I was going to say this. I think they definitely chose the wrong set of guns for 2.0. The original skinline gave "sharp", "precise" vibes and doesn't really mesh well with the Shotguns and Ares.

The overall changes are going in a really good direction. Abilities having shorter durations feels so much better, the game just looks so awkward in pre patch footage now. I do think we need a competitive mode with respawning if the game is meant to grow, and a plan to make the agent roster feel more interesting without adding more bloat to it, like by introducing weekly agent rotations. Agent balance isn't perfect, but other than Reyna still not getting reworked, there's nothing that actually ruins games, all roles are vital, and vastly different comps are viable which is a huge achievement.

The agent rotation would kinda suck... as there might be weeks where people can't play their best or fav agents and get stuck with agents they don't like only to not play the game... As for shorter duration or limitation of abilities... I hope they don't go too crazy with it in focusing on the fps shooter aspect coz abilities are equally important part of the game since the traditional grenades or smokes that players in traditional fps shooters can buy are not present. I was already kinda disappointed with the recon bolt having 2 scans instead of 3 and jett having 1 updraft. With all the other nerfs including the ult point nerfs, I felt those were unnecessary. At least make the drone reveal tick thrice then coz it's a 1 time use unlike the reveal which can be used quite a few times in a round. And by competitive mode with respawning do u mean a competitive mode for TDM???

Honestly VALORANT has so much potential to overtake CS entirely and be THE tactical fps of this decade. This entirely relies on if they keep up promises, keep making more refinements to the balancing, and adding more ways non-competitive players can have fun, just to encourage more people to keep playing. It’s not dead, but it really is a personal improvement game right now instead of a game for you and your friends.

To add to my previous statement because people don’t seem to understand what I mean. VALORANT is the “easier” game. Because you have abilities that do all sorts of wacky shit you don’t need to fully rely on your gunfights to win, on top of this VALORANT’s characters have an outline. If VALORANT was able to have all the features CS does and fixed its community issues, more people would play it cause there is slightly less work needed to succeed, as someone is mid as fuck in both games, VALORANT is much easier for my brain to shoot enemies cause I can see them no matter what and they don’t blend into the background constantly.

I like valorant alot. But as you said the community is meh and you can't really play the game alone since most often u got 0 team play and just pick the agents they want and not fill out what the team needs (This is all coming from a Dia player). To make the game better i would like a role select like we got in league of legends and also a solo/duo and then a flex queue that we also have league. And would like a replay system i have wanted it since lanch and i don't understand really why they haven't added it. Otherwise i fell the game is quite balanced and super fun to play with friends but just not fun to play alone. Edit: Would also be cool with a map banning system. Like cs Premier mode since u got 0 say in what side you start on or what map you're going to play.

ngl valorant still has such a potential to dominate again as the 2020-21 period but with skins and efforts like this. I think CS might takeover :(

I really thought that riot will make the Gaia's vengeance bundle 2.0 like both the reaver collections and bring out a sheriff OP and Odin but idk what they thought while making 2 shotguns in the same bundle.

Yea i don't know why they said next act is a filler act. I don't think they've ever done the Agent BP teaser and official teaser and then not release them next act. The next duelist is like VERY likely to be released next act, and the following act (I believe the following act lines up with the holidays) will be a filler act.

I think we need some events in the game not just new bundles all the time. They should be more creative and active when it comes to making a game more interesting. For example r6 have so many high quality and fantastic events. I think we need such a system in valorant too.

i dont think the game is stale but i cant keep playing it anymore ive taken a break from the game for a month and my mental health has improved massively. i climbed up to ascendant and the mentality didnt change at all if anything it got worse and the match making atm imo is awful i dropped to diamond 2 and i was playing immortals over and over again. im not sure there is any way to fix this unless its a bunch changes to match making and you cant rly do anything about peoples mental....

