    she was. I figure she thought the water tank was a good place to hide in because she felt like she was being stalked . The water must have been low when she got in. In the documentary they mention that the volume of water varied through the day. She closed the lid when the water was down and when it came up again she couldn't open the it. She struggled for some time, because when they found her, her clothes were on the bottom of the tank. People tend to do that after some time in water so they can stay afloat for longer. But she eventually got exhausted =(

    The door on the elevator didn’t shut because in her panic button pushing she hit the hold door button which holds the door open for a few mins, I forget who exactly but a few sources went to the hotel & went to the elevator to purposely figure out why the door never shut & once they saw what buttons she pushed by comparing the video to the elevator irl it was proven that she had hit the elevator door hold button along with a few others.

    That's most likely the explanation for her behavior. She assumed the elevator was sensing someone blocking the doors, so she tried standing in the corner to trick the doors into closing. When that didn't work, she tried to get the elevator to recognize that she was stepping through the doors. Her gesturing could have just been her talking to herself in frustration, unaware there was a camera. It appears disturbing because we have the context of knowing she was later found dead.

    My uneducated guess would be she thought there was someone chasing or stalking her, explaining her behavior. She then gets on the roof and tries to hide from this stalker that doesnt actually exist, goes in the hatch to hide, not knowing it is a water tank, perhaps closing it as she goes in.

    This is my theory also. I believe that she was going through a psychotic break. The autopsy report stated she had prescribed medication in her system but had low doses of her BPD medication, meaning she wasn’t taking her medication the last few days she was alive. Elisa’s sister also claimed that when Elisa didn’t take her medication, she would have hallucinations of people chasing her. Elisa’s sister would come home to Elisa hiding in her room from “scary people”. So with that being said, I totally agree with you.

    She doesn't appear to be in a panic. It looks like she's confused as to why the elevator doors aren't closing (we can see that she hit the hold button), and she's trying to trigger them to shut by stepping out of the elevator at various speeds, as if she thinks there's a sensor.

Because if she did have a laptop that would explain that she had updated the blog about the phone but if she didn't then who updated the blog about the phone? Also being paranoid did she accidentally gave her password away thinking no one was there when there actually was which could actually happen?

  • @explosivepotatos

    @explosivepotatos

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@areecelemonfang5931 Yes, you are being very paranoid, but that is okay (in terms of investigations though). You have to use some common sense, such as how it was a long trip and she had a blog, so she most likely had her laptop. Also, I am pretty sure investigators would be questioning that if it was missing. For the password leak, that is a very wild guess. With both her normal and manic behavior, it is unlikely that happened, and if someone did get the password, they would have to find and get to the laptop.

    I don't care what anyone says, I think the hotel should have been held responsible. Even if Elisa ended up there purely from mental health reasons and nothing to do with anyone else... they knew she was acting odd (apparently) like the reason the changed her rooms and when she apparently had her outburst saying LA was crazy but so was she, etc, that coupled with the fact that the roof should have been made safer, especially considering the amount of people they have had who have jumped. It could have had surveillance or there could have been more precautions taken to make it safer. That hotel is known for its crimes, it's deaths and all of the terrible stuff that has happened there. I do think the hotel staff are somewhat responsible. Especially because the police dogs did smell Elisa's scent even reaching the fire exit.. they only briefly checked the roof as well (clearly) I'm on a lot of the same medications as Elisa and if she just randomly stopped her medication, she would either get really sick, or even die. She deffo would have needed the hospital. I have bpd, major depression, ocd, anxiety, ptsd and I even struggled a lot with psychosis. I'm not discrediting that she was ill. She absolutely was!- but I still think it could have been foul play, especially because she was talking about meeting these men and whatnot and the cecil hotel is known to have a lot of crimes and a lot of the worst criminals in the USA there. Maybe she was having an episode and someone took advantage of the fact, maybe she was hallucinating because something real had triggered her paranoia, who knows Also, p.s, when it says she was on a lot of drugs, it means medication, she wasn't tripping on acid and smoking crack.

    The elevator video had covered time markers, potentially covering up the fact that the video was sped up and slowed down to make it creepy (as well as to make her look more crazy). There was other evidence that she was naked and had potentially body damage that could have pointed to her being sexually assaulted (the hotel has its history with its employees at the time) but it was hidden away because the hotel paid it off. This was a terrible incident and a sad tragedy

  • @freeziez

    @freeziez

    this is extremely misleading information. the time markers are covered but the video shows no evidence of actually being sped up or slowed down. nearly all the deaths at the hotel have come by suicides that are publicly disclosed and there is no evidence that anyone was paid off. the injuries to her body also have scientific explanations related to decomposition, and although it is unsettling that the autopsy report was not as detailed as it should have been, there was no published evidence of sexual assault. also toxicology proved that she wasn't taking all of the medications she needed for her bipolar disorder which very easily could have lead to a manic episode. i'm tired of these true crime nerds sensationalizing a poor woman's death because they can't come to terms with things just happening by accident. tl;dr you're an idiot

  • @madelineyoung9280

    @madelineyoung9280

    She was most likely naked because she didn’t die immediately in the water tank, and people remove their clothes when drowning to try to swim better. The hotel was probably trying to shut people up because, although this is a terribly tragic death, a business still does want to get sued or have any allegations against them. This was a very, very heartbreaking death, but all signs point to it being an accident. At this point it’s probably respectful to just let her rest and remember her as she was alive instead of speculating on her death. Speculation and investigation probably needs to be left to the investigators or people close to her if they feel it’s necessary.

    As a psychiatrist, judging from the video i can confirm that this is clearly hallucinatory attitude, people with bipolar can present with psychosis, especially seeing that she was put on Quetiapine (an antipsychotic drug) meaning she might have experienced psychosis before, i can tell you there is NOTHING scarier than a psychotic patient who is suicidal or homicidal, they basically don't exist in our world, they see and hear things that are not true; and act based on them being true! It's our job as psychiatrists to be that safe layer between them and harm, that is, until we can bring them back to our world again! It's terrible what happened to her, may she rest in peace..

Maybe that's why she went to the roof, and why she went inside the water tank. Perhaps she thought it was a good place to hide? But then she got stuck, and reality caved in. Maybe, but the hotel Cecil was old and she was also moving in and out of the elevator fairly frequently, which could’ve triggered the door to stay open, and it also could’ve been the fact that she pressed all the buttons on the panel.
