Val Gardena: To the Stevia via Forcela de Piza & La Palota | Beautiful hike in the Dolomites
Beautiful round tour in the Val Gardena to the Stevia. The ascent at the beginning can be shortened with the Col Raiser gondola. Then via Regensburger hut through the Piza Scharte, descent to the Stevia hut, back via Palotasteig and Daunëi towards S. Cristina.
You can park (for a fee) at the Col Raiser gondola valley station, then ascend with the gondola. At the top, first descend to the Regensburger Hütte (Rifugio Firenze), then turn left and climb steadily to the Piza Scharte. Here, ascend via a beautifully constructed path with many stairs and wooden steps. At the top, it is worth making a detour to the right to the La Piza peak (not marked), where you can enjoy views back to the Hochalm and down to the Regensburger Hut. Then down again and to the right to the Stevia hut (in summer a stop is possible). Here then descending into a depression, to the right you could also descend via the Silvesterscharte to the Juac hut and walk along the gondola to the valley station. We go left with a detour to the viewpoint La Steviola. Then descend over the grassy ridge to the Palota trail down many steps to Daunëi. Here we take to the right the hiking trail to S. Cristina and at the entrance of the village we return to the parking lot.
Start: Col Raiser cable car valley station (Selva Gardena) - alternatively hike up to the Regensburger Hut
Length: 12 km
Duration: 5,5 hours
Altitude difference: 713 up, 1270 down
Difficulty: moderately difficult hike, paths require surefootedness, some head for heights at the top of the edge of the Stevia Hochalm.
Tip: stop at the Stevia Hut; from Daunei you can also descend to Selva Gardena and take the bus back to S. Cristina / to the Col Raiser valley station.

Eine großartige Tour, bin sie letzten Herbst anders herum gelaufen, vom Parkplatz auf die Hütte und dann die Pizascharte herunter. Anspruchsvoll und von einer sehr beeindruckenden Landschaft. Wir saßen umgeben von Alpendohlen ganz alleine an der Hütte. Traumhaft.