If youre interested in what someone whos been in the development industry has to say about valorant, keep reading, i hope you find what i have to say insightful or at least interesting A brief background of myself, i went to college to learn how to develop games with the intention of founding my own studio, my two biggest goals for this studio were to make a full alternative to csgo which would have included a steam alternative, and souls like games that have a new take on huge bosses, i wanted to bring fights like ones in the shadow of the colossus into the souls universe, to find a way to make big bosses more interactive etc with that out of the way, lets start off with what i about valorants current state. There is no kind way to say this, i believe that practically every single person behind the development of riot is woefully uninspired, lazy and potentially even underqualified. This applies in all areas of valorant but its been most tangible recently with two of the most recent bundles, champions 2023 and now, gaia 2.0. To put it bluntly, if i were hired into a managerial role for valorant, i feel as though i would have to replace almost every single member of the development team. Lets begin with valorant itself, what the team behind it define it as and what it actually is. Valorant is described as a competitive tactical shooter which for some reason unbeknownst to god still boasts of precise gunplay that is nowhere to be found in the current valorant landscape. Valorant currently is a tactical shooter aiming to bring a competitive feel to a casual audience. Its apparent in the community, the style of content, the fact that hit registration is still an issue that plagues the game and has since open beta, first bullet accuracy being a mess, the fact that you can climb from in my experience, bronze 3 to ascendant 1 with a sub 50% winrate - i could go on but we would be here all day, the overarching point is that valorant is anything but competitive and tactical. rng has no place in competitive play and frankly an oversaturation of abilities that seem to get stronger and stronger with every agent release is just damning to any argument that valorant is not a casual game. In valorant your teamplay matters more than your gunplay, thats because the gunplay is secondary, even tertiary for 60% of the team. Again from my own experience, climbing out of low elo isnt a matter of who has the better team or the smurf, its a matter of who has the better IGL, you would genuinely be shocked how easy it is to climb out of even platinum and diamond by learning how to be a good IGL and having good vibes, ive had games where my teammates didnt even have mics, but they listened because i kept up team morale. Now, why is any of that important, since i got sidetracked. Its important because if the people on valorants development team dont know how to properly define what theyre developing, theyll make the wrong decisions again and again, they have no metaphorical in game leader and they need one badly. There is no direction for valorant, they will continue to go this same uninspired direction until someone new takes the helm because as i said, they dont know what theyre developing. To give another example lets look at chambers history of nerfs by first understanding what he is, the idea that birthed him in any game that has character based abilities, theres usually one or two that push the bounds of what is and isnt fair, they have abilities that on paper sound massively overpowered but tend to be much less so, pre rework revenant in apex for example, "infite" climb, silencing, semi immortality, reynas kit and especially the ult is another example. Back to chamber, what is he. He is a csgo awpers wet dream. only a few things can get you killed as an awper in csgo, not having your flank covered, being swung by multiple people and overextending. what does chambers kit do? well his trip watches his flank, his tp allows him to overextend massively, his headhunter is the perfect pairing for an op given how fast it readies and shoots, and his ult, this is where we can see the developers lack of understanding when it comes to what makes his ult strong. People are quick to migrate away from anything post nerf without even trying it out, jett was a recent one, the nerfs were harsh but necessary and she is still very much viable. With chamber, the fire rate of his op was not what made it strong, i have yet to see a single person talk about what makes it strong. Lets go back to his headhunter, its not considered OP, so why is the op? there is one thing the headhunter doesnt have and its the slowing field that drops at the death of a person killed by chambers ultimate. First of all changing the fire rate means nothing when that slowing field is down, if the field lasts longer than the time it takes to cycle the weapon, nerfing