    From the start I had a hunch V-Shred was a scam. I’ve always known that fitness is about how much effort you put in, and not everyone can handle the kind of lifestyle that is required for it. There is no “easy path” where you can eat pizza instead of salads.

  • @9Nikko8

    @9Nikko8

    11 ай бұрын

    Same for me. Also because of the pizza vs salad ad. And calling it rabbit food just because it's hard for people to train themselves to like less processed food? That was clearly bullshit. You can't have a healthy lifestyle and shredded body with NO compromise.

  • @ashscott6068

    @ashscott6068

    10 ай бұрын

    @@9Nikko8 Well, if you eat nothing but salad, you're going to lose weight through a process known as starvation, which, if not corrected, inevitably leads to a condition known as dying. ALL restrictive diets are unhealthy - veganism, carnivore, keto, bananas-only, etc. If you've had fish every day for so long that you're sick of fish...give fish a rest! We've never had many sources of food in human history, which were available all year round. By all means, eat that damn pizza! It won't take a single second off your lifespan. That's not how it works. Just switch it up, so you're never eating the same food all year round. And in the case of heavily processed foods, you just have to be even more aware of how often you're eating them. Pretty much every food has some toxic compounds in. But as long as you don't continually consume the same things, they do no harm whatsoever. But a shredded body is NOT healthy. That's called starvation, too, depending on your definition of "shredded"

    ill be completely honest i was introduced to this community through Vshred mostly because when it got to things they talked about through food through a paywall i just did a quick google search and found the answers i needed for the questions i had. and figured i didn't need to pay someone else to teach me how to do the exorcises. not giving them a pass but without it i wouldn't have been as health conscious as i am now. the best advice i would say anyone should have is defiantly study up on what is talked about and learn as much as possible before taking supplements. everything else can be learned elsewhere and even most of the stuff can be learned for free on KZread. if you need help the best thing to do is often going to a local gym and supporting your local coaches by taking lessons from them will often be better then relying on internet services.

I agree there are doctors that are terrible, but they are also required to carry malpractice insurance with their license. If a person is offering health related advice, it should to be correct information. And to be truly honest I would rather have someone operate on me that I know has gone through 12+ years of medical training over someone is just really passionate about cutting into people. Now there are people that could write books about complex topics, that have not a bit of classical education on these topics and these are the individuals that suffer at the hands of the dredded "bro science".

Think about the 200-pound 13-year-old girl, being called "whale" by her classmates, searches up v-shred on youtube, sees that she can just eat pizza every day and still lose weight, or that running doesn't do anything for weight loss, tries the bs workouts, fails to lose weight, and plunges into an even deeper depression (gaining even more weight as a result) because she thinks that it is her own fault that the workouts didn't do anything.

    @@davi8515 well that's very true and I agree with that for the most part, but when some people are so incredibly desperate, they aren't going to think rationally about it, in their heads, it's like they have simply been missing out in these few nuggets of advice which nobody has ever thought of before (a tactic used fucking everywhere, but that's because it's a very smart one) and they buy into it because, in their heads, it is their only hope. In the back of their mind, they very well might think that it IS kinda bs, but they still push forward because again, they've got no other option (in their eyes) and so they put all of their "hope" into this shit. in my eyes, I believe that this kind of shit is even more toxic than the whole body positivity fat-shaming shit because one thing leads to another. I believe that if we lived in a world where people were glorifying fitness LIFESTYLES rather than the fucking bodies they get as a result, then the world would be a whole lot healthier and a whole lot HAPPIER too. Then, we wouldn't be here talking about how a 250-pound woman is "healthy", glorifying those types of bodies as well as if people either glorify ripped or chubby and nothing else in between. and I am not saying that fat people are ugly or of less worth (i would be retarded if I said that) but I am saying that it is a pure delusion to think that their bodies are something to be achieved or looked up to. now look, I am not saying that people like vshred are single-handedly gonna destroy the fucking world with this kind of shit and that we must silence them as a result, but like you were kinda saying, we should combat that info, with info about healthy lifestyles and shit like easy workouts and ways to exercise if you are morbidly obese, shit like that. like if you see a kid roll up with fucked up teeth (like yellow, crooked, some fallen out, just a barren wasteland of Colegate) and you notice he gets made fun of for his teeth, and you stand up for him, it's probably because you have empathy, but are YOU now going to stop brushing your teeth and let them go to shit because "all teeth are unique" (or some dumb shit like that)? I wouldn't think so. it's that same kind of thing here, and if we all realized that, then people like vshred wouldn't have power in the first place. Btw, I am a fully-fledged liberal, but I couldn't agree less with this body positivity shit fest. (I had a lot of fucking free time on my hands lmao)

