Vaccinating Calves
All the cows out out of the hills and it’s time to wean the calves.
Today we wean and vaccinate the last group of our calves. We are giving two different vaccines: one for 5 different respiratory diseases and one for 7 different bacterial diseases, among which some can cause sudden death in calves.
It is a lot of fun to work alongside my father and I am thankful for this lifestyle!

Lil brisket 😮😊
Thanks 😊
I am a vet student , i might ve mentioned that in one of my earlier comments, the reason for me to mention my career choice is because i see a lot of calves on a daily basis but these calves are really good looking the confirmation and hip disposition nearly perfect and also they look really healthy and clean. I bet it's beacuse of the natural grazing they ve had in the open prairie . This is the reason vets recommend ppl with cow calf operations to ve pasture so the calves can move around without all the mud and slew , so their full genetic potential of size and composition is attained . U guys are really doing it the right way . Makes me real happy.
Calves look great.... Thanks for sharing
😋 sorry not sorry!😮😊
Good information thanks. Nice looking cattle.
Nice looking cattle, guys. Theres another good ranching/farming channel out of Mt Vernon, SD called Sonne Farms. You guys make great videos up there. Hope to see more. 👍🏻

Thank you! We really appreciate it! Sonne farms does do a great job and we enjoy their channel!
Good looking blacks! I enjoy the calm, quiet way you work your stock. Pays off because when you were moving the herd, the lead cows were eating from your wife's hand. Good job!

Thanks Ken, I appreciate it!
I'm currently binge watching all your videos. I'm in Colorado. Only been to South Dakota once. The black hills are gorgeous
A very nice setup for handling the cattle.

Thanks Larry!
Good-looking cattle. Nice handling setup. Now if you could figure out how to keep the packers from short changing you, things would be better.

That’s the truth John, if you figure it out you should let us know!
7 & 8 weight calves coming right off mama! Your South Dakota grass packs a lot more punch than our Nebraska grass. Obviously genetics play a huge part too. A lot of years have gone into making a set of calves like these.

Thank you! It seems the grass packs more punch in these dry years so the calves did good! Hope everything is going well in Nebraska!

Do y’all do the growth hormone in the ear?
Liked seeing the lot layout. You should show what you do for water for the calves.