the fire rate is nigh meaningless, if you get the first kill and you were double swung, you have a free kill, if there was a second, he cant swing you because of the field, if theyre pushing a site it entirely halts a five man push, that is what makes his ult strong. My proposal for a nerf would be to keep the firerate up but to remove that field or at the very least, make it reasonable in size. To recap what ive said so far, the issue with valorant is essentially a lack of leadership and potentially large scale underqualification, what makes me say that is the recent nerfs. All of the nerfs historically have been so glaringly simple and easy to change that you reading this could do it without any form of guidance. For those unfamiliar with code, if youre working in a team people will leave notes in the code, i will give you an example #above lines for jett dash time and it would really be as simple as you changing a number, now knowing what that number is from the below devnote note that the history of nerfs to anything have been very easy and simple to do. mape rework? bring this wall out a bit (an hour of dedicated work overall, something i could have done as a college student) jett rework? literally changing two numbers, conveying it to the art team who would then edit the GUI accordingly, despite the fact that someone with no more than 30 minutes in photo shop could easily add one more diamond to the jett ult. This is a very spontaneous post so i apologise for any ramblings or things ive left unclear, to conclude my thoughts on this portion, people on valorants team across the board seem misguided, uninformed, lazy and without leadership. Now to address the content creators, this part should be brief grow up. you have a platform, grow it beyond just valorant content, if your livelihood hinges off of whether or not you can curate a new custom gamemode i think that should be enough of a wakeup call, if your content is so lacking in personality and isnt transformative in nature, in the sense that your viewers are not coming to the video for you, theyre coming for the trashy tiktok tier content, then thats your own problem with a unique solution for you to come to. cough cough, westjett. for others like eggwick, people genuinely love him, theyre not inherrently there for the valorant content alone, i dont foresee people like that struggling to grow beyond valorant. people who are worried deserve to be as their content is uninspired, repetative and lacking in personality and creativity. moving quickly onto what should be done for valorant, random recoil patterns should exist but be more harsh than the ones in cs games to still differentiate the gunplay. first bullet accuracy needs to be touched up on, theres guns having identity crises, the frenzy for example is more reliable at range than the ghost. The hit registration issues need to be finally addressed, issues like the killjoy turret thats existed for so long its appeared in pro play need to be stomped out the second they come up. if the team is not to be replaced they need leadership and direction, they need to feel inspired again, with that quality of content like skins for example will increase. i do believe a series like arcane would be great for valorant but i would be afraid that something like that with the current state of valorants team and leadership would just be a failure, there is ample and interesting lore in the world of valorant that simply can not and will not be told through voice lines and cutscenes, valorant will recieve a series in the future and i do believe that will be a big turning point for the game itself. finally, the valorant TOS. i habitually read TOS and honestly, valorants is very short. the TOS is vague but effectively you can be banned for just being a little bit mean, under the definitions of the TOS you can be banned for saying "sova?" or even just putting "????" in chat which shouldnt surprise you when tbagging is bannable in this game. these pathetic excuses for "problems" are dwarfed by the rampant sexism apparent in practically every single lobby a woman may enter which is absolutely unacceptable, especially when the majority of your playerbase is under the age of 18. this sexim is such a problem because of how pathetic the TOS is, it can easily get weaponized against the people it should be aiming to protect and it is, so many examples of women standing up for themselves only to be banned. Because of how vague the TOS is, you truly can be banned for anything, it may as well say "your fate is in the hands of the system", within the TOS it says you can be banned for anything vulgar, that is to say if i say "foot fungus" i could potentially be banned. i cant think of anything else, those are my thoughts, hopefully i covered something you wanted to hear spoken about, thank you for reading, have a lovely day

