The point of "I Need U" is that we are stronger and happier together, and we can strengthen and support each other through tough times. The timeline in the Bangtan Universe is all over the place. The MV was not necessarily showing events in consecutive order. Also about who sings what parts, for a lot of their songs, they will each song the entire song on a guide track to see which parts will suite them better and some parts are specifically written to suite the unique sound of that particular member. Sometimes a few of them will each write part of a song and all listen to them together and pick whose version they want to use. And yes the format of a lot of their More poppy songs are very standard. Like verse chorus, verse, bridge, chorus type set up. But they have a lot of songs that are unconventionaly laid out as well. The guide would be the first one where the others learn the song. From my ear, most of the time if you hear a backing voice that isn’t just the main singer for that time, it is JK’s voice. But you are right, RM said they would all sing the parts and then the best were picked for each part no matter who that is. That’s why people shouldn’t second guess how many lines they all get. BTS knows what they are doing.

all of this is apart of the BU its a deep story line.

I get why some of the music might sound overly produced or cookie cutter, considering most of this is still new, and I know y'all are listening to multiple K-Pop groups at this point. (And I didn't take the cookie cutter line to mean each song sounds same, same, same, same--but more trying to understand if somewhat evenly distributing lines among the vocalists was a usual practice and wondering if they follow the same pattern of dividing up lines). I can't speak on how the artists and their producers make those decisions about who will sing what, but I do know that the more I listened to BTS and other K-Pop artists, I got used to that style of having different people sing different lines. Now I prefer songs being vocally arranged this way to groups where you have one or two lead vocalists and everyone else does mostly harmony or backing. I think it gives more of an opportunity for each member to show off their unique voice, and it makes the songs interesting because of everyone's different texture and interpretation. When they they layer vocals in different ways or have someone singing ad-libs over someone else's line, it adds interest as well. Enjoy the journey down the BU rabbit hole. Would love to hear more of your interpretations first without ARMYs giving too many spoilers. I personally prefer being able to watch y'all make sense of things yourself, even if it's through trial and error, than having someone tell you everything!

Amazing explanation 🔥🔥🔥 We also have to walk a very fine line between (and I can only speak for myself. The other two fellas may not feel this way) going in blindly to a reaction vs reading up on what we are going to review a little bit. For myself the reason being, this is all still VERY new to me. The fashion, the language barrier, the sound of the music in general is all still a foreign concept for me so for the sake of not saying something to piss everybody off (I’m a jokester, I like to make jokes not to be malicious but that’s just how I grew up and I have quickly learned that kpop fans may not understand my humor) I like to at least get a general overview of what we are watching. Hope that explains my side at least a little bit better

I remember getting a little bristly when I first started watching the channel 😂 but now I understand the dynamic between you all and everyone’s sense of humor better. ​@@4pminphx no, it's important context. Most people who try to decipher the storyline assume it's either his gf or his mom getting hit, or they think he was just walking by and jumped in to help. If you decide to check out the storyline, usually ARMYs will just give you hints and point out things you missed, tho some do spoil. If you do the BU (BTS universe - their storyline) just tell us to not spoil, and how much help you want. 💜

And just to think this was supposed to be their disbandment song because if it didn’t blow up, they probably would’ve broken up because of their company, not having enough money❤️❤️❤️❤️

They have talent, efforts and intelligence to equities they art/sincerity/personality with what is needed and well received for the people/markets (sorry for the mistakes in English).

In the BTS universe the BU jin is the main character. He is a time traveler Going places where bad things happen to the other members and saving them.

I always appreciate your attempts to analyze BTS. Their work is so multilayered and filled with symbolism that the initial watch never reveals it fully. It often takes multiple listens and relistening after new music is released to understand it along with their interviews. I don’t agree with the cookie cutter comment at all. All of the music is distinct and different. They do however like a few other artists have concept albums and or conceptual projects that follow themes which may be why you feel it cookie cutter. In addition there is a storyline that runs throughout some of the videos and songs that has expanded into books and web stories. They jump timelines so it can be confusing initially. There are in depth reactions to the Bangtan Universe (BU) and have their own set of analysis. They do this for the fans as they could easily have just put out music only.

