so it’s been 30 minutes since layover was released and it’s SO FUCKING GOOD. I’m so glad he went this route. i’m trying so hard not to loop this album rn. I hope you will like it, but i think you will! the rest of the album has the same vibe as the pre release(imo they’re even better than the pre releases.) also, the mv for slow dancing feels so queer coded🥲 i cant wait for the other mvs to come out

I love the vibe of these first two songs. I thought that he would lean more to a jazz vibe, but the r&b suits his soulful baritone voice really well. Plus, I love that he didn't go fully into English lyrics, that he stills sings a good bit in Korean, staying true to his roots. Can't wait for the full album. 💜

Based on the first two releases and the track list, with Tae’s request that we should listen to the album in the order laid out, I’m wondering if Tae is conveying all the stages of a break up, you know like first moment when you can’t function or are reliving the same day, then blue = sadness, depression (laid out by Tae in Blue & Grey), then wanting the person back and can’t stop thinking about them (Love Me Again). Finally, either, moving on to remember the good times hence getting closure OR getting back together again (with the final two tracks).I feel that the character at the end has the white and black wings on his shoulders. I take this as the angel vs devil concept. Almost like sadness vs anger about this person being gone. This video will have v’s imprint on it for sure. It is the artistic side of V on display. V could have showcased his vocal capabilities to feed todays listener which likes high notes and ad libs, but he chose to sing in a style to create the right mood and then added the concepts to match the feeling and emotions the song needs to conveys. That’s why, for me V as an artist is really special and unique.

I like how soothing his songs sound, it helps me to relax to be honest 😊 i respect all opinions btw as long as people are respectful about it. I like that your clear on your opinions 😊

When I heard Rainy Days, I could see Jonghyun and V doing a duet or collab in someway. Their vibes are similar, while still having unique colors. Or at the very least I could see this being a song Jonghyun liked. Great reactions and those harmonies you weer giving were great!

Whilst Vs voice doesn’t sit well with my ears, I won’t deny that both songs are a vibe. I love that all the members music is very different

I respectfully disagree 100% with your take on wanting different higher sounds either in backing vocals or instrumentals especially when you're speaking of Love Me Again. Our ears are used to songwriting that adheres to a certain formula, That's why you mentioned that's what your ears hear. His songs don't necessarily adhere to the standard formula and I think you should learn to appreciate the fact that it's not the same as Western music.

@@archivesunset4214 hmm, but we hear his range in other songs within bts' discography including other solos within their albums. he definitely does have the range to layer with. it would be nice to have a fuller song with all of that added on, but this stripped back feel has its own charm i think. i do understand both opinions, personally i like this a lot.