Me and my entire friend group stopped playing Valorant because it didn't hit the itch anymore. We played a ton of CS:GO and what made it different was the fact that we didn't ONLY have to play certain things. We could go into custom games and play some sick custom maps or just mess around in custom maps. The community part of a game is what matters most, and the only part that feels like community is the stickers. That's it. The gameplay itself got old with the consistent nerfs happening, not with how "stale" it was. Characters that didnt FEEL broken were getting changes that made them no longer fun. Sure, Chamber's TP was busted back then, but other changes to his kit made no sense. Jett's most recent changes were questionable. And some other random ass changes like Neon's wall no longer doing damage. OH and the skins being hyper over priced. Like sure you can compare them to CSGO KNIVES but you can also get a CSGO skin, some looking kinda decent, for like $1.24.

With the bundle, I feel like it isn't lazy just poor decision making (with the wrong gun choices and attempting to get "funny" with the knifes). I'll probs only get the Phantom tbh. Overall, the game definitely needs more casual enjoyement but also just quality of life in matchmaking. I will say, Val is the only game that I've played that actually takes toxicity seriously (not saying their perfect but compared to other games they really are on top of it). I just wish they made match making better and address the smurf issue for low ranks (a majority of their player base). I remember early val said they would condemn smurfing and they seem to have gone way too light on that (in regards to broken promises) but I do hope they make matchmaking better and add more casual modes (a Mystery Agents mode like in OW would be so chaotic and they really should bring back Replication). I get that they want the game to be competitive/grind base but casual fun is never a bad addition for a game like that.

They need to add some form of system that puts people who want to FF early game with other people with absolutely NO mental for competitive games whatsoever. Sick of being 3 rounds in and some instalock duelist wants to FF

I have grinded till immo a few times, but every time I grind, it takes a toll on my mental. I play on one of the most toxic servers possible. I took a break played unrated, swiftplay, but there is nothing to be earned there it seems hollow. I used to play CS 1.6 when i was a kid and after a long break from FPS games i resumed with valorant. It was fun at first but now it just seems meh. I was addicted to buying skins I almost own all the skins and battlepasses but this year they have disappointed alot. Like the champs 2023 melee seriously a default animation? Now gaia 2.0 you reused the same melee?! Its sad that these guys have got so lazy. Chinese servers just came out and they have a replay system. Its been 3 years no replay system and the skin prices are touching the sky at the moment. RES bundle etc. Like come on no map pick and ban system no agent pick and ban system. People loved replication its almost been an whole year since I last saw replication like why do you feel the need to remove it? Lastly i don't think its just me but the hitboxes are absolutely fuxked. Not allowing true streched for some reason. I don't know i tried out CS 2 a while back. It just felt better. Atleast i don't have to worry about instalocking or playing only breeze or sunset 5 times over 😶‍🌫️

The game in terms of content is very dry. Some sort of community map creation or game mode I think would do some to fix this. Also most comp games in lower to mid elo are unplayable because of the throwers/smurfs

I've been playing the game since Beta. within the past few months. I've been going into comp games and playing about 2 games. Its getting real stale. Not to mention the smurfs/boosting, Games with no comms, 3/4 stacking duelists.. I'm a D3/Asc 1 solo player. Its fkn hard to rank up past that because of all the bs. I wish they would fix up the range and have more practice modes.. I'm suprised they haven't added bots to custom games. I gave up on the replay system. Gotta wait 3 more years. Its just ridiculous. Valorant is my fav game. But its been hard to play lately. Hopefully that changes. *And yes.. The Gia's 2.0 is a huge upset, as its my fav skin bundle.. Duel-wielding knife... Really?🤦‍♂🤦‍♂ The dagger does look sick. And different colors would've been nice. Only decent one is the phantom.. Botched another great skins bundle.

People lose sight of the draw of the game. The draw is to improve. It is a game that focuses on comms, team play, and strategies. It's unfortunate that the content creators have run out of stuff to do in the game, but in all honesty, that doesn't mean the game itself is bad all of a sudden. The game itself is still amazing. The only thing I can hope for is that with the content creators leaving, they'll take the negative/npc players with them that are only there because their favorite streamer told them to be there.

i think it's mistake of everyone , Riot , community and the ytber . Community : Too toxic , trollers , E-Daters , rage quitting , GG after 3 rounds . etc etc Riot : Not updating the game frequently and focusing more on making Money with selling skins rather investing on developers to make the game more fun and flexible . Ytber / Content creators : I think they should respect the game which had given them this fame and now they are critising that same game which made their career . Ex - Eggwick took valorant to a new different level with the custom ideas . Altogether everyone should give their best to make the game more Fun . It's my own oppinion so pls now dont give hate in replies . VALORANT will NEVER DIE !

