With the V8, one thing that people miss is having the torque and knowing when the the shift will happen with certain throttle pressure. OR the fact that with a V8 a shift doesn't need to happen. It's a pleasure on the right foot. AND passing people on back Texas country roads.

I am the owner of a Lexus GS430 from 2005, Road tax for my is £395, I have LPG system so it`s cheep to run, £0.79 per liter. I also have a stainless steel exhaust so it`s loud. Perfect car, comfortable, fast, has a beautiful sound, and it's Japanese so it doesn't break down. I've been driving it for over 2 years, it's not boring at all :D I recommend it to everyone

I have a few questions regarding these cats in lpg version. How safe is lpg. Im scared of what may happen in case of a car crash. How easy do you find lpg refueling Stations? How does lpg conversion affect reliability? Can you still run normal fuel as well?

I had a 92 lexus soarer v8, it was one of the comfiest cars ive had. The gadgets it had are only just standard on alot of cars now. Plus it was bombproof.
Definitely need to check out the ISF
I had to watch this because I've got this car and I'm a dad. It's exactly as you say. It's a reliable comfortable biggish car which sounds great and goes fast enough to make you feel like you've got something which isn't boring or ordinary. Although I've been guilty of thinking about getting a Quattroporte too...

Hey mate, love this, just catching up on some of your videos. I’ve had two Lexus ISF’s with its 5.0 V8 developed with Yamaha and 416bhp. You should try and get one on the channel, very Jekyll and Hyde car. Rare too.

Far more reliable than a lot of stuff of the same age 👌
Fantastic review, love mine bought 5 years ago in really good condition and paid £4000 I drove most of the competition (545, E500, XF) and only the Jag got close but the cheaper and more reliable Lexus got my vote. Only thing ive done is service it and put a stainless steel exhaust on for a bit more sound (the guy who made it said it would spoil it, yet in reality its barely any louder than stock unless you find a tunnel and roll the windows down 😈) interestingly I was looking at a GS300 but are hard to find with all the toys then I found this much rarer 430 and realised they all come fully loaded for the UK market! Also mine is 2005 meaning its around HALF the price to tax as the 2006 onwards. Must be mad but I'm thinking of selling mine simply because I miss having a manual about 10% of the time.

Sounds like a nice car Jack 👏
It's got that Hot Hatch mentality that makes a perfect Dad Car: drive the kids to school practically and comfortably then blaze home like your hair's on fire (or beard). And with so few around, while it may not be the most special looking car (although very handsome I think), knowing you've got something quite rare does make it a bit more special.
@dadcars

I agree 👏
Love the video with the kids in the back. I hate that people decide that they need to turn in their manhood and get an SUV or minivan if they have kids. Not sure if this car is available where you live but I own a 2012 Hyundai Genesis with a 4.6 L V8. That option was available beginning in 2009. There is also a 5.0 liter V8 available starting in 2012 with 429 horsepower.
Another great video

I'm a big fan of the Lexus gs my brother has owned a couple of hybrid versions gs450h. The downside to hybrid is the fact the batteries take up half the boot space but you get a 3.5 v6 combined with a hybrid. This way you get 340bhp and still get 30mpg around town and 40mpg on the motorway
@dadcars
Жыл бұрын
I’ve never driven a hybrid, not sure how they will all be when they are 15 years old which are the cars I tend to go for 😅
@Birmingham_racing
Жыл бұрын
@@dadcars if they get serviced on time the batteries tend to last. His gs450h was the first hybrid I've driven and it's really smooth and refined with instant torque. Don't think of it anything like a Prius because a Prius doesn't have 340bhp

Nice review. I didn't know they did V8 in this model. Everyone knows of the isf and gsf but they are so expensive. This is much more affordable but once again the only thing that is putting me off is the tax. And yet electric cars pay £0… but still have 4 tyres on the road creating potholes. You could try lexus gs450h?
Im considering a GS so that helped. I have a CLS shooting brake, review it if you can, personally its my first and last Merc, its nice and so on but maintanance ☠️ third party insurance (we call it kasko) insane price. Atleast i have my Audi A5 coupe, not as baby friendly car but if child is about 1,5yo then you can manage somekind of a safetyseat in, tho its hard to find a seat that sits good with sportseats
Even though they are pretty similar, Reviewing a LS430 or Ls400 (The 90S Toyota luxury v8) since they were meant to be the flagships of luxury while they were trying to compete with German luxury cars

Another point about this car is that adaptive suspension shocks are expensive from Lexus especially for a cheap car to start with. Good thing is you can buy the static shock replacements from the gs300/350 of the same model year and just unplug

I fitted a pair of new adaptive shocks on mine when I first got it, £118 from a local company not 100% if they are genuine but 5 years since and they are still working fine.
Funny I had this car for a short time! Loved the creature comforts but didn’t like that it didn’t have an LSD and it just kept Losing traction in one wheel when I had a go at the local drag strip
