So nice to see this plugin being explored on the electric guitar, thanks for uploading this video!

I've grabbed their supermassive plugin (delay + reverb) and it's MASSIVE. I've always faced some difficulties trying to get sounds out of ambience plugins but this one is super intuitive and the presets are pretty helpful

I bought an EQD Plumes, a Keeley Eccos and a Korg NTS-1 recently. Then I found a Yamaha Pacifica 112 in a thrift store for $26.50. Some cool gear and a decent strat copy all for less than $500. Has been a good source of new inspirations. I am glad to see your using your talented ears and fingers so very well Bill. Thank you for sharing your stuff.

Valhalla makes incredible plugs. And their prices are truly remarkable. I have always used the Waves H-Delay because of its ease of use but this is such a powerful plug, I'm sure I will be using this a lot on my synths, vocals, and guitars.

This video is a goldmine, and I'll definitely try all of these. Thanks! One more slightly unconventional thing I used it for is the pitch shifting (blending it in with automation) - you can get some really angelic/satanic sounds with it depending on what intervals you use. It also has the best reverse delay I have ever heard, and I managed to get some beautifully surreal, droney sounds with it.

Really informative video, Bill. I’ve been using Valhalla Delay since it came out and it’s been my number one delay. That said, you’ve demonstrated a few more uses for this great plugin that I probably wouldn’t have come up with on my own. The Frippertronics possibilities on this delay are just endless. However, it would really, really be nice if Valhalla would put a “hold” or “freeze” function on the delay. There have been countless times I’ve had a wonderful ambience going and wanted to just “freeze” the buffer and play over it. I’ve suggested this to Valhalla, but don’t know if this is in their plans for an upgrade. Maybe you could lobby them for this useful feature. Great video, as usual.

Hi Bill. Great video. Very interesting delay. Where do you put your volume pedal in the chain when you are using a delay plugin like this? Thanks.

Hi Bill, many thanks for yet another great video! For the Frippertronic style, can you "hold" the delays and play something else over it with this plugin?

Great video, man. Also you might well have a secondary career in ASMR. Seriously though, really enjoyed the vid, fascinating and well explained.

How do you connect your guitar to play this soft synth effect? I can only get it work through the midi keyboard.

is there a way to let the delay for Frippertronics going on and stop recording? kind of way the El Capistan works?

Yes, but the process is different for plugins. You could setup the plugin on a aux track then connect some kind of MIDI controller to your DAW and use it to control whether or not the guitar channel sends its signal to the aux track. This would have the same effect as having Buffered bypass/trails on the El Capistan. One thing you would also want to do is capture the turning on and off of the send as automation when you record so you can playback the performance properly.

Thanks for doing another great video on Valhalla Delay. I don't play guitar and I still find myself watching a lot of your vids. (Keyboards) I just purchased Ubermod by Valhalla and would like to see what you can do with it. It's kind of a weird one...

Valhalla doesn't use bucket brigade delay, they use infinite curved horns of ale.
