V-Day Shave
On the 1st of November 2013, I shaved my head for V-Day - a global organisation fighting to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM), and sex slavery. Thank you to all those who donated to support this cause. Your donations will go towards opening safe-houses, healing centers, schools & orphanages and providing education & healthcare for women all over the world.

wow what an amazing head shave video..more often than not the barber just plows away with the hair clippers but his one seemed intent on doing a thorough job by using his scissors first.A wonderful cause and a beautiful lady showing the courage of her convictions wish I had your strength of character. dear, if you like to shave your head like this you should visit to holy temple of tirupati balaji in south india. there is a belief that if you donate your hair to lord balaji , he will shower his blessings on you.

Hi Everyone. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get on here and comment since shaving my head until now. I must say I am very surprised to see how this video has taken off, especially as I had no intention for it to do so... In answer to some questions below.... Shaving my head was something that I always thought would be a good experience for me to go through - particularly in my exploration of femininity and releasing attachments to ego. Like most women, I was quite attached to my precious locks as a symbol of femininity and I guess my own vanity and this is precisely what I aimed to confront during this process. I also chose to do this after a transformational period in my life and as they say the hair symbolises attachment to the past I felt it was "now or never" to let it go. Over the past four months I haven't really done anything to my hair - except continue to run my fingers through it in appreciation for its softness. It has grown to about an inch and a half now and I love not having to do much with it. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the original footage for this video. Thank you for all your comments and support. I highly recommend people experience this process at least once in your life!