The BU is a wild ride. You got the MVs, The Notes (basically diary entries), there are also VCRs that are from stage performances, short story videos that all connect to the BU. (I’ve probably left something out) The beginning of the BU was like solving a mystery & every time you thought you had it figured out something new would drop & it was back to the drawing board with the theories. I think many of us had a room full of yarn & thumbtacks. 😂🤔🫠🧐

If you watch this mv as stand alone then you would see each of them have shows going through some mental health issues, trauma, societal pressure, dealing with prejudices etc. although this MV is part of BU storyline which is a fictional storyline runs through their albums. if you see explanation videos for this then you will get the context. also yes after this song they kind of changed how their songs will sound like and they evolved through experimenting with different genres, styles etc.

I think what you are trying to say is that it seems everything was planned. Something I hear, please, correct me if I'm wrong. Bang PD came with the idea of the BU before BTS debut. When they succeeded he presented the idea and it became a part of some of their music videos. Many of the music videos don't have anything to do with the writing of the song. When the members write a song and present it to everyone else and decide to publish they come together and decide who sings which part. Taking into consideration what is best for the song.

out of respect for you cause i know you from the redemption channel and know youre clearly army but your friend here clearly still has some BS misconceptions about bts and kpop as a whole. and youre also pushing some narratives too. like the before and after thing. yes this era is important and bts got more success and fame even won awards through it etc but they DID have REAL and SUBSTANCE in the previous albums and eras. they may not be your favorite but dont just say they werent saying real stuff before. N.O alone stopped THOUSANDS of kids in korea and globally from unaliving due to school pressure from their parents and society especially in Asia. No more dream HELPED so many kids decide to rebel and choose their own paths in life instead of following what their parents wanted. and they didnt even listen to the entire albums/EPs. PALDOGANGSAN literally pushed for peace when it comes to korean dialects which bullying is so severe and thats one reason for it being different sounding differenct using different vocabulary etc. ALSO alluded to reunification with N korea. theres SO much substance and realness in those albums dont dismiss that to new people just cause theyre not your favorite songs thats being dishonest. we dont have to love every song but atleast allow them to make their own decisions about it. i dont care if they dont like a song but have a better explanation than it "lacks substance" or is "cookie cutter" explain in detail why its what you claim it is say it with your chest without edit and apply this to western artists too. because besides boybands which are not even in the same artistic box as bts. you wont find people saying this stuff about western artists. what makes a song cookie cutter? lack of meaning. if its a love song it has meaning, but even then bts love songs are maybe 10% of their discography the other 80% has much deeper songs (even in the first albums even PREDEBUT) like adult child where they bluntly tell you how they as korean men feel about military service 11 years before they served. like i said i respect you and like that youre helping them and i like them theyre funny and are taking bts a little more seriously but the one on the right is still being very judgey i think you should teach them about bts history more like the hardships or have them react to bbygangmags videos and dkdktv explained etc so they get it more than just your explanations. and please go back and do full albums with correct lyric translations. or even skip around jump to reacting to spring day, reacting to the italain army video then reacting to rotten mangos video on sewol. show them something so they stop seeing bts as a backstreet boys cause backstreet boys did not help thousands of kids not unalive themselves, backstreet boys did not help the families grieve their children and expose what their govt did to the families to a global audience, backstreet boys did not perform a protest song on live TV and risk being blacklisted by their government and backstreet boys did not tell their govt to F off at their last group concert before enlisting while dropping the news the next day without telling the government so they can embarrass themselves in front of the world having media outlets globally shame them for making the group bringing in billions to their economy serve in the military. i can keep going on and on. stop comparing white boys to them especially mediocre white boys. no ones gonna come at you if you say this reminds you of MJ or boyz to men or Nas because those are people bts credited to inspiring them. they never claimed the backstreet boys or any others.
