Was love;y to see all of the Darkside Developments.co.uk guys at Donington park today. I was lucky enough to have Scott take me out for some very fast laps in their ibiza race car and their amazing Skoda citygo all wheel drive track monster....I’ve never been more impressed with the levels of grip,power and all round performance you attain from these vag engines cars....awesome!!! I will be bringing my leon up to have some magic performed very soon. Thanks again for the opportunity to be driven around....you guys are so approachable and generous with your time and machinery.... Would slapping a high flow DPF inline keep it passing the MOT whilst keeping flow and noise at a maximum then?

Careful tuning will get you minimal to no smoke

The pipes should be OK as they are pretty decent on these, but if we can make an upgrade, we will!

We are doing these vlogs to show different stages. A lot of customers still want remaps with the stock exhaust system in place.

Ahh man it sounds SOOoo good with the DPF out, too bad you can't keep it that way. Just personal opinion this one but when it eventually comes to the new exhaust tips, I find the looks of dual tips much more than the quad tips on S5. This first generation A5 Coupe was designed so well that I personally find there is no better look than everything OEM.

I'd love my 335D to sound like this.. yes I know it's an IL6 engine and not a v6

Did you end up doing a DSG Tune? Are you retuning after the exhaust? Will you upload a performance/dyno video with the DSG tune and exhaust tune? Thanks.

DSG Tune is not done yet. We are seeing how we get on without it first, since not all customers will have it. There is not really any need to retune after the exhaust. Dyno soon...

I have just done a remap on mine, if I install this dpf delete will I be able to drive the car as it is or will it bring up codes if I don't get dpf coded out straight away? Thanks just need to know before I buy

Would automatically fail with that system, but just gutting it should be alright as long as you get a decent map to go with it.

Drop us an email with your Reg / VIN and we can advise on the exact parts. Exhaust, DPF, Labour and software is less than £2k. The bushes etc Labour depends on how hard the old stuff is to get out! But we can price it all!

Why is there no smoke after DPF removal? Was also thinking of a custom exhaust, but honestly, I wouldn't like smoke comming out like I've seen on most DPF removals.

Hi, I`m after a bit of advise on an exhaust problem and a bit lost and i see that you guys know your exhaust mods so i`m kinda hoping i could get some pro tip. I have a 2013 Audi A5 8T3 3.0 TDI which has the RS kit on and the rear has the diffuser with the oval fake tips (which i removed at the mo) as i need to grind down my pipe ends so it does not knock on the fake tips. I have the possiblity of a pair of original RS5 back boxes (they are cut at the service point) from a RS5 F5 module which have the oval tips already attached. The question is am i able to fit them on my car and would they sit inside the diffuser holes without knocking on the edge of the holes? Thank you in advance for any info you could provide as it would really help me out. Cheers Mark

@@DarksideDevelopments the reason i ask is that the actual box is pretty much the same but the rs uses twin exit ports off the box where as my a5 only uses one exit and the other is blanked off. If that helps? Once i`ve done the external i do wanna map the engine and would also like to know if the gearbox can be mapped or something to tighten up the change of gears etc. Cheers anyway you guys do awesome work on the cars you have in!!

Once the DPF has been gutted and EGR blanked, does the car need remapping to prevent smoke? Or can they essentially just be ‘switch off’ in the ECU without a full remap?

A remap is not needed just the software removal. Smoke should not be bad on the stock tune.

Yes the software needs removing but you do not have to tune the car for more power

When i bought my a5 It had the dpf gutted out with standard exaust and it wasn't really noticeable sound wise

3.0TDI on those early A5’s is CAPA model and comes with a little bit better HPFP than the later A4’s with almost-the-same 3.0TDI, but still limiting it to somewhere +350 hp. So I assume that that is also on your to-be-updated list? Any plans to start selling bolt-on HPFP upgrade for 3.0TDIs? Just asking for a friend... 🙄

Where is the black smoke?

Obviously DPF delete being something that will fail an MOT here in the UK, what is the best exhaust set up for a nice V6 TDI such as this that preserves the DPF? I imagine this is something you'd commonly do. Do you have any examples of a best case scenario? I'm looking to see what the best we can reasonably hope for would be while remaining on the road

Tune it right and the only thing you see it just slight haze on WOT (can it even be said WOT when talking about diesels...?) even without the DPF.
