's why your album is so good. You let yourself show off all your different sides. It was awesome seeing you perform live in Des Moines this last week. I can't wait to see your next show and where your music takes you.
Awesome, as usual! Amelie has an amazing soundtrack.
what a wonderful song, thank you so much for sharing your gifts with the world
Such a truly beautiful arrangement. Beyond words other than thank you.
That makes me stare in wonder at the effortless way your hands glide across the strings. You dear sir are a perfectionist on the guitar.
Utterly beautiful!
Beautiful !!
One of my favorite pieces of music. Thank you - it brings back to memories of watching Amelie many times.
So incredibly beautiful!
Thanks a lot for playing it Josh. Perfect pace, balance and emotion. What a song !
Wow Josh. You continuously surprise me with the diversity of song choices. This arrangement is just wonderful... I’ve listened to it a dozen or so times since you posted it... so good.
Simply beautiful.
This is why Josh is a musician's musician. Every genre, every time, perfection. (Or so close to it that we listeners can't tell.) Absolutely beautiful!
Wonderful!
You gave me shivers! Josh, what a fine musician and arranger you are!
BEAUTIFUL !!!
Outstanding, and I don’t mean in the rain! Cheers from Eau Claire Wisconsin!
Je n'ai qu'a fermer les yeux et je voyage. Magnifique interprétation, Joshua.

Absolutely stunning, very well done
Absolutely: Incredible .... stunning ... haunting ... thank you
This was amazing. I've been having such a horrible week, this just lightened up all crap that's been on my mind. Thank you so much for being such an amazing artist.
Josh, you are just so amazing. You have full command of the guitar fretboards of all your guitars. I am older and find it so difficult to get my fingers stretching. You know every inch and all of the theory, most people have know idea of how much you know and your skill level. I enjoy your music so much. I especially like watching you play all of the instruments on the videos. Aajosh you are truly a one man band!! Thanks, Brad from Long Island
Thank you very much Josh! Brought back memories...
Amelie is one of my favorite films. This is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Brilliant as always! I love showing off your stuff to friends and family; you’re a fantastic musician!
Good as always, nice tune, nice play.
Amazing!
of love how you're able to play that whole song and not only a part. I would've learned like the first 10 seconds and then stayed on that level
Listening to the soundtrack for this movie always makes me a bit melancholy, but this was especially lovely and tear inducing for me. I cant wait to see your focused expressions and skill in person tonight in Dallas!
Yes, beautiful. Such a joy to listen to, and watch. Thanks.
Very pretty guitar work. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome stuff as always!
This is absolutely impressive!! Well done Josh! Just beautiful.
Wow, that was so beautifully moving!!! Bravo Sir!
The amount of talent you have is simply absurd. Seriously, awesome job Josh. Been a follower for quite a while and your work never ceases to amaze me. Greetings and love from the end of the world (Chile) ✨

Beautiful arrangement. You truly made it justice!
You’ve recreated Tiersen’s work beautifully! “Amelie” is probably my favorite movie ever and I love seeing people appreciate that film and its beautiful score.
Ow. Incredible. Well done and thanks for sharing, my heart soared and I was taken to another realm watching you play this.
Such an amazing performance to watch this Saturday afternoon... made me forget all my problems for a while..
Josh - so impressed not only with your arrangement but your proclivity with so many different guitar styles and feels. You have a real command of the instrument! Interesting tuning as well - dropping down the D and G strings. Now your messing with our minds. :) Kudos!
What an arrangement!
Amazing arrangement Josh, love your work !