    His looks and physical size probably play extremely well towards the people he markets to. The guy is very lean and the adds that I’ve seen in the past cater to people looking for the “cheat code” to be shredded. People love to hear its easy and will buy in on that as opposed to hearing how dedicated you actually have to be in both the gym and the kitchen to get shredded.

  • @shechshire

    @shechshire

    He wants you to think that he’s that lean by eating pizza even though he won’t tell you how much pizza, how often he eats it, or what he does after eating the pizza. That is not a sustainable nutrition plan for developing a caloric deficit. Most people don’t have the discipline to eat very little pizza & then burn off the pizza plus the caloric deficit they need & then at the end of it feel like they’re starving making them relaps into over consuming calories.

Something else that might help, watch fitness youtube, but in a sense of people actually doing things physically in videos. Imo a great way to get motivated. The part at the end about the clothing is hilarious because Lululemon is on the scene and they're leggings are over $100 a pair. But I have nieces who are in high school and they claim that the real thing that you want in order to have status is the stupid bag they give you when you buy it. And you can only get the bag if you go in the store and all the kids use the bag for is just to carry around. So wow $70 for a pair of leggings is expensive as soon as you can tap into that teenage market you can start charging over 100 apparently

I'm sure if they made the same exact videos with an unattractive person, it will be a complete opposite results. Look at how he was literally copying Athlean-X's videos and his videos had more views than Athlean-X's. I'm not saying Jeff is unattractive but you have a younger and more better looking guy redo his videos and people flock to the better looking younger guy instead of the older, more experienced and knowledgeable guy.

    @@notgame6261 It isn't free speech, misinformation and exploitation are harmful and could very much be prosecuted under various laws concerning false advertisment and harmful rhetoric. This is also on KZread, a private platform, free speech is irrelevant and they can deplatform whomever they want. The reason government will not go after them is due to two factors. A) exploitative marketplace tactics are supported at the highest level (conflict of interest is real) and so politicians will not target the worst offenders (who are far larger than Vshred). B) changing laws concerning harmful rhetoric would negatively impact various groups who are important in the election strategies of many politicians. If you targeted misinformation and exploitative practice religious organizations such as the Evangelical Churches, groups such as the anti-vaccine and alternative medicine providers, and political groups who base their rhetoric on misinformation would be prosecutable, not to mention the degree we see this in the marketplace. This should be illegal, spreading blatant lies, unsupported by scientific evidence, that endanger the health, mental or physical, or lead to economic exploitation should be punishable by law. It is actually punishable under various different offences, but the loopholes are extensive.

  • @AveSicarius

    @AveSicarius

    With movements like anti-vaccination and extreme political groups becoming more common it might get to the point that misinformation and endangerment due to said misinformation are more easily punishable. Concerning the market sector, I really don't feel if it will ever change, these practices occur even in multinational corporations, and governments all but endorse it with the legislation they put out. We quite literally have a system dedicated to discerning fact from fiction, it would be easy to tell who is culpable.

I ran 35 miles a week for 8 weeks and seriously did not lose a pound. So I watched some KZread videos, and KZread took me down the fitness rabbit hole. So now I'm restricting calories, watching macros, working out 5 days a week doing 30 mins of running plus calisthenics. 4 weeks later and I'm down like 10 lbs and not that hungry. So this was a pretty good rabbit hole to fall down.