I think the game is great as a competitive game, and it's respectable for Riot to focus on what's already working. However, adding changes to give more freedom and include casual players will give the game so much more room to grow, and let content creators actually make different content, such as different game modes, freedom to change settings in custom games, etc

easy for the game to feel stale when the gameplay feels the exact same for 6 months, the only impact the last character made to the game was pissing people off in agent select bc its almost an instant loss on top of the previous map pool feeling more diverse

i dont think its a bad idea to have a filler act gives them time to actually focus on the good changes rather than making changes every other day give them time to think and be creative

I messaged a valorant dev about the block button and, in summary, they said: “I don’t know. Hopefully.” I even brought up how I feel unsafe in the community as a female gamer and they didn’t reciprocate my feelings- and they really should as a dev. Because of this I feel that valorant is going down hill. The CEO is clearly not paying attention to who they are hiring.

honestly its a bit dissapointment as a person that loves gaia 1.0. they meele should be 2 big tree fists that bloom flowers and the bucky should an op. they couls also make it so when you get a kill with the 2.0 collection a couple leafs grow on the guns which would be great but to muach for a 1775 vp gun.

@@HowToNoodle as the guy said, no one would expect a grappling hook in this game. but like they "stole" so much sh*t from other games already so might as well get the Pathfinder + peacekeeper combo. As a chaotic Neon+Jett main i would love that

I hate the toxicity but I don't think the game will really stale out for me, I've been playing for a little over a year now and my acct is level 160 something, its especially fun just playing unrated and getting nice tms most of the time.

My friend saw the new ares, screamed “penis gun” and continued on with his day 😭😭

I feel like Riot is intentionally trying to be unique, which in turn makes the game have less of the basic features people want, the fact that they haven't added for example first-shot accuracy is baffling to me, even though most maps have 1-2 angles per site that are over 30 meters, Riot doesn't seem to care that the Vandal would miss that about 33% of the time.

Only good part seems to be the phantom

I mean, its not stale it just needs some touch ups

saying game is stale becuz of our fav content creator said so ? nah man solo que in comp is just nightmare now , every match there's a smurf of high elo and solo queing in low elo sucks. no team coordination , teammates leave/afk or they throw whole game. they really need to improve the matchmaking system like my peak is silver 2 and i get platinum players in lobby. how am i supposed to win ?

and there's this wonderful toxic community which ruins your whole day just becuz they lost one match

we need to start pushing RIOT to give us a replay system. they are getting lazier by the day it seems. skins haven't been great and the costs are just absurd for regular people. just ask riot to do better and give replay system under every tweet they make.

Y’all should stop hating on the knife being a copy and paste. The undercity collection is a COMPLETE copy of glitchpop. All they did was add a green screen and changed the color palette.

Fact is just before cs2 was announced val started losing traction on the social media side. So the game took a double hit and is essentially at a stale point. We haven’t had any new content, we don’t do operations like cs, we don’t have cool community events or celebrate much. We haven’t had a new gamemode or change in meta for a while. Its just in this grey area between being a dead game and a thriving platform for fps lovers.

honestly its almost like rainbow six, they promise a lot, reputation system, fix on hack, map ect but ended up with reputation that doesn't work, and they just nerf everything that looks powerfull, instead of making it different. and the player still wishing for operation health 2 the game is kinda dead, eventhough the players coping its not dead. but the reality is u get 4.5 minutes of matchmaking that ended up with the same enemy and team. i just hope that valorant dint ended up like that...
