Depends on who actually writes Vader. It's like in new cannon, in one of the marvel comics he's shown to use troopers as human shields, but in the Tarkin novel he's shown to respect his men and treat them well

to be fair, Vader was treating these clones with respect up until he found the chance at an apprentice. One that needed to be kept secret with no loose ends and that includes witnesses.

I loved this clone trooper design, it’s like a perfect blend between phase 2 clone armor and stormtrooper armor. I always used to consider this phase 3 armor before it finaly became stormtrooper armor. Shame disney made all this non canon.

Space Jesus the hybrid armor between clone and storm trooper with blue markings and the gunships are definitely the best parts.

It feels so wrong to see them in battle together, as the Republic and Empire were very different, at least in certain ways and fought for different things...but it's so neat nonetheless.

@@welkingunther5417 when you think about it Mid way through the clone wars the republic was already in most parts like the Empire with the new Military Establish and hierarchical system that was built up by men like Tarkin. The Republic was already subjugating worlds and people and committed war crimes, plus the Jedi became very hated and were blamed for all these reasons.

The Empire would've been unstoppable if they continued to use the Republic vehicles in addition to the Imperial vehicles. And if they just straight up court-martialed and executed Admiral Ozzel, Admiral Motti and General Otto before they were allowed to create massive weaknesses within the empire.

I love the blend of phase II clone armour and storm trooper armour. The PlayStation and Wii version had some incredible designs exclusive to their version

The pilot of the gunship at the end: “ I’m in danger”

Seeing division markings on almost Stormtrooper armor is great. Seeing AT-ATs and gunships together is great. The entire aesthetic of the era where the Republic was becoming the Empire is divine.

I remember desperately trying to keeping the few troopers following me alive. I wish there could be more games like this

Imagine a full game based on this, the early years of the Empire centered around Vader and the 501st as they hunt down Jedi, takeover worlds, and crush Rebellions. Oh damn thanks for the likes! I never realized that the cut scenes would be so different depending on the platform you're using. On the DS version I played, Vader force pushes the stormtroopers back and then he force chokes the imperial officer who is in battle armor, so these other cut scenes are interesting to see!

I got Forced Unleashed on Steam this past May and played the first level to see what it was like on a different platform, and the PC version still seemed to have the bit where Vader takes his lightsaber to attack the others instead of using the force. Is there a another PC version that's more similar to the DS version?

White Chili There appears to be four different versions. PS3/360/PC PS2/Wii/PSP DS N-Gage I’ve played the PS3 version and Vader in it while uses the Force is more a melee fighter in the first level. The cutscene for the PS3 version is very similar to what you described for the DS.

Same. On the PS2 there is an officer who gets choked and then a trooper follows him

I love how Vadar essentially Chokes the commanders and generals who keep saying "I have it all under control, or we will have it done soon so on...." but the captains or soldiers,the men actually in the heat of the fight and on the frontlines say "reporting for duty Lord Vadar" and Vadar just says "very good captain or soldier" I don't if thats some sort of warrior to warrior respect or perhaps Vadar just prefers working along side people who actually are trying to get things done instead of saying they are...

I do, it was quite a unique experience where you survived wave after wave of clone trooper's and Force duel mode was my favorite mode because you pick any character to play as and you go head to head duels. I think the PSP version of the game is the best in my opinion because it has more exclusive features and the story mode is more extended.

I've played both the PSP and 360 versions of this game. This version had more in terms of story with more missions, those Jedi Temple missions were personal favs of mine

Well in the PS3 version it might be hard to notice but those stormtroopers at the beginning had a small vertical stripe embedded under their visors, as part of the breathing apparatus part, almost creating a similar shape to the clone helmet visor

This was not long after episode three clone troopers had not yet been phased out of the newly formed empire and were still in use, whatever clones were on kamino completed their training and either became clone troopers and or became (eventually) high ranking stormtroopers training what we know now as stormtroopers (average citizens of the galaxy)

This is why this version of the game was better, you could actually see the evolution of stormtrooper armor. Really loved that detail

3:12 No wonder he's so powerful, he can touch a light saber blade and not even be phased by it. Also a pretty neat detail, that's Vader's first saber model, he disliked it because it was too small for his newfound large hands. The devs really knew their shit about the canon.

Y’know, even if this doesn’t look as good as the PC/7thGen console versions, I do like this mission being set at night. Really fits with the dark opening of Starkiller’s origins

This cut scene brings back so many memories.

Dude, I really used to think this was the peak of graphics in video games. Like, in my head, I remember this section being the most badass and cinematic level ever. Holy shit nostalgia is powerful

It's great to see this scene again, ever since I lost the ps2 version I started to doubt if I had always remembered it correctly and almost figured that this scene never existed. Glad I was wrong though, it was a really good prologue

I remember playing this on my Wii and ps2 as a child. Some of the best memories battling my brother on the versus mode in the Wii version.

I like the fact that the storm trooper armor was painted blue instead of just a plain white it just gives off the cool looking feeling

There’s something that’s just so awesome about seeing Vader fighting next to clones we need to see more of that

Not so much, I see it as he saw the son that he never had, he sensed how powerful he was and knew he would be perfect for taking out the emperor, but he couldn’t have any witnesses to tell the emperor

The force unleashed is just a masterpiece. Imagine it with jedi fallen order graphics. That would be insane.

I remember having the PSP version of the game and it was super fun. They extended the storyline, it had really cool exclusive modes such as Order 66, Force duel ( my favorite mode ) where you go head to head duels, Historic missions, and multi-player mode. Not the best graphics but in terms of gameplay and story mode, it's definitely top notch. I'd give this game an A+.

"Leave that to me" That was the most badass line Vader ever said in any Star Wars game for me, and the fact that it's only in the PS2/Wii/PSP version of the game makes me a little sad.

These are the 501 Stormtroopers, there are still Clones in their ranks, but a lot are human recruits, specially officers

I absolutely love this opening seeing republic and imperial era vehicles like the LAAT’s plus the design of the troopers is a perfect blend of phase 2 and storm trooper, then the later trooper designs are also extremely cool I have no idea why the imperial designs go so hard really wish some of these could translate into canon

I love the period transition between Republic and Empire even in the ps3/Xbox 360 version with the storm trooper helmets but more here with the blue paint. The mix of vehicles between the AT-ATs and LAATs. The hunt of the jedi and the galactic conquest of the ancient allied worlds.

I use to have this one on my psp. I miss those glory days so much

Actually the ps3 version seems hollow to me, good graphics but there is no emotion or good cutscenes, I played tfu on ps2 first and I must say its much more superior in terms of storytelling

The silence actually makes it tense because you don't know what Vader's actually gonna do and you can tell he's thinking

I was pleasantly surprised at the turn of this whole video lol

i love the use or republic assets in the early days of the empire. Really nails it down for me.
