V8 Bentayga: A PROPER Bentley! - Full Review

The last time we featured a Bentley it was the iconic continental W12, and we looked at the complicated history of the brand, leading up to their most well-known car!
Today we look at their least traditional offering, the luxury SUV Bentayga.
This is the V8 Bentley Bentayga in all its facelift Glory. It’s been updated to match the Conti and fly-spying spur in its facelift look, bringing the whole family in line visually, along with some significant updates inside.
So let’s check out this Verdant Green #Luxury V8 facelift #Bentayga. The story began with the 2012 - #Bentley EXP 9 F: Very much the brainchild of Bentley Chairman Wolfgang Dürheimer, he was also product chief of Porsche and pushed the cayenne through opposition back then! Undoubtedly the biggest success story for them also may explain why the first Bentayga looked so gen-1 cayenne from the year! The reception to this concept’s design was exceedingly negative, I mocked it too back then, yet when I look at it now… I think it’s aged exceedingly well. Maybe we weren’t ready for it then
The original thus played it a bit safer. A more round look, mimicking the conti from back then, similar lights front and back too. And the car was well received and did some amazing sales as now their best selling model. Last year it accounted for 37% of sales! Mind-blowing.
Now it’s been facelifted. And every panel has been redesigned from the front end, matrix grille is now more upright, new headlights cut crystal glassware and overall a more blocky, less round design. But crucially, in line with continental. Some details outside like the side wing with a lovely B motif are carried inside later.
It has a new full-width tailgate, via a 20 mm increase to the rear track width brings dynamic benefit and repositions the wheels in their arches to improve the car’s stance. The best part of the rear are the Conti style 3D elliptical tail-lights with animated LEDs and a Larger rear spoiler.
This V8 version had the 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged petrol engine which develops 542 bhp (550 PS) and 568 lb.ft. (770 Nm) of torque. In the future we’ll check our the V6 hybrid and the new Speed too!
The Portland and Cumbrian green leather
Interior features all-new seats and trim, and increased rear legroom. Main benefit is the next-generation infotainment system with a 10.9-inch screen, CarPlay/android auto as standard, and a smart digital driver zone.

The pre facelift model is ugly, the facelift model is worse. When the tailgate is open, it is unmistakably a Q7.

My wife really wants one of these and having had a look at a local demonstrator, the interior makes you forget the outside completely. These must never be bought in black as they are a Taxi disaster BUT in a nice specification, colour and as a Speed model, then I would buy one very happily. The revised looks…the front is better and the old back needed work but this new rear just looks awkward and an afterthought….I think the old design was more harmonious but has also aged very quickly. However…to all those haters, if you can, just sit in one and you may well change your mind..you don’t care if people dislike it, you do and you know why. Raz…thank you…but I have a highly spec’d Cayenne Turbo on my open tabs and it is a good £75000 less than the Bentayga I configured today…hmmm….🤔🤔🤔😃😃😃😃😃

Bentley needs to be a little more careful with the design of their top selling car. The rear looks like two cars piled on top of each other at a junk yard.

in the case of this car it was less a facelift and more an asslift

the fact they are all re-bodied audi's really puts me off like ford jags back in the day, which are now tata jags which is even worse maybe, if you buy a mercedes or bmw you know its unique to that brand only if you buy porche or bentley you always have a thought in your head did i just buy an overpriced audi, which of course you did and that makes it much less cool

Bentayga follows the same as Porsche's 4 doors models, startet as a bad abortion, and got better with each new models.

The rear is very Q7. The facelift model looks a cheaper car.
It doesn’t look distinctive enough. A non-car-person could easily think it is a VW touareg or an Asian cheap suv even. A Range Rover and a g class both look distinctive. But I still think the Bentayga looks good compared with most suvs.

I'm sorry to say... but i think it looks hidiouse... I'm sure it's beautifully engineered and drives nicely... But give me a Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate for around one third of the price please.
It feels so much like a Volkswagen product, I can't unsee the Audi steering wheel.. it's like a well dressed Q7... still beautiful

Those rear tail lights look like swollen lips... why couldn't bentley copy the gt instead of making it weird
Looks like a Mini Countryman on steroids in that green colour. Quite outdated inside and out compared to the Maybach GLS and to where the new Merc interiors are heading.
Rear seats in particular, look unsculptured and uncomfortable..
Bentayga V8 or Range Rover Vogue?
Beautiful interior, ugly as sin on the exterior compared to the Cayenne and Range Rover and other luxury SUV's. Great video however as always.

Old taillights look better on the Bentayga.
Crap spec, and as with the previous Bentayga to make it look even remotely decent you need to put an aftermarket kit on. However I would assume I'm not Bentley's target market for this thing.
